I agree with you on anything past 22 inches. You can ride 22’s without a problem if you got the right tire. The entire diameter of a 22 compared to a 20 with tires isn’t that big of a difference. The big difference is the transfer of energy to the shocks and body because the low pro tire on the 22 has a different design within the belt of the tire itself
I don't agree nor disagree. To properly put wheels on your car you'll need top keep the same diameter as the tire. Any professional shop will tell you this. I already thought about when I get my crown Vic what would happened if I set the 22’s on would it mess up my transmission and on how everything would’ve gone so I want to say thanks brother I’ll just go with the custom stock and tuning up my crown Vic.💯
I recently copped a 2013 Chevy Suburban LTZ it came with the factory 20s I'm thinking of going 22 and no bigger because that is my daily driver and I am on the highway 24s look nice but I'm in Michigan and our roads are horrible and at least with 22 I still have some meat on my tires
A year later a cop some 24s for my Suburban used I got a hot deal on them I went with a 305 35 24 inch tires it rides good but I'm thinking about going to 285 40-24 because like I said I'm in Michigan and I roads are s*** I've had to replace two tires
I don’t know why I found this so hilarious but you do have a solid point about they’ll cost you more in the long run than what they cost to buy… I had 28’s on my 2003 Tahoe 4x4… the transmission went out about 4 months after that😂
I agree with some of the things you are saying but it only holds true to those extreme modifications. you can still get stock size custom wheels and not have any issues. Most cars now have a 17” or better and you can go up at least 2 sizes and get wider and be good. I have a Cadilac Escalade that I went up 2 sizes from 22 and got 1 and half inch wider and have no issues.
This video is correct & wrong at the same time. I have a 2010 Escalade with factory 22’s i upgraded to 24”s absolutely no issues. I followed the oem specs for bigger rims in this case 295/35R24 same revolution etc..as my 22”s no difference in gas mileage. Also I’m old school and take rims off in the winter and would never keep rims on if traded cause if you take care of rims you still will ALWAYS find someone who will buy on streets for close to what u paid. So my suggestion is do your research on rims first and if your not doing anything crazy like 28,30 etc you will be fine adding a couple of inches more then factory rims.
You are right bro I took the 22s off of my 07 Chrysler 300 and I sold them for 500 bucks and love riding stock . I just bought a 2005 bmw 745li in mint condition and the guy had the stock bmw rims on them . When I came the next day to pick up the car he had 22 inch rims on them . I told him I prefer the stock because it makes the car look more high end . He gave me the stock and said the car comes with both sets , the 22s are exactly the same the ones I sold lol STXRR
I wanna put some wheels on my ride just to make it pop, it's a 4 cylinder. So If I stay with 20's or below it won't mess anything up? I been looking at some 18's that are blacked out and would look nice.

Having after market rims is the same as oem rims of larger size. Even oem rims are launching in larger sizes when you jump into platinum and premium or black label categories. You tear your vehicle up by oversizing your rims more than what your vehicle can handle. Meaning that if its rubbing or you have to tuck them or put extensions on them more than likely you will be causing other damage. Also the way you drive has a huge part in all of that. Ive had nothing but brand new and or newer vehicles. Never had a problem with any of them and always had rims on them all. I think 85% of the time its the way you drive that tears crap up
And also every vehicle with rims that i traded into the dealer they gave me more value for it. And o always go in knowing bluebook and market values before hand.
Really anything 24” or better you have to cut and lift so yes value will decrease but 22s will slide on mostly any vehicle without the extra mods so you won’t hurt the value of the car and honestly these crown vics are so low in value why would you even be worried about the value of it just fix it up
I only buy aftermarket Hoops for looks, I know they will depreciate and quickly at that and that's okay. I keep the factory wheels anyway so when and if the car is sold, they will GO WITH the factory Hoops.
logic common since if you do put 22s on any modern car from the 2000s till now 22s is the largest size you should put on any vehicle with the exception of big body old school cars 24s will go good on them older cars only sir my point is this 22s are heavy and they will be a good fit on a large sedan if you replace your suspension parts and your brakes. But do not put a radical diameter wheel size on your car knowing the vehicle was not built to support wheels that large but if you prepare your vehicle before you put 22s on you should have a comfortable ride and keep your engine oil changed
I dnt think we missin the point he make a great point but if u got it $$ to do that then get it how u live. There is so much wrong with everything you are saying, your whole entire mindset about this is what you THINK not even something you have done or knowledgeable about. In the past few years there are many vehicles that come with stock 20’s or 22’s not 16’s or 17’s. Also cars these days are a lot stronger built and not the same less than 200 hp cars of the early 2000’s. There is so much more I could get into but it would be an essay, please be knowledgeable of a topic before speaking on it and spreading false narratives, if someone wants to do something to THEIR car then they should, they make millions of them and parts for them everyday, granted I’m not saying throw away money just saying it’s not the end of the world just because someone wants to customize THEIR car to THEIR liking. And yes I ride big rims DAILY along with many and many of friends of mine with no issues besides basic mechanical issues….
Take the custom wheels off and tell me if your car looks factory. It’s gone be a no because you don’t just put bigger wheels on there you actually have to modify the car for them to fit. A lift, maybe some cutting. Not to mention the ride quality goes out the window if don’t spend a ton of money. I’m all for customizing cars, but I’m also honest about what it takes and cost. Even you said it, everything good besides mechanical issues. If you buy a brand new truck and put custom wheel on it, the factory that made it will void your warranty. Not because the truck can’t handle it but because it’s will ruin other components. Thanks for the feedback.
These cars coming with stock 22s nowadays and I been driving 30s on my grand marquis over a year and 6s on my 2017 impala as a daily. If u do it right she keep up with maintenance you’ll be fine
As long as your rims weight difference in the stocks isn't super heavy you'll be fine granted you go with the correct size width/height... Cars tow 5 people tipically so whats that 500-800 lbs depending
Great video man. I was thinking about putting 24 on my 750li but ima just stick to 22s. I dont want anything rubbing, plus I don't wanna be riding ruff
People that get rims, already know all of this and they don't care. Plus there are instances where you can get rims and it doesn't affect anything except your wallet. For instance, if you buy a new truck, there is no problem putting 26 inch rims on a new truck.
Im from Philly big rims with rubberband tires can't happen. too many bad streets with nasty potholes everywhere. But you still see cars and trucks with them. Smh
I get the logic behind it but it's a price I'm gonna have to pay simply because I didn't buy a car to sell it if my goal was to sell it I would've have ever touched the rims or changed anything.
To hit on your comment about rims take away the value of the car not always it depends what aftermarket rims you put on the car now if you slap some 20s or 22 inch shinny chrome rims on a vehicle yes the value will drop but a nice machine finished or black colored rims that go with the vehicle the value remains the same.
Thanks, Bro, straight to the point and lots of info... Kindly advise: will a change from R18 to R19 cause harm in a Toyota Venza with original R18 wheels? Thanks

Yes sir.. I have forged 22 inch vossens, and their strong as shit.. with the right tire size, and tires.. no issues at all..
Well just found out my Pathfinder has stock 18” wheels and I wanna go 22” in black Velocity. Don’t know if 4” would matter or not.
It’s gonna make a difference lol
I love block velocity I want them to
My Camaro has stock 20s and I was on the fence about 22s. Since I have air suspension and the wheels I purchase will be wider (staggered) I'm sticking with 20s. I guess it depends on the car. Suvs and old classics sure but I don't like sports cars with oversized rims.
I'll be honest with y'all... I had 26's on a Yukon and I had 26's on a Escalade and I didn't have suspension problems with neither of those. I had issues with tires all the time the fuckin tires wouldn't last for shit. I also had a Chrysler 300 with 22s on it and I had suspension issues with that car all the time with just the 22s on it. Now i have a Infiniti M45 with 24s on it and i just repaired the suspension from the damage that the 22s that i had on it did. What can i say...i don't like to ride and look like everybody else. I have my own style and I'll pay to ride how i wanna ride.
Try 14-15" rims wit 80 series tires- who's riding on them? You will def. be different & who knows? , prob start a whole new trend for '21!
Exactly! I got 24s on my 2014 Dodge Charger and everything been good! Going to be doing 26s soon ... idc what problems come with them .... I like to stand out .. I feel you on that
@@evelynacosta4563 yeah I'm thinking about droppin 6's on mine too
@@smoothoperator7023 Lmao....thanks for the thought but I'll pass on that one 😂
J Supreme 813 DONT think lol ... just do it
Wheel size depends on vehicle. My Tahoe can run 30’s no problem. Should you, no. But it can be done. I’ve got 22’s on mine now and it rides fine
Wanted to get 22s on my Tahoe. But I’m concerned about the issues he just mentioned because it’s my daily driver. Could you give me some guidance?
I rode on 22’s for 4 months and never had any issues. You can daily a vehicle with 22’s. I drove my Tahoe everyday and on the highway.
@@Anythingautomotive does the Tahoe on 22’s really make a gas difference for daily?
Bout to slap some 22's on my Lex
Bro please will it be ok to put 20 inch rims on my Ford fusion SE 2010 the tire 🛞 sizes is 17 inch . I already had 20 inch but I wanted to know is 20 inch to heavy?
You can get away with upgrading to 20s. Do you know if they will fit without any lifting?
All I can say is that he's telling us the truth! Thank u bro
I benefit off the one's who buys brand new trucks and suv. I get them factory wheel and tire for less than 800 a set. With less than 500 miles. Do you know how much tires cost? 18-20 inch gmc denali wheels and Chevrolet wheels.
i was seriously gonna put a 7 inch lift and add 30s but I thought about it Hell naw
U dont need to cut anything to fit 22’s as long as use on road tires not offroad tires! Like all terrains. Just saying
People slap on wheels on something without upgrading nothing. Do it right your not gonna have these issues.
I don’t disagree. Actually you helped me to not want to get rims more! I already thought about when I get my crown Vic what would happened if I set the 22’s on would it mess up my transmission and on how everything would’ve gone so I want to say thanks brother I’ll just go with the custom stock and tuning up my crown Vic.💯
I got a 05 crown Victoria and got 24’s inch rims on it tire size is 255/30z R24
I recently copped a 2013 Chevy Suburban LTZ it came with the factory 20s I'm thinking of going 22 and no bigger because that is my daily driver and I am on the highway 24s look nice but I'm in Michigan and our roads are horrible and at least with 22 I still have some meat on my tires
A year later a cop some 24s for my Suburban used I got a hot deal on them I went with a 305 35 24 inch tires it rides good but I'm thinking about going to 285 40-24 because like I said I'm in Michigan and I roads are s*** I've had to replace two tires
I jus bought some 22 . Should I sell them now ? I thought 22 were ok on a crown Victoria tho ?
So you saying i cant put 24’s on my 2017 rav4???
I know of one newer with 26s on with no issues still
I don’t know why I found this so hilarious but you do have a solid point about they’ll cost you more in the long run than what they cost to buy… I had 28’s on my 2003 Tahoe 4x4… the transmission went out about 4 months after that😂
I recently bought a nice set of chrome 22s all 4 for 50 bucks
What about 22s on a 03 buick lesabre
Have Cadillac Escalade on 24 inch and try with 26 inch wheels and rode them on highways just slower.
Did you have to do any modifications to put the 22s on the 300
I wanna put some wheels on my ride just to make it pop, it's a 4 cylinder. So If I stay with 20's or below it won't mess anything up? I been looking at some 18's that are blacked out and would look nice.
Is forged aluminum rims better more lighter
Still putting my asanti rims on my 05 chevy impala n was on my chrysler sebring
14 years ago Put 22s on my century (it was clean I swear) 5 months later took a four hour trip to miami and screwed up my transmission. Feel every bump on skinny’s and speedometer was off. Look good tho 😒
This man is speaking the truth , i know its sad to hear this if your a rim enthusiast but he is saying what it really is .
I drive a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu LT. I'm buying a set of 20s. This will be the biggest wheels I've ever had mounted on a car. My first set of wheels was a some 16s on a 1995 Ford Escort LX. Around 2002 or 2003.
My plan for my first car is a 1991 Cadillac fleetwood on 22 inch daytons, is that a nice ride or should i go smaller?
I just got a 1965 impala SS and debating putting on some 20in chromes in it
With a car like that, sure go for it.
Back in 1995 I went from a factory 205/55/16 to a custom 235/45/17 on a sports car.
I thought I was hot sh*t. Lol

Right on, Lamont.
I remember when 20's first came out... I had the 18" Assassin's on a 1984 Crown Vic Lol... I was born in 86' and it was my first car and I remember going and getting 20" wires when they started selling 20's... It was always 17" and 18" and now it's 30" and 32" Lol... Crazy!!! #StaySafe & #StayBlessed #32Gang 🤘😎
I like rims my truck looks better with rims then stock and I have a 2018 GMC Sierra SLT and I’m planning on keeping the truck until the wheels fall off
I had 22” wheels on my 99 Tahoe. No issues. 305/55/22
My plan for my first car is a 1991 Cadillac Fleetwood on 22 inch daytons, is that a nice ride
Yes yes and yes
hello there, I will put 22's on my Cadillac Escalade esv because of the rim width, tread depth, and utq. I've been researching to make sure that I get the correct size wheels and rims for my truck
What can you buy that keeps value besides houses and stocks
Cars with rims not meant to driven everyday
I have an Audi. Audis come stock with 22's so I'll be good.
Exactly. New cars are coming stock from the factory with bigger wheels. Lol That kinda destroys the whole argument against bigger wheels. Maybe if we were still in the 90s, I would agree with this video, but new technology kinda disproves the idea that all larger wheels are bad.
What you think about 22's on a 2015 Buick Lacrosse that already comes with 19inch stocks? Wouldn't really hurt would it? Plus I'm looking for alloy or machined instead of chrome
I have a 2015 buick lacrosse 22s go str8 on had the vechile 4 years no problems except for wheel bearings
You right bruh bc every vehicle I had I had to put money into everything you mentioned for instance (2007 Range Rover Sport on 24's, 2004 Lincoln Town on 22's, 1996 as impala on 24's, 79 cutlass on 22's, 2015 Chevy Silverado on 28's etc. etc.
I have an 06 Town Car u think 20” wire wheels worth it?
I can get some clean 22 inch vct machines rims for the Vic for $300. They just don’t have the tires...u think it’s a go? I’m rocking 17 inch steely’s rite now. It’s an 2011 Vic
Tires gone run 150-200 each that’s gone put u around 600 to 800 just for the tires. If you can find a used set with some good tires that will be the best route
Street Cruising 101 I found a set of 4 lexani 22 inch tires for $350 shipped. I’m out here in Texas so I think I should do it. I’m from philly where the potholes is crazy but out here it seems all the roads are smooth. I think this might be the time to do it
I drive trucks so I don't drive my GM alot so I should be good w the 22s I just bought I hope
Got 22's on my Elco can't stand them. Can't make u-turns hard on bad roads. Gettin' rid of them assp get some 20's
I just got mines a white one 77k 2007 I was thinking about some 22s myself but idk I my just Lyft it pipe it and do some tint and a system
Can’t go gone that way. Easier to resell also
Facts big homie
Really anything 24” or better you have to cut and lift so yes value will decrease but 22s will slide on mostly any vehicle without the extra mods so you won’t hurt the value of the car and honestly these crown vics are so low in value why would you even be worried about the value of it just fix it up
I only buy aftermarket Hoops for looks, I know they will depreciate and quickly at that and that's okay. I keep the factory wheels anyway so when and if the car is sold, they will GO WITH the factory Hoops.
I feel you my nigga but I'm bout to bolt up..30s goin on my Infiniti QX56 and 22s goin on my 2015 Linc MKZ..lol
It's your toy. Do you.
Frfr. I'm bolting up fasho! Lol
logic common since if you do put 22s on any modern car from the 2000s till now 22s is the largest size you should put on any vehicle with the exception of big body old school cars 24s will go good on them older cars only sir my point is this 22s are heavy and they will be a good fit on a large sedan if you replace your suspension parts and your brakes. But do not put a radical diameter wheel size on your car knowing the vehicle was not built to support wheels that large but if you prepare your vehicle before you put 22s on you should have a comfortable ride and keep your engine oil changed
Great advice, a lot of these people missing the point in these comments. But you're absolutely right. Thanks.
Thanks
I dnt think we missin the point he make a great point but if u got it $$ to do that then get it how u live. Ppl buying rims ain't worried abt the value goin down we tryin to look good for the moment and when ever a person gets to old for them big rims then go back to stock..its all abt whats yo preference
@@braedengoodwin5939 I agree with you, But there are still those who ARE missing the point.
@@BusinessmanRichman that is crazy - I had a 1997 Crown Vic with 23 inch rims on it back around 2004 - but you are telling the truth about everything that you said - but the only thing about your message is (anybody who puts 26 inch rims on cars is not going to listen) 🤣 I ain't going to lie, a guy told me dam near everything that you mentioned before I started putting rims on cars and I still didn't listen - Our culture don't want to hear the truth - we just want to know how much the ball joints cost after the whole car drops down to the ground and bends the fender into the front door and now we can't even open the passenger door on the front of the car 🤣 Trust Me I Know 🤣 great video tho 👍🏾 maybe you will reach one knuckle head 🤣
When you say “rims”, do you mean “wheels”? Because the stock “16-inch-wheels” are still technically called “rims”... aren’t they? Or do I have it wrong?
B3burner “rims” 20-22+
When he uses the word "Rims".... he's talking about after market Wheels and tires usually a few inches bigger than the factory stock wheels originally sold on the vehicles. The younger generation uses the term "Rims" vs "Wheels".
Quis Buffett that Dumbass knows. People do this to be assholes. Anyone listening knows what he means due to the context. He could be saying cookies and it would be obvious what he is talking about.
@B3_Burner
So what's the difference between food and meal? rims = wheels you dummy.
RT I've 24s on my tahoe 20'' on my e500 benz 18'' on my s500 you can always sell rims on ebay or any site but they have to be kleen not scrap up or scratch. Rims are personal expression and can be flipped if classic keep original wheels got to pay the cost to be the BOSS have fun.
I on 24s in benz love it!!!!!
I run stocks during winter season and summer time cruising them 22s
If u do it right she keep up with maintenance you’ll be fine
this man is spitting facts but ima still rock them skin skin tires
I never got the whole monster truck rims on a car and cruzzin 🤷♂️
Goody best cars to put rims on they are more durable especially if you do the upgrades and especially if you got ls or 350
Glad my car came with factory 20s cause I’m getting some more 22s
You passed 23’s
And we do 32, 33s in Houston Tx
Stock wheels on my expedition and navigator. Im not gonna mess with it
Just subbed. You on point my brotha. It also damages the transmission too.
Thanks
Im from Philly big rims with rubberband tires can't happen. too many bad streets with nasty potholes everywhere. But you still see cars and trucks with them. Smh
I get the logic behind it but it's a price I'm gonna have to pay simply because I didn't buy a car to sell it if my goal was to sell it I would've have ever touched the rims or changed anything.
Will 22s on a Vic be good or too big?
22 will be straight, they allow you to run a bigger tire.
Anything above 22 is bad for a everyday driver.
For those that say they have bigger rims with no issues, you will not see the issue immediately. Give it time and the issues will come.
my 22 chromes are lighter than stock 19s. its a W my boy
Dang🤦🏿 my truck came with 22s stock 💁🏿♂️
He's absolutely right
You should never go over 2 sizes From factory anything else is over kill and could mess frontend up
Thanks, Bro, straight to the point and lots of info...
Kindly advise: will a change from R18 to R19 cause harm in a Toyota Venza with original R18 wheels?
Thanks
So much truth on this video. I always try to talk friends or people out Buying rims because of the reason that you basically have to re-customize your car, long story short like you said...
you’re spending a lot of money and you’re also depreciating the value of your vehicle if you’re planning on selling it in the future. Especially the suspension and wheel balance of your car.
