The way he talks about his daughter with such love. It just shows you the power of depression. That someone as loved and successful as Bourdain, could be so depressed that he could not only leave all that behind...but leave his little girl as well. It’s heartbreaking. But when you are in the throws of depression, you can’t see the light. It’s all consuming. Be kind to yourself and to others. You never know what someone is going thru.

It's the "new" CTV morning show in Canada, that took over from the beloved "Canada AM". The key is that they really only updated the format and made it more young people friendly, while keeping the smart side of it up. The difference between Canadian and American morning TV can be quite surprising at times. I always feel like I know more watching Canadian TV, though it's not quite as fun and relaxed as the American version, which maybe explains the difference between the two countries,
I am in Toronto and I didn't know Canada AM was axed. I may have to start watching again. I enjoy Ann Marie and I overall prefer Canadian and Brish programming because it's calmer. I, however, do watch American too because my petty side has to be acquiesced :)

Usually Bourdain was interview someone, some chef, or local people, but I very enjoy the interviewer doing to Bourdain, she ask some very interesting question, perspective and vision, not too many people can do it so well. After Bourdain is gone, very hard to see another one who can travel, eat and show us the world like that,,,,Miss him much
This was one of the less cringy interviews that he's done. The interviewer did a great job, and I felt comradery. She asked great questions, and he answered with grace, humility and humor. A good memory from his life.

It's so sad to know and find out today, this morning of Mr. Bourdain's passing. I say this respectively and with honor of this man who truly came a long way to join all of us, around the world to gather, share, create great memories of that moveable feast of good food, good drink, good ingredients, good ideas, good people around the world, his culinary ideas, recipes, books, videos, TV programs, just enjoyment of sharing food simply with people we are happy to be with in every bite. I just learned today I lost one of my favourite chefs as I have had a full on few months. It breaks my heart as Tony was one of those guys you loved to watch and enjoy. He was honest, he was brilliantly gifted and he loved taking us behind the scenes. I certainly won’t forget him. I came here to watch & make notes on his cooking of Vongole. Instead, mesmerized by how organic the lady's questioning which generated REAL interest in her subject. I have come away very pleased & intrigued by this journalist. Now off to purchase his book & see if she does any political coverage.

After that I went from refusing to eat food that I even suspected having onions or mushrooms in them to loving them, not instantly of course. Anthony Bourdain will live in our cherished memories. She's charming, asks the right questions for this type of interview and she acts like a normal human and not like a robot presenter.

Well I mean Bourdain was never shy of death or talking about death - he knew he would die eventually like every one else. He mentioned many times how he believed he would never make it to the age he did.
It’s still hard to wrap the mind around the idea that he’s gone. It sounds extremely sad in retrospect when you hear him talking about his daughter in this video. He obviously loved her more than anything in life; which gives you an idea of the kind of inner pain that he must have been struggling with when he decided to take his life - knowing he would leave all that he loved behind. Sometimes pain gets the better of love; those are the moments when you need a lifesaving reminder.
RIP Tony, your shows always took me places that showed us just how similar we all are, great premise to your shows and you will missed, my condolences to your family, you were a gem amongst our humanity.
Only really started to watch Anthony Bourdain now with his series Parts unknown. Sad to say we lost one of the great guys. A knowledgeable, cultured and down to earth person who had his ups and downs with addiction yet came through the other side. He was a fantastic chef, writer, presenter and Father. He had plenty of good times travelling the world drinking with the locals. Such a shame he was suffering in silence putting on a brave face. He must have felt suffocated by his depression and felt he had no option but to end his life which is truly heartbreaking. RIP Buddy.
Drink heavily with locals and have your producer arrange for a local to provide some inside information. Please. We know how TV shows work. Don't let's get too carried away because it's Bourdain. How ironic when Tony answers that this dish, linguine aloe vongole, would make a good last meal because it's loaded with garlic, and gives you good stinky garlicy breath - a good way to go out. Yep. He had a dark side to him. I personally believe it was the history of heroin use/addiction. I think it permanently alters your brain chemistry. I had a friend who was very similar, former heroin addict, world traveler, smoker, drinker, funny, life of the party, artistic, smart, talented, articulate, well paying job, 2 young kids and a lovely wife. Hung himself spontaneously one afternoon after a small family squabble. He spoke of hanging himself for years, in a joking manner, whenever there was a little stress in his life. He had so much going for him, you'd never, ever, even dream he'd take his own life.

A knowledgeable, cultured and down to earth person who had his ups and downs with addiction yet came through the other side. He was a fantastic chef, writer, presenter and Father. He had plenty of good times travelling the world drinking with the locals. Such a shame he was suffering in silence putting on a brave face. He must have felt suffocated by his depression and felt he had no option but to end his life which is truly heartbreaking. RIP Buddy.

How ironic when Tony answers that this dish, linguine aloe vongole, would make a good last meal because it's loaded with garlic, and gives you good stinky garlicy breath - a good way to go out. Then he says if he were planning to die tomorrow he would like to eat at a high end sushi restaurant in Tokoyo...or even a bowl of noodles. Today, June 8, 2018, he exited planet Earth but will live on forever in our hearts. He changed my life, and there will never be anyone that can fill his shoes. RIP Anthony Michael Bourdain.

Yep. He had a dark side to him. I personally believe it was the history of heroin use/addiction. I think it permanently alters your brain chemistry. I had a friend who was very similar, former heroin addict, world traveler, smoker, drinker, funny, life of the party, artistic, smart, talented, articulate, well paying job, 2 young kids and a lovely wife. Hung himself spontaneously one afternoon after a small family squabble. He spoke of hanging himself for years, in a joking manner, whenever there was a little stress in his life. He had so much going for him, you'd never, ever, even dream he'd take his own life.

Well he didn't have anything else to live for apparently and was very obsorbed in the world he'd made for himself based around food. He may not have understood anything else, but it's not very nice to his daughter who now will never have the chance to talk to her dad again.

Did he figure out a way to decrease illegal immigration, or enrich the educational system? Solve the high crime rate? Etc. just wondering. May he rest in peace, great artist in many ways, chef, writer, film maker, world traveler. He made the world that much closer for all of us and gave us a real appreciation of other cultures. No kid should be afraid of eating seafood or is esp if they grow up on old Cape Cod here where Anthony got his start at a restaurant as a sous chef. Provincetown has some of the best restaurants, equal to Boston, NYC and Paris! The late great American abstract expressionist painter Robert Motherwell once said, " who needs Paris when you have P'town" as Provincetown is affectionately known as, the oldest summer artist colony in the country. So bring on those clams along with the clam chowdah and Lobstah!! Saw Anthony's big boat here shrink wrapped for the winter, it's name was "NO RESERVATIONS" Thanks for sharing~
