      I'd like that, some continuity within the cycles, or being able to live on afterwards in peace without the Dragon. But DLC would need to kick in right there.

    • @DeusGamez
      @DeusGamez 5 месяцев назад +17

      they did show the true ending of the game here though its the one where your character ceases to exist in the world because you as the last arisen took a stand against fate and told it to go F itself lmao but yea the dragon finally dies, the brine dissappears from the oceans, and the pawns return home to the rift between worlds. your gift to the world is setting it free from the cycles of death and rebirth
      an everyone you helped on your journey honors your memory/sacrifice.

    • @erwincandelaria5438
      @erwincandelaria5438 5 месяцев назад +4

      @@DeusGamez it is the true ending but are missing a lot of stuff in the cutscene and it didn't even show a special interaction with your main pawn in the end if you have max affinity with it. The ending credits is like a poor version of the lively cutscene if you helped a lot of people in your entire playthrough. I had all the good parts of the ending in my first run after 200 hours of exploring the world to its fullest.

  • @dustinspeakes8793

    Im not gonna lie, I felt let down by all the endings. For one thing, there were so many interesting plot threads that were set up in the first half of the game that just got completely forgotten about, like the origins of the false Sovran, and for that matter the entire political plot in general just never really gets resolved. You kill the usurper in a short, insignificant battle right before the final showdown with the Dragon, then if you choose to fight the Dragon you claim your throne and thats it. No opposition from Disa and her supporters, nothing. And as far as the hidden ending/unmoored world... cool concept, fun to roam around a dried up husk of a world and kill monsters under a bloodred sky, but the story just does a terrible job of explaining everything thats going on. Why did my pawn turn into that weird winged creature? Was that dragonsplague? How did she get infected? What's the deal with the giant dragon? Is that the main dragon but in a beefed up form? Is it the Pathfinder in a dragon's body? What was such a big deal about defying my destiny to kill the dragon if i just end up killing a different dragon anyway? If the dragon dies when I stab myself, didnt I just fulfill my destiny? If the people of the world exist only to play a role in the Arisen's journey and the world ends if anyone defies it, why didnt Phaesus bring about the unmoored world by his attempts to subvert the Great Will? What does ending the cycle of Arisen and Dragon really even accomplish? There are still other monsters that can (and do) attack towns and wreak destruction. The game never even bothers to show the extent of the Dragon's destructive capabilities aside from burning half of a town in the middle of nowhere so why is the cycle ending so important? If the main purpose was to get rid of the Brine so people can leave and explore other lands, then spend more time building that up! Let us fight a giant Brine monster as the final boss instead of playing through a stupid scripted sequence where you climb on a giant dragon's back while the credits roll! Its almost like Capcom themselves just lost interest in the ending they were writing so they just said, "Eh, roll credits. The game's basically over anyway, lets just get this over with." What a massive disappointment in an otherwise phenomenal game. F*** these endings.

    • @christinem8799
      @christinem8799 3 месяца назад

      The political strife that was happening early game did feel unresolved imo as well. I didn’t hear from Queen Disa, the son or Brant for the entire rest of the game once I reached Batthal. I wouldn’t have minded a longer story just for everything to be explained.

    • @christinem8799
      @christinem8799 3 месяца назад

      I completely agree with everything you said here. The game is good in terms of combat, side quests & exploration but the story had a lot of elements for it to have such a lackluster ending like that. I know lots of people didn’t like the ending and I wondered why. This explains why.

    • @dustinspeakes8793
      @dustinspeakes8793 3 месяца назад

      I mean, the first game had a pretty disjointed story too, it was kinda just like, "Do a bunch of random fantasy stuff until the plot decides it's time to confront the Dragon," but then it drops that mindf*** ending where everything you've been through was a test to see if you have what it takes to challenge the god of that world and take his place. Again, cool concept but they didn't really do a good job building it up through the rest of the story. I like the lore of this series, it's deeply philosophical and interesting, but the way it's presented is where everything kind of falls flat. It's clear that with these games the main focus is on the pawn system, the combat and the world- which are all top notch, don't get me wrong, and its why I still consider them to be great games, but I just wish that they'd taken a little more time to flesh out the story in the sequel and make it something truly special. If Dragon's Dogma II had had as much care put into the story as The Witcher III or Red Dead II, it could've been a true masterpiece.

      Looks to me like a recycle of the arisen.
      Ive met a surprisingly large number of arisen in the world that either failed to fulfill their duty as arisen and didnt kill their dragon, they killed their dragon, got their heart back and are pretty much just living the rest of their life away or just straight up run away like in this ending. I think the old guy was arisen too.
      Makes sense that you end up a bum because your no longer arisen and cant command pawns anymore, but can still revive. A failure cant be sovereign of the country now can he, specially if hes not the true arisen anymore

    This game gives me Zelda vibes, no princess, though. I like it alot but i wish there was a bit more cake, its alot of icing with the graphics and combat, but it needs more in the middle with some traversal options, clothes and slice of life content to make it more than just a dark fantasy Zelda from 64. Again, i love this game, dont regret any of my time spent. I just look forward to more.

      You talk to the stranger at the table instead of taking the throne, then you talk to them again directly in the middle of the crowd in front of the throne. Once back on the dragon, you kill the dragon and yourself by climbing down onto it's heart and using the new blade on both of you. Then follow the steps in the unmoored world from there.
