Not necessarily. The new B58 platform has been proven very reliable and not only reliable but very performance orientated. A stock M340i will destroy this IS500 from the dig and on the roll. If they were both to mod their cars FBO with tunes the M340i will completely destroy the IS500. Plus the M340i looks better both interior and exterior. Especially interior being that it’s a whole new redesigned interior and technology compared to this Lexus old and boring interior and trash technology.
People who talk negatively about its transmission don't really know how to use it... Put it in manual, sport +, traction off, pedal to the metal, and see how fast it shifts. It's the fastest shifting non-DC 8-speed at 100ms only...
I picked up my 2023 IS 500 f-sport performance premium in Ultra White/black interior on December 1st and am in love. It was all that was available, I waited over 6 months and picked it up from Meade Lexus of Southfield Mi. Trans is pretty good in manual mode in sport +, it shifts fast and hard. I like the size of the car, feels small and light and the engine is a dream. seats/driving position is great as well. I have two car seats in the rear, and the kids fit fine. stock tires are not great, I plan to upgrade to pilot sport 4s and bump them up a width size front and rear because it can fit it (245 front, 275 rear at least..). Very happy but this is a special "2nd" car for me, and it's tucked into the garage until spring time. I mainly compared the Genesis G70 and Audi S5, and both are GREAT cars. I went V8 because they're going away for good. If I had gotten either of those, I'd drive them year-round, as they are not "special" like this IS-500 is. I will say, the Genesis G70 3.3T Sport Prestige is a hell of a car for $54,800. My loaded IS-500 was $66,875 (no dealer markup). If you want something this size but cannot afford the IS-500, I'd buy the G70 over the IS-350 any day of the week. just my 2 cents.
I traded in a 2022 G70 for a 2023 G70. Both had the same issue… it would go into limp mode on a regular basis. Completely unacceptable. Dealer would confirm the issue but had no fix. Great car if you can live it doing this all the time.
So hows the throttle at dead stop is there lag when you take off or does it get up and go ? Im not looking to do burn outs lol i just want the throttle to respond fast i had a 22 350 fsport throttle response was not great
I have this car in Infrared and I absolutely love it. I do have to say though, the body lines definitely look sharper on the atomic silver and iridium. I really like those two colors and I almost regret deciding against another gray/black car. I don't have any clunkiness anymore in the transmission post break in period, but I also let my car warm up to where it idles in park at about 800-900 rpm before leaving the garage and I don't push it hard until it's fully warmed up.
Lol I didn’t break mine in at all, salesman said there was no break in period so was ripping it out the gates. Got it in atomic silver with red interior, the atomic silver is an insane color.
Your IS is a thing of beauty, I am so jealous of those being sold in the US. Definitely a perfect spec in my opinion, the red goes insane with that silver. Def makes it somewhere near the top of my dream dailies. Congrats on picking up this beauty
Congrats on your IS 500!! Like you, I have owned 3 IS 350 (2015, 2017 and 2021) and an RC 350 (2019) but my 2022 IS 500 will be on my fleet for a long time!! I absolutely love this car and it provides me with everything I wanted in a car. A RWD V8 sedan which is reliable and extremely sexy. In Canada, you can't get any RWD Lexus except the 4 cylinder IS but I would never consider that engine myself. I have the white with the red interior and while red was not my preferred interior color (white on white was what I wanted), the red is far nicer in person than it appears in pics and videos and I do like it a lot now. I have always loved my IS's in the past, especially the interior in which I find I just fit perfectly. The IS 500 carries everything that is amazing about the IS 350 and just crank it up a notch with the extra HP and that intoxicating sound. Is the car perfect, no, but which one is?! All I can say is that the car is perfect for ME and that is all that matters in the end. Congrats on yours and welcome to the somewhat exclusive group of IS 500 owners :)
Congratulations on your Lexus. I completely agree with your description as you were saying it’s visceral. You hit the nail on the head with that I have to just picked one up in molten pearl. Absolutely love the color and the car.
Nice car & I am approaching almost 1-year ownership with my Launch Edition. I bought it locally for msrp & wow the V8 is smooth as silk. Congrats on the Purchase.
Nice man. The launch edition is beautiful. I had the opportunity to pick one up for MSRP Mid 2021, but I passed. Now that I have this one I wished I would have purchased the launch edition. Are you in California?
Currently waiting for one to come to my dads dealership so I can grab it. They havent gotten a IS500 delivered in over a year. Hard to get one, currently have a 2022 IS350 F Sport caviar with a white interior.
I have an atomic silver 500. Just got it a little over a month ago and some Indian bozo ran into the side of mine and tried to run. Got him to pull over eventually and the cops ticketed him. Pretty bummed. Filing a loss of value claim against his insurance. Not sure much much value this car will lose now that it’s been in an accident. Honestly considering selling and getting a different car. It’s a beautiful vehicle and sounds great but it’s my weekend car and I would almost rather have an M3 competition. Need to make a decision.
Ultra Congrats!! A few things... 1. The red will grow on you, I had it in my 2016 IS 350 FSport and fell in love with it. I was concerned the extra red bits Lexus added in the 2021 redesign would be too much, but it's not. I think the car would be too dark otherwise. 2. Unless the car is not garaged, I wouldn't tint it. The public needs to see the red and the person lucky enough to own/pilot this amazing machine! 😜 3. The transmission is lazy, I immediately switch mine into Sport S...normal or ECO modes are no bueno. When I want to play, I'll switch to Sport S+ and Manual mode, and keep the RPMs above 4K. Sure he'll drink up the gas, but the responsiveness is freaking awesome and will catch many cars (electric or ICE) with their pants down. NOTE: I switched out the Bridgestones after 4 months for Michelin Pilot 4S tires. Off the line the Bridgestones didn't hook up well enough for me, but the Pilots....oh my goodness. 🙂
I think I preferred the red interior in the last IS because the plastic parts were still black, just the leather was red. Think it was a better contrast. Still looks good though
Sorry, accidentally deleted your previous response. I agree I service at dealer to. However that GThaus exhaust sounds epic. It’s a pain to have to mode back to stock in the event something needs to be addressed under warranty.
I wanted one but dealer mark up was crazy. Wasnt about to pay $80k for a brand new car with out dated techs. If i was able to get it at msrp then different story
Congratulations on your purchase. I purchased my Infrared IS 500 with white interior last week. It's a great-looking combination with the black BBS wheels!
The main thing with that transmission is that maybe it will last longer than the BMW or Audi transmission. I with a big V8 and manual mode, you should be able to take just about any fun road in 2nd or 3rd gear, so shifts...whatever. I suspect some people are driving it wrong because they got used to turbo low end torque.
People don't know how to use this transmission. If you give it anything less than 5K RPM and shift... it will do it smoothly with latency. It wants to be pushed all the way to redline to give you that 100ms upshift.
Congrats on the car! Saving for another year before I grab mine, and hoping for caviar. However every time I see the iridium it catches my eye more and more each time!
Nice, caviar is a beautiful color. Especially with all of the black exterior accents. I will say the iridium changes color depending on the lighting. I wish I could do a manual swap and this car would be so perfect.

Eyy, can you make another video reviewing it after 2 3 months owning it ? Like pointing out what you like the most about it and what annoy you. Would be appreciated sirr

@@POVIEWS As a Lexus salesman I want to shed some light on this topic I always see in the Lexus/Toyota communities. Simply put, Toyota and Lexus do not do custom order. Period. The only thing we can do is what's called "preferencing" for a car if it was already built, or on the build list. There is a chance you may get whichever spec you're looking for, but it also may never come. The reality is, it's all luck of the draw and they only build cars and specs as they please. I've heard many of people saying their dealer or salesperson told them they can place a deposit for a custom order, but in reality they are either ignorant and/or just lying to their customers. Luckily for you, there was a spec that existed which happened to work for you the same as the original buyer. Nevertheless, congrats on the nice car man! Had the pleasure of driving a few. Picked up mine 3 weeks ago, white/red interior! Car looks gorgeous but transmission is something I didn’t get used to it yet! When car is not fully warmed, when i am coming to stop sign it literally jerks when it downshifts, i am not sure if it’s normal or mine has some sort of problem? Does your do the same thing? Also, when in manual mode s+ it upshifts too hard not smooth at all, I don’t know if I should take back get it checked or it’s regular with Is500, please let me know how is your experience with the transmission! Thank you
Sorry to hear that. I’ve given the car ample time to warm up prior to each drive. I’ll try and take it out today without warming up and will update you if I notice any of those characteristics.
Yeah you may want to get those occurrences on video and take it to the dealer. I just drove it this morning, both cold and warm. The only thing I noticed is that when I was in manual mode, while rolling to a stop it was pretty violent shifting into first gear. Other than that everything was seamless. If you can upload a video of the shifting you’re experiencing.

yup... my 2022 is500(also white with red interior) does the same thing, transmission can be jerky edit: i always drive it in sport + mode... in eco its feels like a 4 cyl carolla and not jerky
@@POVIEWS ah alright well I looked it up and according to Lexus it’s not a big deal as long as regular maintenance is performed. Went in for my 1k a week ago and everything was running fine.
I can't decide on the 350 or 500. The 500 is WAY over my budget. Is the 500 really worth the price? It's just too much $ to have wrapped up in a car but if it's really that good of a car I will consider it
If you have an opportunity to drive both I would highly recommend doing so. Another thing to consider is long term ownership. Best of luck making a decision. I will say that both models are great. The NA V8 is worth every penny.
If your dropping the money for the is350 you might as well go all the way and get the is500 you can’t beat that smooth V8 and the payment ain’t going to be that much more when you think it
At the end of the day it's still a vehicle that gets you from point A to point B, be smart with your money first and foremost. Unless you know you will be able to increase your streams of revenue then I wouldn't buy the IS500.
Wrong, that's why over 70% of most luxury cars in the USA are on leases cause nobody wants long term maintenance and ownership of them. So no Germans don't own the luxury car market.
At least that Lexus will last you longer than any German Luxury car 😎
People that buy German, usually get new ones in 3-4 years. But, if that makes you feel better saying it, go for it….

@@Nhxn_ is500 is only more by a small margin if you are looking into 350. 50+k for is350 or 60k for 500, no brainer
I didn't think the 500 was worth it for only a second difference in speed. Maybe if I was 20 something.
How much is the Lexus i500 2023
Depends on options. This was $67,245 before tax and registration fees.
With shipment to Nigeria and tax how much will this cost
Needs tint 100%. Go lighter if you want
The infotainment is far behind the competition
Hot.
Good stuff brother
Clunky transmission hardly make a quality product. Germans own the luxury car market.
German cars are only good to own if they are Under Warranty.
Wrong, that's why over 70% of most luxury cars in the USA are on leases cause nobody wants long term maintenance and ownership of them. So no Germans don't own the luxury car market.
@@Luis-pd5be that includes Lexus and other Asian brands as well. Your argument doesn’t hold water.
@@MunirChavla your argument was based on German luxury cars and your saying my comment doesn't hold water yet you provide no proof lol your funny.
The IS500 puts any soulless AWD V6/I6 German car in its segment to shame...
Red....... BARF!!!!!!!
