3:32 “Patience is for wimps” is a pretty insulting thing for the Doctor to say to the guy who spent 2,000 years waiting for him.
Power of Three was written by Chris Chibnall.
I remenber liking the concept of the episode, but the ending was a serious letdown.
And the woman who spent 12 years waiting for him when he promised he'd be gone for five minutes, let's not leave Amy out of this.
@@fc43 One extra shot of irony when the Doctor ends up spending 4 Billions years doing the same time. 🤣
@@CaratsRitzy In all fairness, he only remembered a month. The same month, 48 billion times over, but still.
Even then, he was quite busy over that month, looking for room 12.
Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, depending on how you count it, has matched or possibly surpassed her father's astonishing statistic of having met five, six, possibly more different incarnations of the Doctor.
7 actually. War, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Plus I believe one of the classic doctors knew her as a school girl in one of the spin-off media stories
@@keyblademasterclark Absolutely fantastic. That is a lot of Doctors.
@@keyblademasterclarkif you wanna put spin off then you have the bridagier meeting at least the first 10 except war and also meeting the Curator
@@ramonegues5689 When did the Brig ever meet 8-10? Big Finish?
@@keyblademasterclark 8th on BF, 9th and 10th in comics.
Technically 12th met him during Death in Heaven
I seriously love Kate's entire story arc. She's one of my favorite reoccurring characters in this show. That conversation she had with her doppelganger in the 50th anniversary was a highlight of the episode for me. She was willing the blow up the city to potentially save the planet and she was dead serious. It was such a powerful moment. I was worried how Chibnall would handle her, but I stopped worrying during that conversation she had with The Grand Serpent. She showed how much of a badass she still was standing up to him in that scene. Her father would be proud.
_I was worried how Chibnall would handle her, but I stopped worrying during that conversation she had with the Grand Serpent._
Chibnall wrote the episode she first appeared in, _The Power of Three._
Yes, I love ridiculously incompetent leaders.
@@kevinramsey417Kate couldn’t be further from incompetent!
People forget it was Chibnall who brought her into new who. It wasn't like the intro to Captain Jack where RTD and Moffat worked together on introducing him, it was all Chibnall introducing Kate. Moffat just brought her back because she was popular and he needed someone to be in charge of UNIT.
technically no since she was introduced in 1995 but then again that probably isn't canon so.@@adamstewart9052
I love Kate Lethbridge-Stewart, she is an amazing person just like her dad and I'm very happy that she in Doctor Who. I also love how she machine her dad in some episodes and that why i love her, her dad and everyone who was in UNIT ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😍🥰
I think they introduced the character of Kate Stewart (the Brigs daughter) to make up for the fact that they were never able to have Nicholas Courtney return to the role of Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart in New Who (even though he returned in SJA in 2008). The actor was unwell during the final years of his life before he died.
Well it wasn't hes fault he got sick. It just happened. OK.
@@JOHNSMITH-vx5yzI never said it was his fault lol
she's existed since 1995 on screen in Downtime.
@@Acknowledgerofdoctorwho I said introduced not created. There’s a difference.
Love Kate she was bramwell in the 90s ❤and her dad Corin Redgrave was in one of my favourite films ever four weddings and a funeral ax
Hope Kate will make further appearances alongside Gatwa's Doctor.
She is coming back for the next season but possibly not alongside him.
Unit IS coming back so.
The War between the Land and the Sea
She’s such a great actress.
1:08 there are soldiers all over my house and I'm in my pants.
My whole life, I've dreamed of saying that, and I miss it by being someone else
@@BHAFCboy3456 All these muscles and they still don't know how to knock.
Oh, Rory!! ❤❤❤
The Lethbrige-Stewart family is easily The Doctor’s favorite family. If Kate has a child, I guarantee they’ll be helping the Doctor when they’re Kate’s age.
5:08 We all owe UNIT for sealing this ultimate evil away.
How dare you diss The Chicken Dance 😂😂😂.
Love Kate soo much ❤
I’m really glad Chibnall and RTD chose to inherit the character of Kate Stewart from Moffat. Gives UNIT the perfect continuity.
Kate Stewart actually made her first appearance in the direct-to-video spin-off, _Downtime_ from 1995 (but played by a different actress).
Edit: Even if Chibnall introduced the character of Kate Lethbridge Stewart she’s still a Moffat era character by origin since she made her debut in Doctor Who during that era of the show. The same way Jack Harkness is an RTD1 era character even though Moffat penned his first episode (The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances).
Edit: Tell you what since she technically first appeared in Downtime in 1995, let’s call her a “wilderness era” character. Ok? 😂
Chibnall wrote the episode she first appeared in, _The Power of Three._
Chibnall didn't inherit her from Moffat, he wrote her first TV episode in Series 7
Actually it was Chibnall that created this version of the character! Originally she was intended to be entirely original but it was pointed out that Kate Stewart existed in the EU and first appeared in Downtime which Chibnall wasn't aware of but once this was pointed out she was made to be the same character.
Chibnall actually created her so it makes sense that he used her more in his episodes
@@joshuaa_77 Chibnalls best character by far
3:44 matt Smith actually did paint this entire fence
Love Kate ❤
I'm glad we had the various UNIT head operatives in the Russell T Davies whilst new fans were learning about UNIT as a build up to introducing Kate, the child of the most iconic head operative of all, Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart.
I love Kate Lethbridge Stewart!!
It will be great if she can say the one great line that her father said between 3 and 4. "Well, here we go again"
That would be Awesome-tacular 😜✌️🥃🤙
good highlights.
Nothing about Doctor Who will make me more upset than there not being a Lethbridge-Stewart on the Subwave Network call in the series 4 finale. She’s a Redgrave, she couldn’t be cast 4 years sooner and Kate just say she’s there on behalf of her dad? Come on now
the character didnt exist in its current form in modern doctor who nobody but the most hardcore fans would know who she is.
@@Quartermistress “the character didn’t exist in its current form” who do you think that current form is?
Her 1st televised appearance was the "power of 3"
@@marshelldoonan7798 And?
@@DigiRangerScott Do you want to travel back in time and include the character? They hadn't written her in back then. Unit had only been reintroduced and Martha Jones already worked for unit.
If you watch this again a few times you might notice something that no-one really mentions. even the doctor ignored or did not notice it. The 'Painting' is 3D. Watch it as the camera pans like if you were walking passed it. The left edge does not stop it keeps moving around the frame edge. Reminds me of an effect that is done in the movie Lucy when Morgan Freeman is holding the 'super computer' and if you look closely does the same thing in that case you can see a universe starfield inside it. Kind of non-Euclidean space effect.
hope rtd gives a onscreen explanation for where osgood went one day
Chibnall already gave one. She was working in other countries helping keep the peace between Zygon’s and Humans as well as helping the ones who were exposed who didn’t want any trouble integrate back in to the life they were living before the war began. She was also grieving for the loss of her twin/doppelgänger, and currently has the Osgood box again because the Doctor had wiped everyone’s memories again apart from Clara’s and Osgood’s! If you remember it was revealed that the whole thing had actually happened multiple times over the years but they never remembered, them two episodes were the first time we actually seen the same thing play out that the Doctor had dealt with countless times since TDOTD.
The actress in real life was already working on other projects when she was asked if she could return? She wanted to but didn’t have any spare time not even for a cameo.
LOL, the Doctor knew what was going to happen to Twitter...
I like Kate Lethbridge-Stewart
Yesterday, at Ffrith beach in Prestatyn where I live there was a seagull on top of a lamppost making the sound of the heart beat of a time Lord. I think it's a regeneration of the Master

Well what do you say , what can any ~ one say THANK YOU ;
These videos in the last few years have had a bad habit of unfocused highlight clipping. The Doctors interacting are not a Kate highlight, nor the Osgoods interacting with Missy, or the 13th Doctor's death. The highlight moment will be seen at the end or beginning, and the rest is strangely included in the clip?

Feel rtd is gonna give her an arc
Although, I don't doubt that there are moments where Osgood already has had two inhaler prompts, and Kate literally has to just snap in front of her face or give a mint to help her throat work correctly again. It's not always the lungs causing the attacks.
Kate lethbridge Stewart what in the name of sanity are you doing?!?!
Would be good to watch if it wasn't for the massive titles
Its a shame that the Cube episode was so rushed and poorly written towards the end, because everything leading up to the ending was very well done
@@anon5263Nope. Your premise is flawed in general, and even more so in this specific instance. It’s well-known that it was an actor issue. They hadn’t gotten round to actually making the last scenes before Steven Berkoff resigned from the role, so had no choice but to wrangle a new ending without him on the studio floor in the last day of work on the story.
But don’t let actual facts get in the way of your deranged nonsensical ramblings, eh‽
Ravens of death….
