David Maxim is next level underrated, serious talent not just as a musician but as a producer too. guy is a one package deal. So glad to see you got around to him!! Cheers Geebz!!
OMG HOW did i miss you reacting to my all time favorite music man David Maxim Micic?! My friend, his music such an experience, I became obsessed when my friend played me Smile from Bilo 3 for the first time. Amazing, AMAZING artist all around. I can't give you a recommendation because that would just be the ENTIRETY of his discography solo and in other bands like Destiny Potato & Sordid Pink. Great video my guy!!
Thanks for reminding me this guy exists. I had to pause and listen to the track I discovered by him some years ago (bilo part 2). It was on an old Pandora radio with bands like Scale the Summit, Chimp Spanner, Plini, Angel Vivaldi. Used to really enjoy listening, need to get back to that
The fact that you've done both Streetlight and David makes so much sense for how you're in my recommendations. The algorithm is fucking wild these days. No sensible person would have ever made that connection haha. It's a shame you picked this song though, I would listen to Mbinguni Amina (same album), listen through the opening of Bilo 3.0, listen through Eco and then review songs of off Bilo IV. David has really grown over the years and you can really see that come together on Bilo IV. I'm saying this because I'd like to recommend the cathartic experience that Fading Memories is once you've gone through a bit of his work.
He also did a real cool band project called "Destiny Potato" (now called "Sordid Pink") with a couple of real good female singers (both named Alexsandra, but I'm not going to try to spell either of their last names ... they're all Serbian).
Yeeeessss!! thank you very much, for years I've been trying to remember this artist's name after hearing one of his albums, but it has been eluding me ever since. finally I can relive the joy that abum gave me then and listen to his other albums!
I haven't even watched the video yet but I've been spinning this album for YEARS and I still love it as much as I did when I first found it. I was stupidly excited to see this. 😅
Pro Tip: Mbinguni Amina is an absolute banger, and so is everything else DMD makes. the Stock Challenge for example, goes so hard. Glad to see you've discovered this brilliant artist. He also has some connections to Destiny Potato/Sordid Pink.
I'm one of those that's been waiting for DMM for years (ever since your Disperse video). Hope you can get around to Damar by him next. One of the greatest pieces of music I've ever heard.
Oh man, Fading Memories by Micic is such a beautiful track. His name is burned into my memory just from listening to it on repeat. And absolutely unlike this math rock number. I'll have to check out more of his stuff.
Been following David since bilo 1. The problem with picking on song from bilo to do is you don’t get the full effect. You need to start from the beginning and listen to it all. There are so many themes and ideas that get brought back through the whole composition. It’s almost like bilo is a composition in 4 parts. Much like and old symphony.
This or Bilo 3.0 are the obvious choices. 4.0 leans more on the emotional and composition/flow side while 3.0 leans more on the experimental modern prog side of things. 4 is like a life's journey in music, you'll smile and you'll cry lol. Also the best mixed album I ever heard, incredible sound design and panning stuff. 3 is imo one of the best (instrumental) modern prog albums, period. It's so surprising, fun, quirky and interesting, and much more. Peak DMM style sound is def 3.0 imo.
Do more David Maxim Micic! Guy deserves so much recognition, and each album has such a different feel and sound, nothing is the same. Bilo 3 is what sucked me in. Anything from him is an unreal journey though!

One of the greatest allround talents for sure and a very chill human being from what I've seen on his RUclips.

Bilo 1 and 2 made such a huge impact on the trajectory of my music taste when I was in high school. David's got some kind of magic in him
David’s discography is my favorite of all time. Pure adventure. Thanks for this one!

thank you for getting to some of David's music, everything that man touches is pure art.

Destiny Potato is amazing! Lun is one of my all time favorite albums!
Aleksandra Djelmas :^)
I remember loving his ECO EP.

oooo please do EGO!! It's the best thing ever written by far imo.
One of my favorite artists in general. He's great.
I haven't even watched the video yet but I've been spinning this album for YEARS and I still love it as much as I did when I first found it. I was stupidly excited to see this. 😅

BIIIIIIIIIILLOOOOOOO
I recommended him to you probably two years ago. Glad you finally came around. He's one of the few instrumental bands I like.
If you do more from David, definitely do smile, daydreamers, and cry
Big DT vibes. Pretty cool.
Never heard of this artist before. Killer stuff - thanks for sharing!
Doesn't David program all the drums? Definitely one thing i always admired next to the banger composition and guitar work.
Yes he does, he usually programs and plays everything himself.
I've never heard this song before but I do love me some Micic. Also listen to Andy McKee, The Algorithm, Animals as Leaders, and Pomegranate Tiger.
deep track from DMM, yeaaaaa!!
The Bilos (1-3) are some of Micics most rawest creativity, but its not his best work. Who Bit The Moon is absolute GOLD.
Thank you Geebz

A classic DMM track is Satellite, 100% recommend you give it a listen later, it's an amazing journey.
Make sure to check out the whole Album "Who Bit the Moon" really brought me into Prog

This comment = TRUTH
You gotta listen to BILO IV by him, a decade of work took to make that masterpiece

definately have to check lut his newest album I think you will really appreciate that one.
You have to hear his new stuff, please!!

Ive been watching your tool and apc videos and i think im getting a crush on you lol
thought I'd mention, I'm pretty sure this is all programmed drums.
Not saying anyone fell off, but this is peak DMM. Bilo 2/3 are untouchable in his discography.
Smile it's a great song too
"Music for the sake of music"
I'm very happy if you want to hear "LIFE IN A GLASSHOUSE" from radiohead
What about the smashing??? Man you forgot us! And what about alice in chains? Mad season?
