The rims on this IS500 are actually BBS. The Enkeis have a denser intertwined mesh design. I just bought a ‘23 myself and specifically wanted the BBS look. 👍 Nice review!
That's cool, I didn't see anything on the window sticker about the wheels, so I didn't say anything about that. But they look very good with this color!
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Side note - I nearly bought a GR Supra bc I got into your series of videos modding it! I'd have tried to buy the one you guys were selling if timing had been better for me. Keep crushing it guys!
@@pwj86772I knew exactly what I was getting myself into. There are several other choices if someone is seriously in the market. A V6/I6 turbo wasn't an alternative for me.
We'll it's an N/A V8. Not going to have torque like a turbo. For the same money an Audi RS3 would be a great option to get more power with the inline 5 turbo
@@BrosFOURRSpeed Enkeis are the standard wheels, but you need to look at the Options section of the window sticker where it says the BBS wheels were added by the manufacturer during the build.
@BrosFOURRSpeed I just remembered that the rumored IS600 F sport (which is closer to F but still an f sport for some reason) has the twin turbo V6 pushing around 600hp. There are some videos on it like from Raiti's Rides channel
Nice and informative review! Thanks for not flogging the car, it only had 20 miles on the odo and Lexus recommends a 621m / 1000km break-in period. It showed your respect for the vehicle and the future owner, well done. 👏 You got the mission for this car perfectly, a fun and comfortable daily driver during the week, and a fun mountain sweeper on the weekends. This car is an awesome all-arounder, thanks for posting!
I have to admit that, although I've only owned my 2023 IS 500 for seven months, the upcoming release of the next-gen Mustang (and the option to get the Coyote engine with a manual transmission) will definitely test by resolve.
I feel you. I bought mine 3 months ago. I had a weird short list in the GR Supra, X3M, GT350 and the IS500. Repair fatigue from my german M5 & ML63 models (since sold) + practicality steered me to the Lexus.
We don't need "hybrid" systems. The hybrid system on the newer NSXs suck ass. Friend has one and literally cannot do anything to the car and loses top end speed. What we need to do is get rid of these shitty hybrids and electric crap.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed ....man, I roll with these guys all the time. For the last 3 years I have heard about the "tech" in the NSX. When we roll out onto the Autobahn the NSX loses top end speed. And of course when the electric engine shuts off it loses power. That hybrid electric system serves no damn purpose whatsoever. ICE all day, every day. F*** this electric agenda.
The trend towards smaller engines paired with turbos have reduced the reliability of Lexus engines as well as everyone else. There have been problems with some of the SUVs that have the smaller turbo engines. The NA engines have lower MPGs, but they are more reliable workhorses.
You have to wonder if this is the last of the 5.0 V-8's and how these will be valued in the near future.
Yeah that’s something to think about!
Definitely not the last. Nowhere near it. There is a legitimate need for gas vehicles

Right. The Enkeis wheels are in black chrome whereas the BBS are in matte black.
Nice review! I love it, its a real sleeper. The exhaust note is the main improvement i would make.
For sure! I bet an aftermarket exhaust would do a lot!
Yeah, this car has so many flaws…it’s too heavy and not focused enough on performance.

Really miss my 2020 IS350..😔...got a wrangler now...I like taking the roof and doors off..👍🏽
That’s cool!
the exterior looks great. honestly the interior is disappointing, does not compliment the exterior at all.
Yeah I'd like to see something new on the inside to feel special
One minor point...the mirrors are not power folding.
Yeah there’s no button, didn’t see that until I got inside.
Small correction on the wheels; those are the BBS wheels. The wheels that have the multi-stars are the Enkei's.
Enkei was on the window sticker, so that’s why I said that.

I would assume Lexus would change the V8 into the turbo v6 you get on the LS500 and turn the regular V6 into tubo 4
I could see that at some point if they do ditch the V8

I don’t think so, that’s not listed on the window sticker..
I think you underated tht horsepower

With insurance also make sure to take the highest deductible and pay in full. That will help make your rate be much lower too

Glad you enjoyed it!
That interior though! 😅
What would you want to see different about it!?
Mature and classy unlike the cheap Tesla-looking iPad German interiors

Right, it's about 10 years old. The entire car is just from 2008.

What about it is outdated?
Yeah, it came out 10 years ago, but it was way ahead of its time.
It’s a great looking car to me, too bad it the BMW supra destroys it.

Porsche wipes its ass with the BMW. There's always someone faster. Its what you have and enjoy, not what you read in a magazine.
