Funny enough, the spell discard is actually meant to replace Armored XYZ. An alternative way to change/power up your monster that was somehow WORSE than Rank-Up Magics.
Basically every "full armor" xyz monster - except galaxy-eyes full armor dragon - is basically just a reference to when shark used armor xyz/full armor xyz in zexal. They're basically "remember that time shark used armor xyz to equip black ray lancer to Utopia? Or to Crystalzero?" But as an actual card. Same goes for Leo Utopia Ray just being that one time yuma equipped the ZW xyz monster to utopia ray.
I thought the same. If someone manege to brick my combo while playing Labrynth and I happen to have two lv 4 monsters on the field I can use him to send a roll back to the gy, even though guardborg could do the same while using less resources, but at least it can still be used to stack more materials on Zeus or Typhoon.
Basically the relevance of the water typing is that this is basically a combination of Zexal's Yugi and Kaiba equivalent. The former of which is the Utopia guy and the latter being the Shark player
I mean, in competitive yugioh, if your opponent did not managed to stop you during your main phase, they alrrqdy lost. This card does nothin to help you survive the main phase, it is just a win more card for when you already managed to dorge their interruptions
paleo/armored xyz can make use of the trap discard and big bodies to otk faster, plus, the trap to xyz summon is awesome to make anomalocaris, it even gets a draw
generally, battle phase omi negate arent that useful because if the effect monster arent going to cause problem for you during main phase, it's not going to be causing any problem during battle phase neither.. basically this card only useful against ancient gear, mikenko or utopia otk deck...
The summoning condition is why this card shines, in Shark especially. It gives a stupid easy target for Full Armor Xyz to Xyz with, pitches Full Armor or Ice Barrier to summon from hand also
@@TheBradleydalton but why would you summon this to begin with? seems like this only good for adding one extra xyz material.. its basically just a 2500k beat stick.. i'm sure there is something better you can summon...
The problem though is I don't really see the benefit of really making this in goblins because if I have full armored xyz I can just set the card and flip it up on my opponent's turn to make dark Knight lancer on top of the XYZ fortress in the draw phase and then it's in the gy anyway for me to banish it and if I equip XYZ armor torpedo onto the dark Knight lancer I will also just be getting the battle phase negation effect anyway albeit the difference being I have to declare an attack first but in exchange it negates all cards the opponent controls instead of just the attack position ones. I would say the best thing to do if you really want to make this would be to make it on top of gabonga and then use clatter sploder to detach the gabonga and then summon it back off clatter's effect but even then it would come at the cost of the spell/trap card which in goblins are kinda good so you want their field effects anyway(only one with a gy effect is grand entrance which is a crazy rota so why would you want to get rid of that?) all in all it's a nice tech to pull off but I don't think it particularly makes the deck any better than what it can normally do
0:41 My boys are a reference to "Tindalos hounds", a series of creatures that take inspiration from H.P Lovecraft More materials should be neat for Zeus I guess (Can be ranked further with that machine 5 wasp right?), yet not only needs opponent monster(s) to be in attack to negate their effects (Two words: Lightning Storm), let alone during battle phase, but doesn't protect itself during battle (If this card would be destroyed, detach a material from it) Handy ngl, especially for lvl 3 & below who wants access to Utopia finishers
The fact that there are yugioh fans who've never watched the anime baffles me. Not to call them a fake fan, but it's like saying I only like Star Wars because of the video games and never watch the movies. I'm sorry the characters in the anime don't win by setting up a ton of omni-negates turn 1. That'd be boring as hell. The only thing I wish the anime would stop doing is telegraphing counters when the audience saying "if this attack/effect goes through it's over".
@@FireFury190 the anime decently represents the card game of it's era from the zexal era to vrains For example ending on utopia + any number of backrow is sort of similar to dino rabbit ending on laggia + any number of backrow Ofc the backrow in the anime is a lot worse than what dino rabbit used for show purposes, but it still kinda resembles the 2012 metagame
I find exceedingly funny this video was also a memorial to my boy circular.

zexal is the show i grew up with and i still remebr the ep, who they were dueling and why utopia got equipped to black ray lancer
I can imagine some sending transaction rollback for that alternate summoning condition.
i was thinking that too lmao

Utopia Ray Lancer is great for Sharks. You can use it to discard the Ice Barrier trap card, then use Ice Barrier to search Abyss Shark.

this is a better rank up step than downerd magician in the case of paleo mill decks. The discard of a trap card can make a drawn rollback live too

Ayyoooo 😂 not the seaman cameo 🤣 shoutout to acevane 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Early Shark and Yuma Support Ooooooooh Very Good
In Shark you can play torpedo takedown and use it to summon this card and then draw 2 cards
Zexal and yuma are still the GOATS
As always amazing video. I am also happy to dig for fun uses with this guy if you ever want to hit me up
This card is amazing i like it
2:06 as a raidraptor player I understand but I guess im just built different.
Really good and informative video
shut up
Waiting until Felgrand support release again
Can anyone tell me if this card will come out in the TCG at all? Thanks
It'll be out in 2 weeks from now
sharks go brrrrr
i could also discard pendulum monsters with this card effect?
Lol no
Will u make another video about how Lil D did the same to yugioh ?
He will come to duel links in few days
I could use this in my vanquish soul deck
6 mat zeus on zoo is back in the tcg lets gooo, also unban broadbull in md so we can get 8 mat (genius plan)
Shhhh we don't talk about the Mekladies, also we can never have enough DM cards, and Tindangles are supposed to be the Hounds of Tindalos.
is this valiant shark lancer 2?!?!?!??!?
Here me out virtual world
Just saying dark magician will never have good support to make it compared of
Md players:
so u made a video about "how X changes yugioh" and u never watched a single piece of anime
nothingburger video ahead guys
