Owane is probably my favorite composer/performer in the last four years or so. His guitar playing is so melodic, and fresh. His phrasing is out of this world. At least to my ears. He also plays keys and bass. The dude is just killer. It is impossible for me to listen to Owane and not smile.

And now Plini, Jakub Żytecki, Govan, Tosin Abasi etc.. and Owane is my absolute favourite of current generation, i just love the music he makes and the playing style is soooooo
chill and cool and tasty. Can't get enough of him.

Love owane, although sometimes his sound can require me to be in the mood for it because of some of the jazzier harmonies.
Some more guys from this generations of guitarists that "young guys" like me really look up to are: jack Gardiner, sithu aye, nick Johnston, stephen taranto, Aaron marshall of intervals, yvette young of covet, I built the sky, David maxim micic. They're all people in the sort of prog rock, with a lot of fusion influence or math rock sound (like chon) that are really prominent right now. There's also a wave of fusion/straight jazz guys that are really killer like ben euson, matteus Mancuso, evgeny pozobhiy, tom ibarra, Joshua meader etc.

I have to say this guy is amazing and his guitar solos remind me of the sound track to Ace Combat 4, (specifically this track - ruclips.net/video/9G1ob5jnuSo/видео.html). Would you consider checking out video game OSTs? Just like any other type of music they aim to create and mold emotion in the listener but are often overlooked because they are tied to a different form of media. There are some extraordinary impressive pieces of musical composition in the video game world and I just thought I could share a type of music I'm passionate about as well. Considering your sharply attuned ear for detail and nuance, I have to humbly recommend:
    1. Le Toit Du Monde by Gorguts. They're a deathmetal band but the frontman is a conservatory-graduated composer:
    ruclips.net/video/7LQd0IoJ25M/видео.html
They have an awesome quartet piece in the middle of the record:
    ruclips.net/video/nSb8x88PH8c/видео.html
    2. Ihsahn -- Something out there. A more "extreme" piece but it has pretty good sounding arrangements. Comes largely out of the same circle that Opeth originally did, this guy has been massively innovative despite not getting a ton of attention (likely due to a lack of world touring).
    ruclips.net/video/Sdzdd-_PTLs/видео.html
    3. Opeth -- You've probably already gotten a few, but:
Ghost of Perdition -- Prog metal masterpiece
The Moor -- Intricate guitar arranging in the pre-keyboard days. Really unique.
Hessian Peel -- Again, intricate guitar work and strange structure
