I found the lack of cloister bell sounds in this scene weird because the TARDIS is definitely aware of the great danger. That's why I decided to add them myself. And I pitched the sound down after Sutekh appears to give the impression that the TARDIS cannot function properly. Nice catch!
@@SukruKaydak I actually have two thoughts on the fact the tardis didn’t sound the cloister bell 1: The Tardis Was seduced by Sutekh so she didn’t see a reason why it’s needed 2: The cloister bell is damaged by sutekh in order to control the Tardis i really like your idea of a warped cloister bell
@@SukruKaydak I always figured the Tardis had always been sounding the bell, but Sutekh had been stopping anyone from hearing it. One of those 'I have no voice but I must scream' moments. Honestly I greatly prefer the editing you've done here, makes this scene much more enjoyable IMHO.
I had a similar theory. I thought the groaning itself may have been the cloister bell as well, but Sutekh had twisted it, suppressed it. So it came out as a groan instead. But I dunno.
Let's imagine the scene if Elisabeth Sladen was still here. Sutekh reveals himself, laughing as he clutches the TARDIS. Kate Lethbridge-Stewart motions to everyone. "Get back! Everyone, get back!" But Sarah stands tranfixed. Her eyes widen as she begins to shake uncontrollably, unable to breathe. Images from the past..... Marcus Scarman, servant of Sutekh. Lawrence Scarman, his brother who couldn’t understand what happened to Marcus and was killed for it. The vision of an alternative 1980 on a blasted Earth circling a dead sun. Sutekh lowers his gaze to Sarah Jane Smith. "We meet again, my child. This time you and every other insignificant life form will kneel, grovel, and ABASE yourselves before me!" His inhuman laughter echoes in the room. Sarah, openly sobbing, clutches her head as she slowly sinks to her knees. She screams, "DOCTOR!! YOU SAID HE WAS DEAD!!!"
Excellent job, the music is timed near flawlessly with the scene! I've missed the bombastic exciting music doctor who had. Like the one for this scene fit it fine, but I could not for the life of me remember it. This is so much more impactful and tense in my opinion. And I was sad not to hear the cloister bell, the tardis and the universe is in danger, I'm sure its dangerous enough to ring it!
The thing with the music used in that scene for me is that it distracted me from what's happening because it was coded in my head as the Master's theme.
Sutekh is like Morgoth, in the sense that he seeks the death of all life. The Master is more like Sauron, seeking domination of all life, which makes much more sense.
as someone else pointed out, it works great until harbinger reveal, but the tone of this music is a bit too up beat and not dark enough for sutekh, cool video though. It's interesting seeing rescore videos because you hear more of the gods names than in the actual episode. Their names got drowned out a bit by the music with the original music.
I prefer instead of Sutekh's theme, something quiet more fitting, more dramatic and more majestic, like "strange, strange, creatures" but a bit darker. Miss Bill Murray old OST!
It works up to 2:37. The worst bit is when Harbinger is going through Sutekh's names, it is too up beat for that, and to be honest him saying it was the wrong anagram shouldn't have any music behind it. It does begin to work again though from probable trap onwards. Interesting video. When I saw the title I thought it would be an awful fit all around but it works well for some moments, dare I say even better for some like Ruby's mother.
I know the soundtrack doesn't snyc perfectly. I tried to make it work for about an hour, I guess a more thorough effort can make a difference but I also think it won't be a perfect fit unless you edit the scene as well as the ost, because they probably edited the scene with that original soundtrack as their guideline.
Harriet Arbinger being an anagram of Harbinger is honestly one of the worst plot twists I think I've ever seen. Me and my friends were dying from laughter due to it
Yeah, what a strange, strange "coincidence" ?? I don't think so. Maybe Russell T. Davies made this scene so long, cause it fits cause of the title of the score and overall too??
I would admit I was expecting cloisters in the episode, it's would be better with the groaning and the cloisters together.. now that's thought make it more feel like end of the universe..
with the little I know about Doctor Who, I have NEVER seen The Doctor so utterly TERRIFIED of anyone. That is one hell of a way to introduce how truly powerful and dangerous Sutekh, the God of Death, truly is
He looked more terrified in "School Reunion", when he was about to understand what the Krilitanes are about to do. If they would have succeeded, they would have become the most powerful God like creatures. No other Gods, only the Krilitanes as new gods who contro "everything". I guess even Russell forgot about that. The universal code is a bit more dangerous, if you ask me!
@@Preceyese-Seyeght exactly why I say this. This is a PERFECT godlike villain introduction. Showing you why they are to be feared by making the MC powerless or terrified when they finally show themselves

This is amazing- brilliant work!
I bring you Sutekh's gift of The B-52's
I hope in the next episode, we see Sutekh dancing around the TARDIS to that tune. You know, as a celebration for distributing his gift of death.
