Nothing less than a beauty. Love the bridge , drove it , walked it , jumped from the bridge on Bridge Days, did rafting on New River, did hiking and driving on an old bridge. Gorgeous area. I would love to go back but spending 12 hours in the car puts me off.
I drove from CT. to Beckley, WV. just to pedal over this bridge. It was a 30 mile ride one way. I got a couple of great pictures from the bridge to the river. It was phenomenal.
@Michel K , that would be me! And to think I once worked in Mining dumping rock over a mile high wall tires of the euc at the edge of it, I could never do it again👍
I drive over this bridge everyday. When I was younger it didn’t bother me at all. As I’m closer to 40. The drive across terrifies me every time. I literally hold my breath. For those of you in love with this bridge. We have bridge day every Oct 19th. You can parachute off the bridge or walk across. Nope for me.
America truly is home of the great engineering feats of the 20th century. The ability to see what nature made , and say fuck it , we’re going over it .
that was sweet I always pass over that bridge in late October just a few days before they jump off it. the funny thing is I have a drone and I was videotaping the Welcome Center and I was thinking about flying the drone but I was thinking I didn't have the guts to fly , out there where you did
I didn't know how lucky I was. As a young teenager hunted & fished Fayette Station area a lot. Right under the bridge. I within like 1 day right there 1st concrete pier poured. Sometimes workers spot me & wave or stop see how many fish or game I got that day.
thanks for your comment Albert. It's actually a no-fly zone from the National Park. my son and I took off and landed from the souvenir shop across from the entrance to the National Park. And yes my heart was racing as my drone was flying over the gorge in over the bridge.
Here we are years later still enjoying your video! As an FPV drone pilot, I just wanted to ask if the concept of flying over no fly area zone national parks from outside the restricted area held up under scrutiny? I personally have done this a time or two like you but fear sharing the videos.
good Morning George, This is brilliant, I was wondering if you minded if i used part of this video to use on you tube? I went here last week but i dont use a drone and this is great for what i need. i just got a couple of photo's and there not very good as the trees are covering alot of the Bridge now. I would Credit you for the use Thanks Dave.
These are fantastic shots! Really impressed! Question: Would you be willing to let me use less than five seconds of one of your shots for a church youth group outing video recap I'm putting together? Thanks for letting me know!

George Thank you very much for posting/sharing. Outstanding job. You done well.
I went on the Jet boat ride up river to the bridge. Was so awesome seeing how high that bridge really is from the river.
Great video. On par with the CACHE Bridge in Kentucky. Great work & evidently courageous, reading one of the comments.
thank you Earl.
I parked on the end of the bridge and walked down to the edge. My legs went numb cus it was scary as hell. I crawled back on my hands knees.

Super cool. Went White Water Rafting just below the bridge in 2013. I want to walk on the cat walk under the bridge.
Crossed over it this past March as we traveled to Elkins WV...breathtaking..

George Lisi did anybody say anything to you for having the footage in a no fly zone?
@@tommyfhathaway1
nice 👍
Why on earth didn't you fly close and under it?

This was well before National Park and Reserve status!

Timmy Oliver sure. go ahead
Thanks a lot!
Ive camped down near the small bridge every bridge day for 24 years
Jeeez.. to be so high up the bridge looks rather scraggly which makes it more scarier to cross 🤔
I Thought that was a New bridge!
oh theres my camp.
Is this charelston wv
the New River Gorge Bridge is in Victor, WV
I live 2 miles from the bridge, George. It's in Fayetteville, WV. Victor is close to Ansted. It's several miles away from the bridge.
It's in Fayetteville, WV Bethany. I've driven across it literally thousands of times since it was finished in 1976.
