Sharing my thoughts on the IS500.
Congrats.. Nice combo.
Tesla still keeping up with their reputation of poor quality control. The paint chips and creaks rattles discoloration just are unacceptable.
@@corismsyn agreed, when purchasing a new lexus I’ve never had to worry.
Red interiors aren't bad on the black, white, gray, or silver exteriors. It's a little much with the red and blue exteriors. My opinion, though.

Where did your car ship from? Mine was made in the US. I just received the exact same model and color but my quicksilver looks more gray than silver. Yours looks more silver (it could be the sun, not sure). Did your car ship from Berlin? China?
@@TheARTv I’m in California so I believe mine came directly from the Fremont factory. I believe it’s just the sun. I’ve been parking in the shade so the car definitely looks more gray. Congrats on the car! Enjoy it.
With all taxes, rebates, and fees how much did it come out to? And how long do you plan to keep the car / estimate depreciation by the time you sell it?
Not OP but here's breakdown for how much I paid - MSRP LRAWD - $47,490 White interior - $1,000 Quick Silver paint - $2,000 Destination - $1,400 total $51,890 Tax incentive was $7,500 and state incentive was $2,500 So $41,890 after incentives.
And you didn't get the Model Y "which has more room" because......
I don't like the way the model y drives compared to the 3
And model Y is the equivalent of a minivan

@@isaacacovera5030 same, Tesla marketed this color as it was a brighter silver. It’s a lot more gray. The sun has to be hitting it for it to shine.
I got mine yesterday. I was disappointed too. The paint looks gray not silver. I was looking forward to silver. I wonder if it has to do with where it was made.
Making me want to trade in my 2019 wrx for one of these.
I have ordered the same color, but with the silver wheels, not too sure about that combo after I saw this video damn
@@LoL-jk9os you can always change your order or look for a vehicle that is in inventory. I hear Tesla is discounting in stock vehicles if you ask.

Same. Tesla's service shop offered to paint the entire hood. I declined. Not worth it for a few paint chips.

Absolutely love the car! But quicksilver is literally just shiny gray one of the worst basics colors tbh 😂
I prefer to think of it as timeless. There is a depth to this color that is missing in their standard dark grey pain option IMO. The only other colors that look good is their red and pearl white. They need a better blue and a green paint option.

Metallics are very hard to pull off with multi-layer paint. Quicksilver is one of the best silver paints I've ever seen on a car. Tesla's old silver was just a boring grey.
Everything is great about this car, except the 73K asking price.
The white on Quicksilver looks stunning like an Apple product. I really feel this is one of the colors where the white interior shines.
Im comparing the LR AWD and Performance. What do you think about the Performance ride quality for DD?
It's not the worst, however the LR AWD is the plush daily. If you want to kill two birds with one stone, the performance is the way to go. I wanted the performance for looks as I was never going to drive it in the twisties. In the end I went LR as it is hands down the better commuter. The ride in standard on the performance makes it livable. However, comparing it to the other models, it is definitely more jarring on rougher roads.
@POVIEWS thanks for the feedback. Yeah I like the Performance better from a looks perspective as well. Sure you can swap the 20's out for 19/18's but after spending 14k more if you purchase FSD to get tax credit it's kinda feels like a waste for me

Just curious, did you purchase or lease this car? We have a lot of these teslas at my work and most of the colleagues I've asked are all leasing. So if you were leasing, would the $10k more for the performance make a big difference in payment?
@@billc8205 I leased a 22’ M3 LR and had to give it back. They would not allow me to purchase the vehicle. This one I purchased. The 10k will definitely make a difference when it comes to a lease payment. How much, would depend on multiple factors.
If it makes sense miles-wise, leasing is better with the volatility of Tesla prices.

@@meganote not sure about efficiency. With radio off you hear a minimal amount of noise at highway speeds. With radio on, you don’t hear it.

My Model 3 also had a rattle at delivery, they took the car for 4 days and gave me a Model S for the time being.

The seat is rubbing against the center console, typically when you have the seat in a rearward position……it’s normal

Thanks for sharing your initial thoughts. This is the color I would have preferred when I got my long range 3 in 2018.
Same config I have on the way except with the silver rims. I had a performance on order too, but after I test drove switched to AWD. Never thought I'd think the acceleration was too fast...and I like fast. Also I wear just a 36 jean and the bolstered seats were too tight. I almost went with the LR RWD, but once I test drove the AWD it felt just right...Goldilocks.
Got mine today in RWD just missin the speakers and AWD but didn’t em saved 5k 😅
$2000 for plain silver color? No way!
It just isn't plain silver as you put it. You wont get this type of silver without an additional payment on pretty much any car. Video dont do it justice.
It's 13 layers of paint to achieve a sense of depth you can only see in person. If you ever need body work you will realize how special it is.
