Good tips. I always put it on my pulse points

I spritz two times on my right wrist, then i swipe my perfumed wrist on the other, after that I gently swipe both of my wrists behind my ears and then on the bend of my arms. (You have to swipe quite fast and never rub!) I have found that this method is what works the best for me as no one has ever said that my perfume was too strong. I am actually very sensitive towards strong smells just like many others - I get a headache - so I am glad that I found something that works so well.

    I've always disliked perfume
    and air fresheners
I'm not sure if I have an extra good sense of smell, or just prefer good ol' fashioned air

I have put scented lotion on my hair to help with frizzy hair and makes it smell great too
Also for work I use a lighter and fresh smelling perfume as most ppl work in close quarters and u don't want to overwhelm anyone

I have always sprayed in those areas, even using my Victoria Secret body sprays. But I always include the inside of my wrists, and rub down my forearm. This is not only another way for you to smell your perfume, since we're always touching our hair, face, talking with our hands, but you give people your money/card, or reaching for something 😉

You look also pretty without makeup ! And different.
I always put perfume on my clothes ! Coz the chimics products are so bad for the skin and our health.

Awesome thank you Melissa :) I will totally do this from now on :) love the idea of scenting a scarf or something so I don't totally have to have the smell all day :)

I buy the cheap copies in oil form, then put it on my hair. That way it doesn't dry out my hair and I'm not putting the scent directly on my skin. Nice tip about spraying perfume on a scarf.

Tip: If you love a perfume that is too expensive for your budget, use the body lotion of the same range. 'Layering' of lotion then a final spritz of perfume has long been recommended but actually that final spritz isn't really necessary. Body lotion moisturises and also gives an enveloping, more subtle but longer lasting scent.

Fragrance can have up to 500 different chemicals (most being toxic) that affect your liver, kidneys, nervous system, hormones, etc.. I used to wear perfume, but over time I developed multiple chemical sensitivities, so all the chemicals in fragrances makes me so sick!! When I go out in public a start smelling those perfume trails it’s debilitating!

Wow, that's definitely differentfrom how I've been taught, which is behind the ears and on the inside of my wrist. I do fear that the place you advised first might cause more allergic reactions than behind the ears. I have to be extremely careful with perfumes due to sensitive and eczema prone skin. If it touches my neck front or left and right I get itchy painful spots from 90% of the stuff (so happy Louis widmer came up with 3 perfumes- one of which smells amazing on me - that lack about 27 common perfume allergens!!), and that collar bone spot is very much in the 'allergic zone'.
As for back of neck: wouldn't that be a tad useless if you have long (thick) hair? Or will it be picked up by said hair and spread around like that? I have a dry oil spray for my hair that has UV protection and gives more shine with an amazing scent that I sometimes use instead of perfumes. That way you won't put alcohol on your hair. I'm going to try your way 2 times, enough to see if it'll work for me.

Be aware that your perfume affects other people. I get nauseated from perfume and if it is sprayed near me I get headaches.
Please do not wear it on airplanes and if you share and office ask your office mates if it bothers them.

Laura Some Number Yes! I'm very sensitive to perfumes. My older sister douses herself in body spray, then lotion of the same fragrance. When they came up this past January when the snowstorm hit the Southeast, I had to in all caps, several times reiterate, _Don't bring your perfume! We're going to be locked in the house for a few days, we won't be going anywhere in the storm. I like the way you smell without perfume there's no need to bring it._ Thankfully she didn't bring it. Normally the house smells like her for a week after. My youngest female cat is terrified of her for some reason, the rest love her affections. Even after she's been gone for a few days, when my cat comes in she sniffs, and then hunkers down, and darts right back outside. I have to open the house up with fans blowing out the windows to air it out. Even then, the sofa and blankets she used still smell like her....even after laundering. It's crazy.

iooi She uses Bath and Body Works, which smell fine when used sparingly, but she sprays from head to foot, then follows with a lotion of the same scent. Right now she's hung up on _Champagne Toast_ . It was a limited time fragrance, but as soon as BBW brings out holiday scents in Aug she loads up on them, then again when they go on clearance. 🤧

A former boss of mine doused herself with Angel which is extremely strong and the only one she wore. She couldn't smell it at all. We had to keep our fire doors closed at work and when she walked by it still came into the office. Stinky! And I love perfume, but it's important to switch around so your nose doesn't become immune to the scent. Can't stand Angel to this day.

I agree, it can be brutal! I'm very sensitive to the smell of perfume, body sprays don't usually bother me, and is pretty much all I wear, but only in the areas Melissa mentioned, and my wrists. The worst is being confined in a business elevator, and even when the person walks out, you're still left struggling to breathe lol My mom is just like your sister, except with perfume, it kills me! And I've mentioned it to her, but she doesn't care, saying she likes it. But I think she can't smell how strong it is, cuz of wearing it EVERY single day! Ugh 😷

I can only handle one spritz of a perfume these days; a great high end eau de toilette since eau de parfum is too concentrated for me. We have a "scent" policy at work, but I'd rather smell nice than not. Even then, I keep it very light, about as scented as a light deodorant or soap/hair product would smell. My preference is to spray on my wrists and not my neck anymore. I heard that the sun can interact with the perfume and give you irritation.

I heard you can put it on the back of your knee too. Maybe that's an alternative to the back of the neck? Not sure. I like both your suggestions Melissa. I've got long, thick hair like you, so during the humid months (well, humid near me, not sure about your area), I think I'd avoid the back of the neck and just put it on the spot in the front.

I can't do it in the front. I get nauseated. I do one spray on my neck, in the back. I wear it for me not others ... that's why I don't spray more than once.
