I love that Anderson is sipping a cola (with a slice of lemon) while Anthony went with a cold Asahi. Even their drinks choices give a hint of their personalities.
I first started watching Bourdain back when he did "No Reservations". He allowed me to travel the world with him, even while I was living paycheck to paycheck. His snarky dialogue, quirky references and philosophy on life were always great commentary to the always phenomenally filmed settings. I miss him, I miss Robin Williams, especially during times like these, where the world continues to make less sense day after day. R.I.P. 💔
I always wishes to meet him. I watched his shows late at night with my dad when my mother and sister were asleep. My dad was a cook- a chef, and he always gave me the details about what was going on in shows; food, politics, philosophy. I hope AB had a reason, and that his family understood. One day, I hope to ask.
Really enjoy these amusing interactions between Bourdain and Cooper. And already miss Mr B. He really seemed like a compassionate shy and sympathetic man. With a genuinely deep love of and curiosity about his fellow travelers in life. Be at peace.
Little Flower Hahaha.. especially when it’s cow’s stomach lining.. hahaha. I do agree w/ the respect comment, but this is what the two of them, as friends did. Anthony was always trying to get Anderson out of his comfort zone. It wasn’t ever done in a disrespectful way. Only, sometimes in a comedic way. Hahaha.
What a great loss. Anthony Bourdain allowed me to visit different places, without moving from my home. It's a shame, it's sad, and I'm really going to miss, Anthony Bourdain's, Parts Unknown. R i p Anthony oh, you will be greatly missed.😭😭🙏🙏❤
gothatway09 He is a know it all jackass 100% but for some reason in his case I find it endearing. I think he knows he comes off as sort of a dick sometimes and just embraces it, and that's cool with me.
+gothatway09 I recommend reading any of his books and you'll understand the real Bourdain. Highly recommend Kitchen Confidential. It's the book that put him on the map. He's such a great writer.
What I find most telling about this interview is the fact that no less than 30 seconds after Anthony explains how not eating the food of a culture that people give you is a form of rejecting them, Anderson, turns his nose up at Yakitori like a 5 year old that does not want to eat his spinach.
i mean, say what you will about his glass stomach, just a few seconds before that he tells a story about sneaking into Myanmar with the fukin KNLA to do a story on political dissidents in country. sure, id try yakitori, but you'd be in for a hell of an uphill battle to get me to visit foreign dictatorship.
I grew up watching you, I am really sad. This is the only celebrity death that ive truly been devastated by. I will never forget you. I will always be sad when I see your face. You will be missed, not only in my household but the households of millions of people.
My theory is that he had too much to drink that day and or night (he definitely was a drinker) and was overly emotional about some small mishap or bad news. We have all been there. Last night I had too much wine and cried myself to sleep because I lost a second contact in the span of a week.
I miss this man and his no-BS. Anthony, your stories got me through some of the roughest times of my life about a decade ago. You left us while I felt okay enough to explore the world. Now I am back to my origin and I hesitate to watch your show again because.....
If I had the chance to eat with Tony, I would gratfully sample anything offered. In fact one of the best meals of my life was eating at iron Chef Morimoto's restaurant, with him overseeing every aspect of our meal. I ordered Omakase, which is chefs choice, and specifically requested that he feel as free as he wanted to challenge my taste buds.It was flat out amazing. If given the chance, I would do the same with Tony hands down.
Anthony and Anderson were the best of friends . Anderson wrote a wonderful eulogy for his friend. It’s on YT somewhere. I loved watching AB eat. He loved everything. Very sad how his life ended.🍁🇨🇦
Andrew Zimmern shat his heart out his asshole when Anderson Cooper referred to Tony as the most adventurous eater when the other guy tromps around the world eating the nastiest stuff he can find. :D
The crazy thing about some extreme picky eaters is that they will turn up their noses at high quality, exquisitely prepared foods simply because they're unfamiliar, but will be perfectly content to subsist on a diet of stuff like McNuggets or Hamburger Helper simply because they ARE familiar. They may be picky about WHICH foods they eat, but they're obviously not picky about whether such foods are in any realistic sense edible in the first place.
These two were friends and so great together. Anthony never judged Anderson's food issues, he just wanted to encourage him and help him along on his life's journey. Sweet relationship.
182parker, I know it’s been a long time since you commented, but.. EXACTLY!! Complete ignorance.. but that’s what tiny minds do. Spread ignorance.. AND hate.. sometimes trying to mask it w/ humour. Smfh.
One of my favorite parts about traveling is trying new foods. Especially street food. I know a lot of non-adventurous eaters over here in the Philippines. To me, I think they are really missing out. I hope Cooper can branch out and get more adventurous. But that being said... even though I have been known to eat chicken knuckles, feet, and grilled intestines (isaw ay masarap!)... I do prefer "regular" chicken too, most of the time. :)
Come on Anderson Cooper - A Shake is NOT food!! Not all of us have to try and eat out of garbage cans (or sleep behind them either sometimes like Tony Bourdain) but food can be one of lifes greatest pleasures. Rest In Peace Anthony Bourdain our world is a little less colorful this year without you!
Oh come on cooper...you can do better than that, at least you're not dealing with Andrew Zimmern, the guy who eats weird things. Tony is really a great guy who loves to enjoy eating food. He really knows how to eat.
shorea27 I have heard of people and do know people that have eaten tongue before. I can't do it. Lol I'm sure it's good but I just can't. Lol Awesome video of Anderson and Anthony. But just so sad. 💓
They're the freshwater shrimps shown in the vid earlier. Butterflied, and fried with tons of garlic and herbs. Kinda like gambaz al ajilo, Myanmar version.
I personally would be halfway between Cooper and Bourdain, definitely not the least adventurous eater but not necessarily the most, but probably closer to Anthony Bourdain...especially when it comes to spicy foods ! I can take spicy food better than 99 % of people, at least !
I know this is a decade after the fact, but to Anderson Cooper; If I ever get to shake your hand, I'd let you know that I'm so glad you got to meet Anthony Bourdain. It was always a dream of mine, since I was of the age of consciousness watching his shows with my dad. And, that I'm sorry AD left us too soon- I hope he went like Roger Williams, or Hunter S. Thompson, and one day, I'll ask him. And then, I'll tell him that I'm sorry for his decision. Then tell him I forgive him. And hopefully, my dad- in his prime- will bring the jeager bombs, and we'll go to Vietnam era Thailand and see my dad's maid Ow, and eat good food, and talk a out history, and shit on the Khemer Rouge. Mohegan sun is the place to be.
It's all about context and respect. I have no problem with any sort of sexuality and language etc etc.. but in a public forum in my opinion, it's distasteful no matter what the preferences are, some things just aren't good manners to discuss over the family dinner table. I'm not "grossed out" or anything I just find it out of place and disrespectful to the other people in the conversation that's all.
Lance Pickell i think it's more like chicken for food "weirdos" like A Cooper. If you don't like to see the whole animal and don't eat anything but the tender, lean parts of animals then people that say "regular chicken" should go vegetarian
yeah, he was balking at crispy chicken skin... I mean it's like fried chicken on crack! And he travels the world, jeeze, to be able to hunker down with a bottle of wine and a proper cheese plate in Paris alone would be a freaken feast!
CNN is the most watched international news channel so it's not like they are in any trouble in the first place. Not their fault that Americans prefer loud, yelly, polemic opinion news with a heavy right or left bias over the more neutral version.
People shying away from cameras has nothing to do with "soviets". Eastern slavs were always notorious for being "non-smiley" to strangers. Shame Anthony is not with us anymore to spend more time there.
I love that Anderson is sipping a cola (with a slice of lemon) while Anthony went with a cold Asahi. Even their drinks choices give a hint of their personalities.
Cause Anderson is a p----!!!

Rest in Peace Anthony - you are sorely missed
YOU NEVER TELL PICKY EATERS WHAT THEY’RE EATING
YES YOU DO..OUT OF RESPECT
Little Flower Hahaha.. especially when it’s cow’s stomach lining.. hahaha. I do agree w/ the respect comment, but this is what the two of them, as friends did. Anthony Bourdain is awesome!!
gothatway09 He is a know it all jackass 100% but for some reason in his case I find it endearing. I think he knows he comes off as sort of a dick sometimes and just embraces it, and that's cool with me.

And very dead.
yes he absolutely did...
Scott Kuhn. Wow. Very sad..
man ive been looking for this segment for a while. two of my fave CNN people. thanks for uploading this!
RIP Anthony~!
You are already missed.
This guy will be missed. RIP Anthony!

Bourdain's new show is his best yet! Can't wait to see more episodes.
Rest in peace Tony, you Will be missed.
i've never missed a celebrity so much
Well said Anthony about the different culture, food and people! Loved the video.
I grew up watching you, I am really sad. This is the only celebrity death that ive truly been devastated by. I will never forget you. I will always be sad when I see your face. You will be missed, not only in my household but the households of millions of people.
same here man
Same. Him and Robin Williams
My theory is that he had too much to drink that day and or night (he definitely was a drinker) and was overly emotional about some small mishap or bad news. We have all been there. Last night I had too much wine and cried myself to sleep because I lost a second contact in the span of a week.
I miss him, his honesty, humor, vulnerability, and the world is empty without him.
R.I.P. Anthony ❤️

I love bourdains transformation in this show...it shows the struggles and hearts of the country..I think it's great
A.c goes home to boil chicken breast and put his toast on light
With a dab of ketchup
conceptsosecurr luong 😆💕😆
We will FOREVER MISS YOU ANTHONY BOURDAIN ...
Miss the guy, thanks! Love the shows-great story teller.
Rest in Peace Anthony Bourdain
He Likes and Loves Philippines so much
he was one of us who the mainstream allowed in, not as controlled opposition, but as someone who gave them credibility, grace by association
Two of my favorite people
Der botnets:
Anthony and Anderson were the best of friends . Anderson wrote a wonderful eulogy for his friend. It’s on YT somewhere.
I loved watching AB eat. He loved everything. Very sad how his life ended.🍁🇨🇦
After seeing AC's reactions and suspicion of world-class food I finally understand "why THEY hate us".
It would be a great show if Cooper and bourdain traveled abroad series
COOPER'S BOUNDARIES HAVE BEEN PUSHED.
I love traveling with Anthony...he's such a good companion
Really? Anderson couldn't even handle chicken elbow? The man sure has a very compact boundary lol.
Andrew Zimmern shat his heart out his asshole when Anderson Cooper referred to Tony as the most adventurous eater when the other guy tromps around the world eating the nastiest stuff he can find. :D
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!! I was thinking the same thing!
They may be picky about WHICH foods they eat, but they're obviously not picky about whether such foods are in any realistic sense edible in the first place.
picky eaters are not food snobs, they just do not like unfamiliar foods....
Because we have no fucking money! I'd be at Eric Ripert's place everyday if I had that kind of scratch.
These two were friends and so great together. Anthony never judged Anderson's food issues, he just wanted to encourage him and help him along on his life's journey. Sweet relationship.
"Just eat it Anderson..."
That's what I would be saying non-stop.
Tony looks like his eyeing Anderson cooper there, they have such good onscreen chemistry
I sure wish I had Anthony's options when I was a cook.
This is about food. Wtf does anyones sexuality have to do with anything. jesus
182parker, I know it’s been a long time since you commented, but.. EXACTLY!! Complete ignorance.. but that’s what tiny minds do. Spread ignorance.. AND hate.. sometimes trying to mask it w/ humour. Smfh.
Homophobia is hard to hide...
Except you are the only mentioning it for an attention.
One of my favorite parts about traveling is trying new foods. Especially street food. I know a lot of non-adventurous eaters over here in the Philippines. To me, I think they are really missing out. It couldn't have ended it better then with him saying "That's some good shit my friends"
If only he could've gotten the help he needed to see that there is always hope....sometimes you just have to hang in there.
Anthony making Anderson uncofortable is my favorite category of content
Yakitori hearts are delicious.
Excellent
They should go out often.
Rip Anthony bourdain.
Anderson is so funny 😂
Low key called Anderson Cooper a schmuck...💀🤣🤣
Come on Anderson Cooper - A Shake is NOT food!! Not all of us have to try and eat out of garbage cans (or sleep behind them either sometimes like Tony Bourdain) but food can be one of lifes greatest pleasures. Rest In Peace Anthony Bourdain our world is a little less colorful this year without you!
Bourdain's voice sounds a lot like actor Elliot Gould
+Terry Hollas You were reading comments whilst listening weren't you? LOLZ, me too.
Rip to my friend
BOURDAIN IS SO OPEN MINDED.
Anderson is the wrong guy for this interview. A man who could live on shakes 😩
He has the personality of a chalk board.
thanks for the free trip around the world..i enjoyed it very much.
To have a closed stomach is to have a closed mind.
Totally`````` Anderson eat! Your near food greatness eat! I'd be chowing down like mad.
RIP A.B.
So nice...
we missed MR. Bourdan, world is missing you RIP
I thought Andrew Zimmern was the most adventurous eater.
Zimmern is second rate. He just eats stuff for shock value.
AC is like a little bird
RIP💔
Oh come on cooper...you can do better than that, at least you're not dealing with Andrew Zimmern, the guy who eats weird things. Tony is really a great guy who loves to enjoy eating food. He really knows how to eat.
Or Bear Gryllis
I don't understand people. The heart is a muscle. So is chicken breast, steak, leg of lamb etc.
"They do tongue here really well." Lol
shorea27 I have heard of people and do know people that have eaten tongue before. I can't do it. Lol I'm sure it's good but I just can't. Lol
Awesome video of Anderson and Anthony. But just so sad. 💓
Lori Owens Tongue is amazing. You're seriously missing out.
Tony is so perfect for his show (if that makes scents)
R.i.P :(
That crustacean that Bourdain eats at the end of the clip :O
They're the freshwater shrimps shown in the vid earlier. Butterflied, and fried with tons of garlic and herbs. Kinda like gambaz al ajilo, Myanmar version.
Cooper seems more like a stay home and drink wine kinda guy.
You see like a hater. Wait, you are a hater.
Souk Khanhsila
Nope
Why are you hating? What did Cooper do to you?
Souk Khanhsila
How am I hating? I'm just stating the facts!
Souk Khanhsila
A cat got your tongue?
There's a paste bin: creamed corn.
Someone tell cooper about soylent
I personally would be halfway between Cooper and Bourdain, definitely not the least adventurous eater but not necessarily the most, but probably closer to Anthony Bourdain...especially when it comes to spicy foods ! I can take spicy food better than 99 % of people, at least !
Bon Appetit boys
both these gentleman rule
I know this is a decade after the fact, but to Anderson Cooper;

"If you refuse foods you're rejecting the people"
Exactly how I felt when my white friends and co-workers refuse to try my foods. It's like they are afraid of the unknown.
How is it possible for a person to not like food like Cooper? I wish I had that going for me.
No ya don't! Food is great!
wtf is "regular chicken"?
Chicken breast in plastic wrap, if I had to guess. :p
Michael Coco chicken that is not spicy/ bitter/fried
Lance Pickell i think it's more like chicken for food "weirdos" like A Cooper. If you don't like to see the whole animal and don't eat anything but the tender, lean parts of animals then people that say "regular chicken" should go vegetarian

Anderson is a wealthy person in a big city. You're delusional if you think he feels compelled to cook.
Only Anderson or Don can replace Bourdain. Keep the show going. What a real lost.
"Korean restaurant" named blatantly japanese name. Thanks Anderson.
Wow Anderson really strokes himself at 1:51
Your statement does NOT make scents.........but it does make sense.
Anderson Cooper isn't afraid of sausages
@2:53
KRATOS
Come on Anderson, Eat, you too Slim.....
Sorry mate I love Tony but the award for the 'most adventurous eater' goes to Andrew Zimmern
People shying away from cameras has nothing to do with "soviets". Eastern slavs were always notorious for being "non-smiley" to strangers. Shame Anthony is not with us anymore to spend more time there.
Suicide is not that uncommon. We all have to die but sometimes it's just too much
Anderson “I prefer shakes” Cooper
Sorry, nobody said thank you for the beer, for the food.......fail!
Funny how this guy has never cooked a meal in his life or even been near whoever cooked his meal. #richpeople #vanderbilt
I get turgid over some food !
Rip
