Paul revere? Who knows. Creepy drinking out of his head. This is my fourth day retired and full time eBay. Loving it. Started on eBay 23 years ago with handmade 1840 drop sleeve shirts that I made. Didn’t take it seriously till a few years ago when I started photographing for a friend that is full time eBay. You are an inspiration. Now to try those individual eyelashes. I hate mascara. So hard on to put on without glasses. lol. I sell everything as well. Can’t do clear glass. Just doesn’t move me. Single mugs. Hmmm. Been picking up wooden items more. The little curio shelves sell so fast! Appreciate your sharing. Blessings. I love to walk too. Hard to do with the ice and snow in Wyoming right now but it’s much nicer than last year. I am a year older than you and inspired that you found Roger thrifting. Maybe I will find my true love in the shoe aisle.

Congratulations on the high sales in your booth. To be honest, i didn't think the booth would do well. The reason is it's on the 3rd floor & i didn't think there'd be many people able to climb 3 flights of stairs. So, I'm very happy for you!!

The metal hat looking things are shades from a vintage wagon wheel 'chandelier' they sit on the glass light cover (like an old hurricane oil lamp). We used to have one of these wagon wheel chandeliers in our dinning room. It was in style when my grandparents remodeled way back in the day lol. I do miss it sometimes.

I would love to see your new booth.
I missed that video. Well done.
Thanks for sharing how much you made.
I love watching you thrift, and pulling sold from your inventory.
I love how organised your basement is for storage.
I live in Germany & they don't have antique malls/booths.
    Europe is very different.
It facinates me as to what you can do in the USA.
So much is possible whereas it is not so in Europe. Even your online shops like eBay, Poshmark, etc are American companies.
Often, they dont cater to the European markets, and shipping and tax just make it too expensive.
I also dont buy on Amazon because of the shipping and taxe costs that get added to items shipping into Germany.
It frustrates me as I would like to support small business owners rather that superstores.
We do have second hand shops, charity shops, and lots of flea markets in summer.
But social shops are small, the are not anything like the huge sizes of your Goodwills.
Goodwill actually take all the best donations out for themselves.
I watched a video about this. Laura Caldwell from Left Coast Revivals and The Vintage Bombshell went back of house at Goodwill.
We got to see the truth about what Goodwill do with the best most valuable donations.
They have machines that test gems, gold & silver.
    They also employ art evaluators.
They sell the cream of the crop donations online to make a high profit, and the rest goes to the shops. Then then bins, etc.
Maybe some good vintage slips through the cracks or is not going to make enough profit and go to the shops.
Maybe that is why some Goodwills in certain areas only see the junk.
It depends on the demographics of a town or city.
In Germany the social shops cater for people who are struggling.
The German culture has a good donation culture.
After living here fir 4 years, I have figured out where to go and which shops have the best prices. Some shops sell their clothes very cheaply, and hard goids are higher.
Some shops sell the shoes and clothes at a higher price, and the general stuff cheaper.
And it depends who is on duty at the till.
Nothing has a price on it so you hope you get a good price. 🤔😁
Thanks for sharing Karen. Wishing you and Rodger Happy New Year, may 2024 be everything you wish for.

Ok I'll let ya know something. I frequently go on goodwill online pages and Pennsylvania I buy so many high high end clothing brands. How the buy it now stops the bid process and its so reasonable. Alot of that one store where you find no great stuff yes its on there for sale quick. The bidding has moved up to average 2 day only bids. Or buy it now added features. So if you walk in. And go where did all the good stuff go in this one store. They are aggressively selling on the online. And yes I got some awesome 100,- 300$ clothing items in my size for 25 or 35 including shipping.

As for the Yeti brand tumblers, the metal ones that have the yeti name on it; those sell for around $45. I got one as a gift last year, and since I never heard of the name, I looked it up online and was surprised to see just how much they went for. The one I got was Inscribed with the letters of my name on one side, and then my full name on the other side.

  • @cherylhillskemper7564

The cute fish bowl is/was made by Princess House. Their cut crystal cornflower pattern is the unique identifier. Back in the day....late 1980s & before....Princess House had a plant in West Virginia where all their hand-blown 24% lead crystal products were made. I was a consultant, so we all knew the company info. It was a good company. I loved being an independent consultant.
Just to add, this was probably never a fishbowl unless it is glass & contains no lead. Beginning in about 1990, the company always told us to tell customers not to store food or drink items in any of their items with a 24% lead content. These items containing lead could be used to serve food or drink, but not for food storage. The company after 1990 reduced the amount of lead in their items. Karen does what she calls a tap test to determine glass vs. lead crystal. The glass will just kind of have a thud noise. A piece of crystal will have a nice ring tone that resonates.

I used to be a walker myself until I had worked at the post office for a while and had torn my meniscus several times and had it repaired several times. Each time made it harder to continue to go for my walks. Even after breaking my leg and having a total knee replacement, I still used to walk a couple hours in the morning after taking the grandchildren to school. But now that I'm in my 60s and having hormonal issues, walking is only done when absolutely necessary. I miss it.

Tiny Fish Bowl: the glass etching made me think of the old Princess House pattern.

I was thinking the same. I used to sell Princess House crystal (way too expensive) I wonder if they are worth anything now.

@@lgarcya Good question about value. Don't see it much anymore, but used to find it a decade ago when we cleared estates and storage units. The only set I ever had were the tall pilsner beer glasses, which is why I recall that etched pattern. That was in the early 1980s.

Italian inlaid Wood Trays: One of the big areas that produces Italian Inlaid wood trays and other objects (jewelry boxes, tables, etc) is Sorrento, on the Amalfi Coast. I still have a few pieces I found, while living in Naples in the 1990s. It's beautiful work.

@@Mary-e6o5x Their woodwork is beautiful on the Amalfi coast, but the 50 mile drive along coast can be extremely scary with few guardrails and high cliffs. Especially true for the passenger looking out the window, over the ledge. LOL

Put the to[s back on the boxes just because you thought it was cheap someone else might like it and want the box in good shape. Not only did you just lay the top on the box not lined up with the bottom you put that heavy picture on top of it.

I would have picked up that anthropologie mug too even if it was not branded. For me I find that oversize mugs with contrasting interior colors sell the best.

What will you do with Christmas items that did not sell by January? I have a black Christmas sweater. I am thinking of ending the sale and relisting, and just letting it become a long-tail item. Thank you for warning us about selling women's pants/jeans.
