It's a psychological trick. If you've watched now you see me, one of the most memorable parts would be when jesse eisenberg did the "7 of diamonds" trick in the beginning. Therefore, when you think of now you see me (especially since the title of the review is literally that), most of the time we would relate it to the number "7."
Sat down to eat dinner whilst watching "think of a number between one and ten". "Seven" I thought, whilst taking a bite out of a taco. Well played sir Jeremy!
40% of the ppl pick seven... in a 1 out of 10 "random" choice. Go to Numberphile channel if you care to hear more about it! It's pretty cool. And no, I do not, in any way, work or am associated withat that channel other than I subbed cause it was pretty cool! =)
***** I don't remember exactly WHICH one cause ti's been over a year since I watched it, but, it's a video about crad and magic tricks, should be easy enough to find! =)
This movie was, in my eyes, just AWESOME!!!! I loved every frame of it, and Jesse Eisenberg was great, so was the rest of the cast... NOW YOU SEE ME is my favourite movie of the year, so far.
I think the twist was pretty shit and cheap, because it really didn't have any context, no hints to it in the movie. Kind of like, well we ran out of ideas, but here's a twist to make the movie look like it had some substance. Plus the movie itself was very generic and full of cliches
I actually loved this movie. It was fun, the characters were awesome and the chemistry was great. I actually got it on Blu Ray because I enjoyed the hell out of it. The deleted scenes had to be my favourite parts. They did try and patch up the ending but, ehh.
Ok... but this isn’t a review of The Prestige... also, yes, I absolutely did just reply to a 4 year old comment you almost definitely don’t remember writing.
i remember my friend was showing me this movie and I saw the water trap and michael caine so i thought it was a satire reference, and then i showed my friend The Prestige
+Chole Kuwawa I wouldn't say that was why, it was most likely the fact he kept having 7 fingers up. He does this twice, the first when he says one and ten, the second is when he is says 'don't tell me what it is'
When Jeremy says "Don't tell me what it is" , you can see he is making a number 7 with his hands ( 5 left hand , plus 2 right hand on his head ) , involuntarily making your subconscious work on that number. That my friends is magic. Knowing how to explore the human mind without we even noticing it :D My hat to you Jeremy.
My favourite magician comes with some bias because I am a working magician. For me my favourite magician is "Murray Sawchuck." I pick my favourite from these factors. .Likeable personality .Entertainment factor .Sleight of hand .Presentation .Versatility .Not Criss Angel And now you know.
one of the worst movies i have seen since the happening. it was so all over the place, rushed, random as shit and everything was just spoonfed to us. it had potential but fell so flat and i just felt embarrassed for the director. the wannabe shamallama dingdong twist at the end was cringe worthy too.
I liked this movie because I don't watch it fifteen billion times to find the smallest problems. This was more action than plot and that's what it should have been. It was cool to watch and I was suprised by the ending.
I don't understand why this got so much hate, I freaking loved it! The ending was not the best but it was still good, it still had me glued to the screen an on the edge of my seat the entire time
Ha, your trick didn't work, I chose 1, because this movie is a 1 out of 10. The plot was so bad. Like they have Morgan Freeman's character to try this ground this movie into reality, but this movie defies anyone's suspension of disbelief. Why set up rules in this movie like it's the real world, when everything that happens in this movie is impossible. Sorry my logical mind just couldn't except it, unless of course they used "real" magic. I Felt seriously angry after watching this movie. Tied for worst movie of the year for me, with Only God Forgives.
Nothing is impossible. Only highly improbable. U pretty much seem to have done the thing the movie was saying not to do the entire time. You looked too close. Some of the tricks have been done or theoretically can be done by illusionists. Others...I mean...come on lol. Its a movie. Exaggeration is a hallmark of Hollywood. I mean hey if the movie wasn't your cup of tea no biggie. your entitled to your own opinion.
Not to mention that the writer was probably trying to make one of those twists you would never guess but it instead turns into the killer for the movie.
this movie sucked, it had so much potential: the cast, the premise seemed good until the big reveal, it was a piece of shit and the twits sucked. i hear they are making a sequel, hopefully its a remake with a better story.
I 100% agree. Criss Angel is a fake basically. Idk how much of what he does is fake. But that video where he swaps the legs of those two people, is just camera tricks.
Cameron Jones i hated it soooo much, but it depends on how important is to you that the story makes sense vs. just being amused for a couple hours. But i think it does require alcohol to like it lol
MAGICBUCSSOX Both movies have a "HAHA, it was me all along"-scene at the end. In Prestige it was clever, but here it's just sooo dumb and makes no sense at all. Who even wrote that terrible script...
I am not going to pass judgement as I haven't seen either film, but I hope you would be thinking both films individually rather than just thinking, 'They are both films about magicians, therefore they are the same'. Which is like comparing Twilight to TFIOS, both cheesy and about love but they execute it differently, in the same way I imagine these two films executed magic, with the Prestige focusing on rivalry and Now you see me focusing on, what was it? Heists? I'm not sure. Basically these films have a premise, magic for the Prestige and NYSM, and love for Twilight and TFIOS, but they go about it in different ways, like I just said for the two magic films.
Luca Munro Of course. However, both films were about rivalry, only NYSM has an Ocean's Eleven motif. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that the rivalry is between Morgan Freeman's character and the magicians. Very poorly executed.
I picked a number you would never guess... 2.1687814876674768254762548865348564871587468548676256286368479164784757497578158752767158761681287167457927527452792597572469541754751469754129757145575429715815247582617538257145235237957325792795279252397573282925975927357325759158572587258752753725453727528758258325816878148766747682547625488653485648715874685486762562863684791647847574975781587527671587616812871674579275274527925975724695417547514697541297571455754297158152475826175382571452352379573257927952792523975732829259759273573257591585725872587527537254537275287582583258168781487667476825476254886534856487158746854867625628636847916478475749757815875276715876168128716745792752745279259757246954175475146975412975714557542971581524758261753825714523523795732579279527925239757328292597592735732575915857258725875275372545372752875825832581687814876674768254762548865348564871587468548676256286368479164784757497578158752767158761681287167457927527452792597572469541754751469754129757145575429715815247582617538257145235237957325792795279252397573282925975927357325759158572587258752753725453727528758258325874397948372977427274327479823723797278746278468747743876387468764876487648764768746874687456874876548764589373798798380294737928742978573678726979483647723746329877236 Its between 1 and 10 people.
Yeah, don't worry, people understood it. It's not like it's a complex, ambiguous, or philosophical movie or something, it just had a stupid twist for the sake of it.
I think I got it ;) Look at his hand motions when he says "Don't tell me what it is" When you're supposed to think about a number. His open palm shows 5 fingers and he's holding 2 at his forehead. Your subconsious (spelling?) counts them (5+2) That's the reason I think of ^^
Yes, that is certainly true. I was trying to choose another card yet, as you say, 7 of diamonds is the one that lingers more to the public, easier for the eye to see and brain to retain it.
the prestige with Hugh jack-man and Christian bale was really epic , those are my favs when it comes to illusion magicians but sorcerers is another thing to talk about.
I really enjoyed the movie too, took me a while to get the ending however but I enjoyed it fine. Really hope you review the sequel when it comes out cause I'd love to know your thoughts on it :)
I felt this movie would have been better overall if they would have moved the magic trick the four horsemen performed on Michael Cain from the middle of the movie to the end. That would have been a great ending
The reason most of you chose 7 is because he showed you 7 fingers the entire time he was asking lol. Rewatch the intro I chose 10 lol. Nobody ever chooses 10
My favorite Magician is David Copperfield but that's probably because he's been my childhood hero forever and his performances blow your mind even after you figure out his tricks. (Spoiler Alert: Fly Wires) I also love Piff the Magic Dragon, Mat Franco, and Penn and Teller (I've heard his voice and can guarantee you won't need Morgan Freeman anymore when you hear it)
The movie could have been really good. I like how some of the tricks were explained, and the overall glamour of what was happening really made it feel like a show on stage, but what killed it was the lack of focus on the characters. You're left rooting for every single character in the movie by the end of it (other than the rich investor) because there's no real focus other than "magic". Lame. We should feel some sort of victory to identify with the characters by the end, and that's definitely not in this film. It was more like, "oh, I see what you did the- CREDITS!!"
I think that the people who say this movie was a mess that didn't make sense are the people who weren't listening to the small, seemingly insignificant details thrown in throughout the movie that make the movie make sense. I personally was engaged the whole time so I picked up on those small things and I loved the movie
What I am saying is that when you look at the chance of someone picking the number 7 vs for instance someone picking the number 1 the likelyhood of someone picking 7 is higher. Also you approach this as if looking at a die, but we are looking at peoples choices which are quite baised.
I know that they wanted Jack to look like he died, but it is way forced if you think that they knew which car to put on which bus to drive at the exact place and time so that in a second Jack's car would be hidden whilst the agent's car is right behind the bus. No f***ing way. It was a bridge, so they couldn't even wait for the car on the side. Lastly, the Eye is a league of magicians, not bulletproof chosen ones. He wants the four to succeed for his revenge after all. So why try so hard? Nope.
People, the reason why he chose seven is because between 1 and 10, most people DO choose 7. Why? Because of dice. If you roll two dice (in most major boards games there is 2, as well as gambling) the most common number pair between the two is 7. Plus the culture of thinking 7 is lucky because of this exact reason. Hence you are more likely to think of seven. Other two popular numbers are 3 and 4, which also happen to add up to seven.
did you watch it online I did and i was also confused about the ending but i read a spoiler summary of the ending and that scene is not mentioned so im guessing someone edited with the copy
Best magician? Someone who can make the pencil disappear
The joker?
peegeetips i thought the same thing when i seen this. You my friend are the man and or female.
John Wick.
Heath Ledger’s Joker of course😁
I’ll make it disappear. You won’t believe it will appear up in your ass.
I must say that I found this movie to be very entertaining.
The weird thing is, my number was 7. You got it right.
Hahaha SAME :P
It's a psychological trick. If you've watched now you see me, one of the most memorable parts would be when jesse eisenberg did the "7 of diamonds" trick in the beginning. Jine Lino also my fav number
Mine too
Did no-one realise that when Jeremy did that trick, he showed us only seven of his fingers?
Sat down to eat dinner whilst watching "think of a number between one and ten". "Seven" I thought, whilst taking a bite out of a taco.
Well played sir Jeremy!
i seriously choose 7 lol
40% of the ppl pick seven... in a 1 out of 10 "random" choice. Go to Numberphile channel if you care to hear more about it! It's pretty cool. And no, I do not, in any way, work or am associated withat that channel other than I subbed cause it was pretty cool! =)
wtbanyname which video was it?
***** I don't remember exactly WHICH one cause ti's been over a year since I watched it, but, it's a video about crad and magic tricks, should be easy enough to find! =)
Alright, thanks!
Ofcourse you choose 7. he lets you see 7 fingers twice. so subconsciously you pick 7.
Most people pick the number 7 and he held up 7 fingers when he told you to pick a number.
My fave magician is Neil Patrick Harris :D
This movie was, in my eyes, just AWESOME!!!! I loved every frame of it, and Jesse Eisenberg was great, so was the rest of the cast... NOW YOU SEE ME is my favourite movie of the year, so far.
Gob from "Arrested Development". Best. Magician. Ever. Look me in the face and tell me that's not true.
Holy crap
I chose seven!!!!
I was thinking of 7. 0_0
He held 7 fingers up
And to me, the ending was a good twist! It caught me off guard, but still made sense to me!
SkaiaSkull15 yeahh man what should i say what a ending 😀😆😂. fuxk... no words . great movie loved it
I think the twist was pretty shit and cheap, because it really didn't have any context, no hints to it in the movie. Kind of like, well we ran out of ideas, but here's a twist to make the movie look like it had some substance. Plus the movie itself was very generic and full of cliches
@@heamees4822 wtf do you mean yes there were threwout the entire movie there where hints ik this is 5 years old but lol
Damn the finger trick actually worked on me
I actually loved this movie. It was fun, the characters were awesome and the chemistry was great. I actually got it on Blu Ray because I enjoyed the hell out of it. The deleted scenes had to be my favourite parts. They did try and patch up the ending but, ehh.
my number is 7 too :O freeeeakkkyyyyyyy
Lol
The Prestige is a waaaaaay better magic movie.
Ok... but this isn’t a review of The Prestige... also, yes, I absolutely did just reply to a 4 year old comment you almost definitely don’t remember writing.
i remember my friend was showing me this movie and I saw the water trap and michael caine
so i thought it was a satire reference, and then i showed my friend The Prestige
Tfw you actually did pick seven ._.
It's because most people think of seven because it is a very popular lucky number
*+Chloe Kuwawa* I wouldn't say popular, but yeah it is said to be a lucky number.
+Chole Kuwawa I wouldn't say that was why, it was most likely the fact he kept having 7 fingers up. He does this twice, the first when he says one and ten, the second is when he is says 'don't tell me what it is'
It’s been 7 years and this man still was able to guess my number, his witchcraft transcends time
wtf dude, 7 it was the number
OMG WTF! IT WAS ACTUALLY 7!
That's usually the number people pick. Subconsciously most people feel 7 is lucky.
i loved this movie i thought is was epic
The end of the movie made me feel like the biggest trick of all was just played on the audience.
Shut the fuck up
fart
When Jeremy says "Don't tell me what it is" , you can see he is making a number 7 with his hands ( 5 left hand , plus 2 right hand on his head ) , involuntarily making your subconscious work on that number.
That my friends is magic. Knowing how to explore the human mind without we even noticing it :D
My hat to you Jeremy.
Much as I liked the cast (and yes, Isla Fisher - well said Jeremy), I thought this film was kind of high on itself about how clever it thought it was.
The ending was great! a bigger twist then the sixth sense.
My favourite magician comes with some bias because I am a working magician. For me my favourite magician is "Murray Sawchuck." I pick my favourite from these factors.
.Likeable personality
.Entertainment factor
.Sleight of hand
.Presentation
.Versatility
.Not Criss Angel
And now you know.
I actually picked 7 it's my favorite number.
Probably one of my favorite movies ever
I chose 7 that's pretty cool ;)
Review For Now You See Me 2???
It fucking sucks.
It's awesome! A lot of action and some back story as well!
+Sara Josipović awesome. thanks.
but you just gotta love that plot twist!
one of the worst movies i have seen since the happening. it was so all over the place, rushed, random as shit and everything was just spoonfed to us. it had potential but fell so flat and i just felt embarrassed for the director. the wannabe shamallama dingdong twist at the end was cringe worthy too.
hi shoe
In my opinion the movie is amazing.
Thank you
Shoe0nHead the happening is an icon up there with birdemic and the room,it cant be compared to this mediocre trash.
You really have to be drunk to think that this movie is smart.
the end of that movie made me sit forward in a 'holy fucking shit' twist surprise moment.
I liked this movie because I don't watch it fifteen billion times to find the smallest problems. This was more action than plot and that's what it should have been. It was cool to watch and I was suprised by the ending.
I picked 7.
I don't understand why this got so much hate, I freaking loved it! The ending was not the best but it was still good, it still had me glued to the screen an on the edge of my seat the entire time
Wow I picked 7
It is the most picked one when you chose between one and ten. Between one and four it is three
My favorite magician is Disturb Reality/Jarek:120 Disturb Reality
Although Jarek is not the best in magic, he's really cool with his personality.
The ending was ridiculous. Ruined the movie for me. Everything about the movie was good up until the last 5-6 minutes
chose 7 :D
Ha, your trick didn't work, I chose 1, because this movie is a 1 out of 10. The plot was so bad. Came for the review, stayed to have my mind blown
this movie sucked, it had so much potential: the cast, the premise seemed good until the big reveal, it was a piece of shit and the twits sucked. i hear they are making a sequel, hopefully its a remake with a better story.
You sir have a very controversial opinion. This movie gave me chills the end was. Just to good for words. Aahahahah. I freaking love this movie
David Blaine is the greatest magician
Him or criss angel
Puting up with shit is not magic
Uri Geller.
I 100% agree. Criss Angel is a fake basically. Idk how much of what he does is fake. But that video where he swaps the legs of those two people, is just camera tricks.
3 Things
1. My number was 8
2. My fave magician is Dynamo
3. You just persuaded me to watch Now You See Me
Cameron Jones i hated it soooo much, but it depends on how important is to you that the story makes sense vs. just being amused for a couple hours. But i think it does require alcohol to like it lol
Damn I only seen this now wow I'm late
Did not like this movie. It's a wannabe The Prestige.
It's nothing like the prestige
If you say so.
MAGICBUCSSOX
Both movies have a "HAHA, it was me all along"-scene at the end. In Prestige it was clever, but here it's just sooo dumb and makes no sense at all.

e?
@IndianaKong95 - Ohhhhhh .... you are SOOOOOO funny !! (Not!)
Yh stupid movie
I love this move. It's all about, *'MISDIRECTION'*
If your movie has a shitty ending that makes no sense, you have a shitty movie that makes no sense. Simple as that!
Yeah, don't worry, people understood it. It's not like it's a complex, ambiguous, or philosophical movie or something, it just had a stupid twist for the sake of it.
@_____ re: "shitty" If your only adjective known is "shitty," then your comment makes no sense. Simple as that!
i thought the end was amazing
Norman Ng, he came to perform at college once and it was awesome! And for the record, I picked 7 too.
its funny how you love every stinking actress in every single movie you watch, make a top 10 hottest chick of 2013 video :P
I was actually looking at my hands at the start, but I also chose 7! I had to pause and comment, because seriously, you did blown my mind!
I think I got it ;)
Look at his hand motions when he says "Don't tell me what it is" When you're supposed to think about a number. His open palm shows 5 fingers and he's holding 2 at his forehead.
Your subconsious (spelling?) counts them (5+2)
That's the reason I think of ^^
I FUCKING ACCTUALLY CHOSE A 7 NO FUCKINGG CAP HOW😱
that opening joke was brilliant "1 in 10 chance i blew your mind"
that snapping to change the picture was indeed magic lol
1:10 *you dont need to say more i am already sold on this being worth watching
Very entertaining movie, good visuals, great cast! Ocean's 11 will never be beaten- it's the mother of all heist movies to me.
I hated the cinematography in this film
@JeremyJahns, I used to hate the intestines out of you, but I've become to like you as a critic. Subscribed you are.
Yes, that is certainly true. I was trying to choose another card yet, as you say, 7 of diamonds is the one that lingers more to the public, easier for the eye to see and brain to retain it.
I fuckin picked 7 and knew he was gonna say 7 and still went with fuckin 7. Damn you Jeremy and your mind control
the prestige with Hugh jack-man and Christian bale was really epic , those are my favs when it comes to illusion magicians but sorcerers is another thing to talk about.
Review "The Prestige". It's a magic movie starring Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale,co-written,produced,and directed by Christopher Nolan.
The reason most of you chose 7 is because he showed you 7 fingers the entire time he was asking lol. Rewatch the intro
I chose 10 lol. Nobody ever chooses 10
If you're thinking of watching this movie, find the extended version and watch that one. It makes much more sense & makes the movie much better!
My favourite magician is probably Dynamo, he does some pretty cool tricks and he's a cool guy as well
Thanks for blowing my mind BTW. I love your reviews as always
I CHOSE 7 just because it's my favourite number
My favorite Magician is David Copperfield but that's probably because he's been my childhood hero forever and his performances blow your mind even after you figure out his tricks. (Spoiler Alert: Fly Wires)
I also love Piff the Magic Dragon, Mat Franco, and Penn and Teller (I've heard his voice and can guarantee you won't need Morgan Freeman anymore when you hear it)
I vaguely remember spotting a 2 in the deck as well before the 7 of diamonds came up, but I made a conscious choice to go with the 7.
Actually, the reason that trick works is because most people pick 7 when asked for a number between 1 and 10. It's nothing to do with fingers.
congratulations, jerm. you got ma numba
Jeremy! You should review The Prestige! That is perhaps the best magic trick movie ever!
I think that the people who say this movie was a mess that didn't make sense are the people who weren't listening to the small, seemingly insignificant details thrown in throughout the movie that make the movie make sense. I personally was engaged the whole time so I picked up on those small things and I loved the movie
People try so hard to hate this movie. Do you think your better than everyone else cause you hate something a lot people like?
They actually just edited the footage in a way that the 7 on screen a tiny bit longer.
What I am saying is that when you look at the chance of someone picking the number 7 vs for instance someone picking the number 1 the likelyhood of someone picking 7 is higher. Also you approach this as if looking at a die, but we are looking at peoples choices which are quite baised.
I loved this movie!
I agree with your rating. I actually was expecting the twist at the end, but I still got excited when it happened because I was right.
I Like Derren Brown, although im not sure if he's classed as a illusionist rather than a magician?!
I like rahat , from youtube his magic is always dealing with fast food!
wow Jeremy just blow away my mind with his magic in this video !
Statistically I think 7 is most likely to get picked so you mightve blown more minds than you think.
The end was like, HOLY SH*T, but then it had you like WAIT, WTF?
Other two popular numbers are 3 and 4, which also happen to add up to seven.
discount The Prestige
This movie is really underrated
National Treasure is a good comparison. Mostly because towards the end I was like, "Isn't this the music from National Treasure?"
You chose 7 because it was the number in the film;)
Magic of Rahat the RUclipsr is awesome ! Great movie and great movie review too!
I'm gonna give a shout out to my friend Funny Frank Olivier. He's a magician, a unicyclist and a juggler. With fire.
He was on America's Got Talent
did you watch it online I did and i was also confused about the ending but i read a spoiler summary of the ending and that scene is not mentioned so im guessing someone edited with the copy
