    I played a NS wav for a few years and I own a Cantini too, but in retrospective the playability and ease of playing I think the NS wins. I’m playing now a YEV5 and rarely even pick the Cantini up.

    If I were still playing the EV and looking to purchase, it would be a Cantini, hands down. Regardless of its MIDI capability, which is formidable, it is just about the best sounding instrument out there right now in its own right.

      H, Cantini is getting better and better! Something pretty cool about the magnetic pick-ups. T

    Great demo and playing. Bravo, thanks for that. I prefer the sound of the NS. IMHO, one can make a more "acoustic" sounding violin produce weird electric/electronic sounds easier than having a harsher piezo-ey more typical electric fake acoustic (you fall victim to endless EQ-ing, as I can testify from own bitter experience)

    They aren't exactly "Gayford Carbon Strads" but sound pretty good anyway (tongue in cheek) . I prefer the Cantini. Though they both sound good, its personal preference.

    It seems there is more bow noise with the NS. I've tried the NS, and like most bridge pickups, there's lots of bow noise. I'm very interested in the Cantini tracking. Back in the day I had a Zeta jazz MIDI, but the tracking was absolutely pitiful. I might try to email you. I hate to go down to Raleigh to the EV Shop to try it, it's a long way. --- I agree with you that the Roland sounds lousy. I want to use the instrument for synth string sounds, but it has to track.

      Hey Alex, I think you also emailed me, right? ... I haven't noticed more bow noise on the NS ... just a different more airy sound, which I also like ... take care, T

    sir how is gr 55 with 6 strings viper ?

    • @TrevorDick
      @TrevorDick  5 лет назад +1

      It won't work with the 6-string Viper. Viper's don't have MIDI technology (pick-ups). All the best, bhargav! T

      It is a different pick-up system + will drive MIDI. A cool instrument. Here is another clip of the Cantini "in action" with the MIDI engaged: ruclips.net/video/d8Toco4el3w/видео.html
