Nick, to say that you are such a hard worker would be an understatement. Your work ethic is amazing and I have such respect for you sticking to what you originally quoted the customer--that is something you cannot put a price on! Great job!
Hey Andrew, yep they were very pleased, they new it wasn't going to look perfect, I think they're just more relieved the paint's gone, and now they can get it repaired 👍
I have to say that my jaw dropped when you showed us the job for today. Wow. But the colors on the second half of that wall...brilliant. Great job, stop nitpicking your work!!! 😉 Thanks for sharing, have a great week. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The 1960/70s were decades where property preservation had some totally horrific ideas. I live in a house that suffered from 'housing grant renovations' I think they have done more damage than saved the property from further decay, the garden walls have the same mixture of paints you are contending with here. People shouldn't expect perfection when they have no real idea of what is lurking beneath. If they want perfection, the answer is to knock down what is there and start again.
Wow, so much patience and great work. I would be so happy if I was the homeowner. Appreciate your fair treating of this client. You should consider a rolling garden stool to save your back on the low parts. Stay safe out there. 💛
You have the courage to face your worst challenge. That courage will take you far in life. Once you decide to take something on, don't be afraid to ask for help.
It’s 1000% better than it was and other than the few missing bricks you can’t even tell that there is any damage or paint stuck in a few places. Impressive result
I was thinking oh no Nicks back has got to be hurting 😔 and the very next shot you are sitting on a bucket 😂 Smart! Your a very good man to follow through on your word and quote 💕 Truly the worst messiest thing I’ve seen you work on, but, I was positive it would be looking great after you tackled it. You never disappoint 👍👍
What's going on? how have I missed this comment from the lovely Randi? Thanks Randi, you always make such kind comments ❤️. Yeah, God bless the bucket, my back was starting to feel the strain for sure. "what can I use" this battered old bucket will do nicely 😆
I know you think it wasn’t a great job, but I think it turned out well. The colours are very pretty. However it looks like a section was re-built using completely the wrong colour brick. What a shame. I don’t think anyone would think this a bad job. Well done. 👏👏
Wow, you amaze me with your honesty and ethics. This job is terrible, but you've faced it head-on. I hope you are blessed with months of simple, quick jobs that make up for the difficulty of this one.
I fit bathrooms and give a quote but with a warning that they get charged for unforeseen work such as removing tiles and plaster board coming away with tiles. Many years ago I used to stick to my prices but not now. Unforeseen is the word of the day. 😂 Loving your videos.
Looks hundred times better and good on you for honouring the original quote. I'm sure word of mouth will ensure you make that back plenty of times over.
Just starting to watch.. Bloody hell. Good luck with it I cant conceive of how its possible.. Wow...so every three seconds was a minute...? You've got the concentration of a Buddhist monk. 😂 Seen the video now. That wall is gorgeous... Pinks, blues, reds, yellows, greens. Amazing.
Jeeeeez fella you’re an absolute gentleman. You’re right tho. Reputation is everything. Hopefully they watch this and throw you a few more coins. You deserve that. Top work as always me young china😎
Awesome work, we are abrasive blasters in NZ, was a good choice to soda blast. We’ve done pools with the rubber coating, complete nightmare. We usually estimate on jobs sight unseen, bloody hard. You’re a hard worker it really shows👍
Man Nick that was a nasty job 😮 Sorry you are taking a hit but good on you for sticking with your quote a lot would not have and to be fair no-one would have blamed you for upping your quote. You sounded so exhausted and slightly defeated at the end there I hope you got some rest afterwards you truly deserved it. Love and Hugs 🤗 to you all 😊
If I won the lottery and had a million dollars to give away, it would be yours!, you are such a hard worker and seem to be an honest man. God bless you and your family ❤
Maybe because the whole left side was rebuilt using completely different bricks. The part on the right looks original to me because it matches the house.
Aww, you sounded so disheartened at the end, so let me give a *virtual hug* to you 😢 It's absolutely amazing how you saw it through. Though the damage is even more apparent now... wouldn't it be cheaper to demolish it and build a new wall? :/ The missing bricks are all over the wall.
The house I rent looks exactly the same & now I know why the bricks are eroding thanks to you Nick 🙂 The landlord wanted to render the house, but got quoted a huge amount to remove the paint first ... no wonder !! Needless to say, the landlord has just left it to look awful instead 🙄 You did a brilliant job on this one 👍
Wow Nick, it looks amazing! I think it was a great job. Too bad the owners did not offer one more day of pay. They had to be aware they were getting a very good deal.
Amazing result! That’s what I call perfect and didn’t expect the outcome considering I’ve had the dastardly job of applying this paint to a new extension to match the existing coat on the rest of the house. It’s a resinous based product that essentially forms a plastic coat when cured. It’s really for the commercial industry but sadly finds its way into domestic trade and wreaks havoc on homeowners. In my case the client had no issue with the existing paint or any damp/condensation problems which I put down to the property being on a very steep hilled suburb
So satisfying to watch. I'd imagine not so satisfying to carry out lol. For future could you do a small sample area when quoting just to make sure you know if it will take longer than normal so you're not out of pocket?
Tremendous job Nick, and it looks great! You go the extra mile on every job, even if it turns out to be way more than quoted for. I really like the teaching aspect to your videos, to homeowners and cleaners. I did not know coating brick with a sealant would cause them to corrode, you would think it would protect and preserve it. And all can see what a job it is to clean it back off. Again, another job well done!
My goodness, what a mess! You did a brilliant job Nick! Been a minute, but its so great to see your videos as always dear boy! Tough one indeed. Hope you and yours are all well Nick. All the best to you, sending Texas sized hugs out to you 😊
Well Nick your amazing you can turn your hand to any job well done bud appreciate its long drawn out thing doing it the way you did but hey what a job 😎👍!!
Still a ton of work to be done on that wall. Replacing damaged bricks and re-pointing will make it look heaps better but man, what a lot of work you have done!
some you win and some you lose. i am sure it will be made up to you in the future. you didn't budge on your quote and sure the client knew it was more costly than what you said. it turned out very well.
I loved this video. I found it sooo...relaxing. So much so that I have put it on my bucket list so that I can have a go. Haha. I recently moved home, and had a small porch taken down at the back of the house. The wall in the porch was painted and is now exposed to the elements. I want to remove the paint off it. A question please. Does the pressure of the hot water have any effect on the porosity of the brick face? Take care, and thanks.
The garage on my house had been painted with that horrible plastic masonry paint, it was wrecking the brickwork (which TBF was crap anyway) really flaky. In the end last year and ended up rendering it just to try and tidy it up.
Nick, to say that you are such a hard worker would be an understatement. Your work ethic is amazing and I have such respect for you sticking to what you originally quoted the customer--that is something you cannot put a price on! Great job!
I appreciate that, thank you cleopatra, so kind of you 💕🥰
Well Nick you are a trooper for doing that job. I hope the clients are Happy despite the walls condition

Yep. The various brownstone type house in the northeast covered in layers of paints are dissolving inside their pigmented prisons.
Shame the beautiful bricks were painted! Great on you for tackling the wall and cleaning it so well.
Wow, so much patience and great work. I would be so happy if I was the homeowner. Appreciate your fair treating of this client. You should consider a rolling garden stool to save your back on the low parts. Stay safe out there. 💛
Thank you very much Stacey ❤️
I had the same thought. I kept thinking "your poor back!"
What an amazing job you have done DONT WORRY IT WILL COME BACK TO YOU 2 FOULD
You have the courage to face your worst challenge. That courage will take you far in life. Once you decide to take something on, don't be afraid to ask for help.
How kind, thank you Sharyn, great advice too ☺️
Living in Oregon, I'm always impressed at the vast amount of bricks and stonework in the UK for walls, buildings, patios, etc.
I’m amazed by the opposite: the vast amount of wood and drywall you use in the States. In Europe we don’t have so much wood for construction.
Wow that was some hard going Nick! Well done for smashing it as usual.
Thanks very much for the upload, have a brilliant week :)
Fair play to you Nick. Integrity goes a long way and you have bags of it! great job!
Thanks very much, I really appreciate that 👍
I was exhausted just watching you! What a brilliant job you did and for much less money than you should have got. You are an honest man😊
Nick. That was stellar work! Backbreaking but stellar none the less. The wall looked gorgeous when it was finished. 🎉
Great Job Dont worry we all take hits on some jobs.5 STAR Video
Thanks bud 🙂
My arms are aching just watching!! Good job.

Great job. What a nice difference!
You are a leader in your profession. I have no doubt you will make short work of it and get the accolades you deserve. Australia says Hi.
It looks better without the paint.
Terrific work, mate. You can almost hear the bricks heaving a sigh of a relief that they can finally breathe again! 💪 👍
😄 Indeed mate. Thanks for the great feedback dude 👍

What a Job that was! Looks so much better with the white paint off
You did the best you could with what you had, on a wall that looked bad anyway. Nice work, Nick!
Wow, thanks bud ☺️
🇨🇦as always you did an outstanding job given the situation. Love the videos
Wow what a hard job.Good job done
