You did a nice job of capturing the New River Gorge. I’ve been to this area many many time since my first trip there in 1980. We have always gone to run the river (200+ trips) I never get tired of visiting the New River.
Nice presentation. I'm always amazed and grateful for those who built the trail, stairs, overlooks, etc. Image transporting material and building those stairs on the side of a mountain. Thank you
18:00 I live next to some railroad tracks in my town in WV and boy is it great to be woke up at 3am when the train conductor lays on the horn for 30 solid seconds at a time as he approaches the crossing. I feel like he does it on purpose, knowing people are asleep and laughing about waking us up. I know he has to honk at each crossing but man, it's 3am and no one is on the road... you can just do a couple toots and be done, you don't have to wake up the whole town.
Both Chloe and I woke up one night thinking we were going to be ran over haha it was a little frightening. I could see that getting old if you live right there…
I enjoyed your video of My Lovely State WV. I have traveled to the bridge but you have show me the park & the road leading to the park. This has been a wonderful trip traveling with you. Thank you again! Please come back now ya hear! 😊❤
I really enjoyed this video and thank you so much for sharing it :) I am researching a trip to New River Gorge for the summer of 2023. We sadly only have one day in the park. That being said what would be your must do's if you only had 1 day?
Thank you! I appreciate your comment. I would recommend going to the canyon rim visitor center, and doing the scenic drive down to the river. The endless wall trail to diamond point is probably one you shouldn’t pass up either! Those are both easily achievable in one day!
Hi Nice video, I was born & raised in that area, watched them build the bridge but never had any intress in th Kaymoor mine; our favorite destination ia the Soo locks up in your area!
@@BRUjank thank you for your quick reply. It is appreciated. Subscribed because your content was very helpful and inspiring to get back to traveling. Hope to see more of your travels.
Awesome video. Looking at doing this trip with our 4 kids. Loved the variety of activities and appreciated that it was budget friendly. Question- I might have missed it in the video, but how many nights did you ended up spending in this area?
We did two nights at Stone Cliff campground. Then one night at Grandview Sandbar! If you had any interest in staying at the Glades creek campground, just know it’s pretty far down the road past Grandview!! You guys are going to have a great time! It’s definitely budget friendly too!!
Yeah mining was HARD work and plenty of people now don't even know what work is. I live and work in NC but i have a house in Quinwood, i will check that place out and maybe camp for a night or 2.
I even tried googling the pronunciation before I made the video 😂 I have been schooled in some West Virginia speak since posting haha thanks for enjoying! It’s hard for a Michigander like myself to not announce every vowel in a word…
I found them lovely when I was falling asleep.. but being woken up by a train whistle coming closer and closer and closer was too much for my sleepy brain to comprehend. I would jolt up awake with an adrenaline rush thinking I was going to be run over 😂
I usually do some level of pre planning before I travel places. I will watch RUclips and go on google maps to plan out interesting spots and drive times and such. So I generally will have an idea of where I am going beforehand. I just zoom in on places using google maps and start clicking!
Thank you for your video. My family is from west Virginia. Been 30 years since I’ve seen these places. ❤
Thank you for your comment. West Virginia was wonderful!

Wow! 200 hundred times.. I guess it’s a tough place to get sick of! That’s awesome. I can’t wait to go back myself!
I’m from Charleston WV, Kanawha is pronounced kuh-naw. Great video by the way , there’s lots to see and do in WV!
Thank you! Yea I’m hearing a lot about this “kuh naw” pronunciation. How do you get kuh naw from kanawha? Haha
The ha at the end is silent.
Great video!! Loved the commentary...keep em coming!!
Thanks! I really appreciate that. I got a couple more in the works already!! Haha

They are literally a work of art sometimes.. thanks for the comment!
Wild river ride… I did it on a raft a few times a little over 40 years ago.
It looked like a blast to raft through! I want to go back!!
Great video, very informative! Helps us with planning our trip. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! It’s fun there.

@@BRUjank you eventually get used to the sound of the trains going by but the horn blowing at 3am will still wake you up basically every time.
Going there in a few weeks, great pics and video!!!
Thanks! Your going to love it there.
enjoyed your video. glad you got to visit West Virginia. I love this part of our state. next time you're in the area you should visit sandstone falls.
I had my eyes on sandstone falls! Couldn’t make it this time. You do have a beautiful state though, I’m sure I’ll be back!!
I have never been to Babcock state park. Thank you for permitting me to travel along with you!
You’re welcome! Thank you for your comment.
Loved the tour of the amour mines, thank you!😊

Been there a few times one of my favorites
I could definitely do some more exploring there!
Nice one!
Thanks! I appreciate it.

Great video. How many days did you spend in the National Park? Did you need reservations for the camp sites?
I think we did two nights at the first site and one night at the other site. No reservations needed! They were free too..

The trains have such a lonely sound; don’t you think?

What time of year was this filmed?
Second week of October!
@@BRUjank thank you! Son getting married there 3rd week in Sept 25. Wondering about weather and leaves…

Kanawha = kah-naw-ah
Haha yea I butchered that one..
Is it any wonder that our Dear Lord & Savior Jesus Christ traveled many times to the top of the mountains to pray!😊
Views are pretty good up there! That’s for sure..
kanawha
pronounced kuh-gnaw
:)
Haha thanks! You probably cringed hearing me slaughter that with all those vowels..
PLEASE LEARN HOW TO PRONOUNCE OUR RIVERS NAME !!!
Please calm down.
