So glad you have spouse on spoiler watch! The buffy fandom, more than any other I'm a part of, can't help but "hint" or "joke" about certain things, and they think it's innocent, but it's really really annoying 😅 They are forgetting what you know on a first view. Forget what it's like to be a new viewer. There are sections in the future that are going to be REALLY bad with spoiler comments, but I trust your spouse will be on it!
I absolutely love Buffy/Angel's convo at the end. It's a good summation of Angel's view of himself as a monster who wants to be redeemed, that we've seen throughout the series but especially in Becoming. And SMG kills it.
I am also a sucker for the magical snow. It's sooooo cheesy. But so Christmas. Which might just be groan worthy if Christmas itself is ;)

Xander is... a challenge in these early seasons, and while I wouldn't say he ever becomes a favourite of mine he does eventually do some growing up. Eventually. One thing I will say is that he is brave. Right from the start when he went with Buffy to save Jesse, he's always shown bravery (something that he doesn't really get credit for).
This episode is not one I love, but I do love how it sets up things that get addressed much later in the series...
The bangs are infamous. Sarah Michelle Gellar has even used them as a cautionary tale to her daughter 😂

And I think they’re the inspiration for Courtney Cox’s fringe misstep in Scream 3. It was a pimple of a moment in fashion.
Her hair was fried from going back to blonde after Cruel Intentions 😂 I think it was breaking off and they had to do SOMETHING.

Favorite colors? Sage and forest greens, dark teal, and most of the shades that include the terms "burnt" or "ochre", e.g., burnt umber or red ochre - anything that looks like it belongs on an autumn tree whose leaves are past their prime...
I'm bad at picking favorites in general, but my favorite colors tend to be jewel tones: amethyst violet, turquoise, sapphire, topaz, ruby...
Favorite color really depends on the day and what I’m choosing it for lol. But it’s typically dark blue, dark purple, or black. Now hot pink is thrown in there if it’s mixed with black but that only applies to accessories and nails.
Amends was one of the best episodes of S3, and for me personally a top ten from the whole show. We are introduced to The First Evil tormenting Angel through his past victims. The concept of The First is that it gave the writers a way of reintroducing dead characters to add to the richness of the show, as The First can channel its evil through dead people attacking the mind of the living. The ending scene with Buffy and Angel is brilliantly acted when Buffy is trying to save Angel from daylight, SMG and David Boreanaz absolutely knock it out of the park here, and The Hallmark movie ending even though schmaltzy, just works so well with the storyline. Comic relief with Willow using Barry White to seduce Oz is funny but sweet and innocent too. Again the acting from SMG and DB at the end was superb. Another great episode keeping up the brilliant quality of S3. This is actually a very important episode in the the show. S3 is just banger after banger, the quality of the episodes just improves so much.

Also, not one of my favorite episodes, either. I know a lot of people love it, but it's just meh to me (though SMG is amazing!). I can't remember what it was, but something you said about Xander in the beginning reminded me of the podcast Buffering the Vampire Slayer. You might find it interesting, though maybe wait until you've seen it all before listening. I think they go episode by episode and don't spoil future ones, but I can't remember and at least one of the hosts has seen the show multiple times.

Blue is my favorite color. All shades, however, I'm partial to cobalt with royal making a very close second. I also really like any color with depth. Not surprisingly this makes velvet one of my favorite fabrics.
I can understand why someone might not want to use the word "sex", it just sounds very clinical to me. That said, "make love" is a perfectly good expression. And yes, if one cannot say it they're probably not ready.

There are no spoilers in this comment. I’m not a mod; just a random person on the internet. On the off chance this helps someone else, here’s my thought process. Before I hit the comment button, I check for any obvious references to future events. A few times, I’ve gone and done a bit of research to confirm my memory is right. Then I ask “have I written something which makes me feel as though I’ve hinted at something in such a clever way that only those who know will get it?” I’m guessing most folks know the feeling; there’s some neurochemistry which fires off in my brain and I get all excited because I just /know/ I can get away with it. If I think that (or feel that), or if I even /suspect/ I’ve done it, I delete that part of the comment. If that means I don’t comment on a particular video at all, then that’s fine. Yes, it means that need to check myself on every post. It was tricky at first, but it got easier with practice and, at the end of the day, it makes our host’s experience better which also makes /our/ experience better.
My favorite color varies a bit, but I’m currently partial to the blueish-purple you can get if you heat-treat steel in a particular way. For examples of this, I heartily recommend the Clickspring channel; some of his older videos show it in great detail. It’s a color which reminds me from a line out of “Screenwriter’s Blues” by Soul Coughing, a track (and a band) which I think is worth a listen. Cheers, all.

To answer the question you didn’t ask, even now I don’t /always/ get it right, but I think I’m a lot better at it now that I used to be. And (unexpectedly) learning to think that way had some small but useful knock-on effects which helped in other aspects of my life. Yes, the comments section of this website made my life fractionally better; life’s weird. To answer the question you /did/ ask, other than possibly spoiling how my brain works, it does not. ;)
My favorite color has changed over the years. As a kid it was blue, then green. Now I am falling in love with yellow. It’s so cheerful and happy.

This episode really shows how central snark, subversion and undercutting high drama are to the overall feel of the show. This episode tones them all down, and it feels very different. It's a story that asks us to take moments like "if this continues you may have to kill him. ...Again." and Angel breaking into Buffy's house just to (from her perspective) scream at her to leave him alone and jump out the window immediately afterwards completely seriously.
I don't mean that as an insult. Amends isn't a favourite episode of mine, but I respect that this show is willing to go full melodrama from time to time and play it straight. Just, the tone of this episode in particular really stands out to be as a departure from the norm despite it feeling unmistakably Buffy.

I for one always watch your "hot mess" updates parts....and as proof.....my favorite "color" used to be black....all the black all the time, and deep blues, since black is technically not a color....but as I have begun to intentionally shift away from black and dark gothic self expression(got tired of everything around me magnifying my natural depression tendancies)....I am finding myself more and more drawn to very rich and saturated red

I think Buffy was getting pulled into the dreams for two reasons. Her connection with Angel and also her prophetic dreams.
God, they were horrendous, this was during the phase she was so painfully thin (no shame, I was young and every TV person seemed to be so thin, a very big contributing factor in why for many years my happiness depended on whether my stomach was complete flat). There is a character in Buffy, who I love no spoiler, but when I was younger this character was considered 'fat'.... 😢
