Oh man, for me it’s not just the melodies I randomly find myself humming after weeks or months of not hearing his music, or his awesome technical ability, it’s also his fantastic arranging skills. He has such a knack for making songs flow, while maintaining both the freedom of anything, any sound, any feeling being possible and still having it be balanced and just feeling “right”. It just works, as you said. Love him. His album Who Bit the Moon is just constant vibes, one of my favorite prog albums of all time. There’s a 3-4 second long little guitar section in the song damar that just makes me and my dad look at each other and laugh in sheer astonishment. Some that is his unique and bold melodic choices, like no one but him could or would have done that. Anyway, can’t wait for you to hear more!
I first discovered him when I discovered his band Destiny Potato (now called Sordid Pink) which I believe features this same female singer. Worth checking that out as well.
You should totally dox that guy! Who uses their full name in online accounts these days? 😉 Thanks for getting to this so quickly! It was a real struggle trying to come up with a song request so I went into my back pocket and pulled out something from 2013 lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it! Would you be willing to count one Exploring Birdsong EP and 4 singles as an album? Those total about 39 minutes and would cover their latest EP and the other 4 singles released in the past year. I 100% would upgrade for that 😁
not enough reactions out there to this album. The first time I ever listened to it I was on LSD, and the layering of the songs... my god. You're synesthesia comments really resonated haha. Literally transported me to another place. Do "Daydreamers" next. It has some of the most moving sections, and the most alien guitar solo I've ever heard

David NEVER misses!
DMM is like a Prog God. It's almost imposible to achieve his level of perfection when crafting soundscapes
