    Extra NOTES and IDEAS:
ALTERNATIVES TO PRESS-N-PEEL BLUE FOR THE "RESIST MASK":
    - Use a vinyl cutter (Cricut, Silhouette, etc.)
    - Paint the surface, then selectively cut/remove the paint (laser, for example).
    - Use existing stencils/stickers.
    NOTES:
    - As much as I tried to cover my bases, I think I STILL forgot to say "Press-N-Peel Blue is for LASER printers." Although I mentioned "toner", I want to stress that this process wouldn't work with inkjet printers.
    - I'm still using the same bottle of ferric chloride I've had for a few years. It has metal particle "sludge" in the bottom since I keep pouring leftover etchant back into the bottle. I will never throw that out, lest it end up in the ground. If I decide I have to dispose of it, I would mix baking soda to neutralize and then consider something like adding it into a concrete mix, taking particular care that the copper ions wind up going into the ground.

When you mentioned the laser, I was reminded of your two resin printers (which cure with UV light) and this UV-sensitive film you can get for etching PCBs. It might be worth a look at getting those two things working together…

I use ferric chloride to make Printed Circuit boards, and can add a few tips:
    1) Heat up the etchant to about 80 C (176-180 degrees Fahrenheit) and it will etch quickly
    2) keeping the etchant moving speeds things too
    3) Spray Paint makes a great etch resist. Just remove the paint (scrape it off) in the areas you want to etch. If your makerspace has a laser, use that to remove the paint!

The real game changer is a thing called dry film. Almost the same technique, the only difference being you're going to use the transparency as a mask, not a transfer. The dry film is a UV activated plastic that bonds to the metal. It's perfect for PCBs and i'ts the industry choice alongside with silkscreening, which is also a great technique if you're running medium to big batches

Thank you Craftsman! This video is just what I was looking for! Btw I somehow figured out how to transfer an image onto metal using regular paper. For those who struggle: use an image printed on regular paper, press it against the metal picture down, apply some acetone. Make sure you don't move the picture. Wait for a minute and repeat. Then using water and cotton buds gently scratch off all the paper. The image should stay on the metal. I did it and it worked for me 👍

So being a mixed media artist I have each room set up for its own media . Anyways I was finally relieved and ready to shine by creating rather than purchasing and learning UNTIL I just had to go and
watch this video, nice thing is I have everything needed other than the acid which I just placed a order for some on Amazon. This is so wonderful to have this option of another skill to mix in with the medias I do. Thank you 🙏 you have been so amazing and I have learned so much from you through out the years. I'm about to give this a try after electro-etching didn't net the results I was after. Since that generates heat during the process, I found that vinyl from my Circuit wouldn't stay put and the liquid leeched under and ruined the design. I see in your notes that you suggest that it could work with this technique, so I'll give it a try.

Your videos show people how to use materials to express themselves in artistic ways.
Too many people have been harshly criticized, became self critical and stopped any attempts at art because they couldn't get it perfect enough and died with their art still inside them.

I work as an industrial engraver, and like to engrave all my EDC stuff, like my name into my memento mori coin.
For engraving metal i prefer my diamond-tipped milling cutter which basically just stationary scratches engravings into metal surfaces without removing any of said metal.
Yesterday i etched my name in my aluminum KeySmart Rugged. Looks amazing.

Thank you very much Crafman! Using the hot air gun is so much better than a laminator or iron. I have struggled to get my toner to stick but your method is the only one that has worked for me. Made my first etch today and it turned out beautifully. You’ve made me very happy.

I picked up the $30 scotch laminating machine off amazon & pulled the top off it for more room / visibility. Starting with passing the bare stainless sheet through a few times to heat it up, then passing the toner paper & stainless sheet through 10 - 15 times produces a perfect no effort transfer. Just wear cotton gloves or a have a rag as the piece will be hot while you keep passing it through the machine. Much easier than a heat gun or iron in my opinion

    Thank you so much.
This opens up a world of possibilities.
Imagine going back over the low spots with embarrassing powder and polishing the high spots. My mind is racing.
