I think a key difference between channel and stick is that with sticks, the student radio does not have to have model specific information as it effects the inputs on the master radio. Channel on the other hand bypasses the mixes on the master radio and the channels received are copied to the masters TX. There is a way for you to get the extra channels when using Sticks trainer mode. For both the Input and Mix screens, you can select any trainer input channel as a source for any input/mix. They are labeled "TR" followed by the channel number. So TR1 is student channel 1, TR5 is student channel 5, ... I think the TR sources always provide the student channels in case you were using that for controlling a camera pan/tilt or other such functionality so use activation switch when adding to mix/input. I prefer to use sticks so my trainer radio does not need to have model specific config.

Yes. I was able to do it, but I had better luck using the internal radio as the DSM_RX and I put the other radio in low power mode to get a bind. That will reduce control range, so I'll probably disable low power mode before actually flying if it doesn't cause the connection to drop.

I wanted to share a headache that had me confused for a while. In your other video, you off-handedly mentioned using the internal 4-in-1 module as the receiver, until trying that all of my binding attempts had failed using the external module as the RX. All of the documentation suggests this doesn't matter, so I think the issue has more to do with the antenna position, using the same protocol for both (DSM) and possible receiver de-sense (overloading). Keeping that in mind, low power mode also may have helped overcome this. You mentioned some issues that you thought had to do with being too close, I'm curious if spacing the radios out resolves this or if it's the proximity of the *modules* that is the issue. I'm going to try running a coax cable to get one antenna further away. The other big thing I noticed is the latency. The "Student" controller experiences notable latency in the controls that isn't there on the Master. I'm curious if this is less of an issue with something like ELRS or another protocol. I've found complaints about Spektrum Buddy Box mode having high latency even in official Spektrum controllers with cable.
