Wow, 10 years... Bilo, along with discovering David was completely life changing for me. Thank you for your incredible art and for the inspiration through the years! ❤
This album was so iconic to us when it first came out, and we love to see it getting this remix and remaster it truly deserves. PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY GOOD, David.
Displaced riffs, aleatoric patterns, tasty subdivisions, polyrhythmic thinking, contrasts in sound and rhythm, glittering 32/64 notes (in a super cool random fashion, even tasty distorted sounding), on top of everything, great sound aesthetics! You were ahead of your time bro! I wish you play your music more often live, in whatever form and constellation!
He wasn't ahead of his time, there were many like him, it was a whole wave of composers like him. Do you know Gru "Cosmogenesis"? ruclips.net/video/ygiq6AMBGko/видео.html
10 years passed already? How time flies... Your music inspired me to a whole new point of view on well... everything! We do need a physical release though! ;)
I second this. I have parents who won’t listen to digital music I send them, but when they receive a CD their whole world opens up to the modern guitar greatness of this age
This is one of my first prog albums that I've ever listened to! It's crazy it's 10 years old! I can't wait to get a full BILO physical discography with BILO IV!!
This might sound like hyperbole, but your Bilo series of projects has literally saved/help shape the course of my life. I’ve been listening to your music since I was 16, and it’s been the soundtrack that’s helped me through heartbreak, university studies, personal growth, and everything in between.I’m extremely grateful for all the work that you’ve done over the course of the last decade David. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Massive improvement! I am blown away. I thought you would just remix the tracks, but there is so much more going on, especially on Shadowplay. So pumped for this, and the upcoming remasters + Bilo IV.
Gotta hit comments like.. what's he up to, is it new? Is it different? Is it the same just anniversary? Yesss on my way to check out this guys best shit all the time. Like I wasn't gonna open it up anyway... But I just wanted to know beforehand. Yes fuckin yes I'm excited as fuck! Thanks for the what's going on other fan I should buy a beer if we ever meet. Probably won't but you got a cold beer with your name on it dude.
Whoa... guys go add Fernando Contreras. You are awesome on that guitar. Fucking sweet dude. Get to see David Maxim Micic remastered, then I see you. Dope. Today got much better.
I gotta say man, this album (and more specifically pt. II, now called BLOOD WHISPERS?! What?!) was the reason I started putting more work into my audio production. Even 10 years ago it just sounded absolutely massive, and somehow you've made it sound even better. So incredibly hyped to hear this.
I was here for the original broadcast. I'm here for the re master. The world around me still has no idea what I'm listening to. Their ears still aren't ready yet. Too much real something of somewhere. I been rocking. Glad you have too.
dude i just want to say that BILO I changed my views on guitar and you helped me a lot to grow as a musician. wow it's been 10 years? thankyou for the music!
I remember the day I discovered your music 9 years ago. Blown. Away. It's been a hell of a long ride man. From a chaotic start to a mellow interlude I'm proud to have taken that first listen. Thank you for your music. Truly.
I can't tell why, but on a point in my life your music became such a meaningful part or it. Don't know why, but when listening to it is like I'm on solid ground where I'm safe and sound. Maybe it won't solve all my problems, nor give me their answers, but certainly it would calm my self to let me truely feel emotions and relieve me at least a little from the world outside, one that, to this day, looks alien to me. So reading part of the story behind this 10th anniversary remaster, and what's around that first EP release, brought tears to my eyes. I wanted also to say that this new sound doesn't fit my memories about those songs, it sounds weird to me, but really feel the same energy. Also it kinda add more meaning to anything I feel a relationship with about this album.
As someone who's probably around your dad's age, that makes me so happy. When I was a kid, it was Dream Theater (Images and Words is that early-age album for me,) but stuff like this is so much more evolved and distilled in terms of routes of expression. All I can really say to you, based on my own experience... is have a good journey with music. It's gonna be there for you when nothing else is. It's like a gift that keeps on giving, your dad might've just plugged you in. I've lived just long enough to know what it feels like to be exposed to this kind of mind-expanding music so young, alongside so many seeming-mountains of time that would make it all seem like a handful of blips - and then come back around realizing I never stopped playing guitar for over 20 years - and I know less than ever, and there is so much more going on in terms of musical development than when I started playing. May you ride the waves into future discovery and wonder. This stuff was on the frothing precipice of a whole era of progressive metal. There was basically no precedent for his composition style. Really still isn't. One of the beckoning albums of a whole movement. Whatever you have associated in memory, you can experience 10x stronger in 10 years. So much goes into making this music special that only gets better as you peel back chapters in musical discovery. A generation of musicians was transmogrified by this and are still exploring things left in its wake, even if they never admit it. DMM was, to anyone who remembers, a musical pathfinder when he popped up with this stuff. Bro, pops gave you the mold-breakers in the early brain-phases. That's sick man. What kind of music does a person like that listen to, if you don't mind and it's not too late? And hey, if this stuff ever really means anything to ya, find an instrument that personally appeals to you, forget how good you are/stand to get, and have some fun with it, will ya?
This is still one of my absolute favorite sonic creations I love listening too; no matter what mood I am in, I manage to find another nuance of emotion, comfort and just pure joy. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.
10 Years of this masterpiece that Introduce me into Instrumental Progressive Metal. 10 Years and I finally get to know the names of each song... It's beyond beautiful ♥
When I heard this a decade ago, I was blown away and I am blown away again. This remaster is insnane. So many more layers and details! Incredible album, just bought it again.
Found your music by total happenstance, also happened to stick around for Bilo II, EGO + ECO, Bilo III, WBTM, then got to see you live in Philly. Sounds crazy to say but I grew up listening to your music, my formative years were filled with your musical excellence and creativity. Can't repay you, your work truly has changed my life. Thank you David
Glog reminds me of when I was snowed in at work, that would of been about 10 years ago...oddly specific memory triggered by that intro!! Time does fly!
This album's followed me through the last 10 years, and this is.. well, just beautiful. It's been given new life, and even 10 years later, the music itself is incredibly inspired. This is timeless, at least for me. Thanks for all the music David! Zivio brate
I wish i could understand everything the voices say in between parts. Apart from that, this music is very rare and precious; all of your releases. The story and thought behind it, the emotions, and above all that it's really just music for the sake of music. It encourages people like me to keep on playing this game we call life with more enthusiasm, like a kid when you show them something super awesome for the first time. Thx David
The EP that forced my hand and got me into recording my own music. Had this not come out, I don’t know if I’d have self started the way I did. I still don’t know nearly as much as I’d like but I self recorded and produced both of my band’s albums and hearing this EP was the first step in that journey.
oh WOW! The remaster of 'Shadowplay' is INCREDIBLE!!! I mean the whole thing is brilliant, but Shadowplay has gone from a song I didn't like because of the mix, to being...just...perfect.
This is so impressive I am freaking out like a boy who has just received a big present. Thank you david for your dedication in your life we can feel the love in your albums. Much love sir David

Thank you David for the amazing work and tones! You have made me become a better guitar player and inspired me with your greatness! I’m currently using little cubes helix pack live and in the studio and it’s amazing! Thanks again for all you do!
Bought it on Bandcamp! So well worth it! Your PDF insert booklet was incredibly touching and only makes this album more special! Cheers from Chicago, David!

Great jazz musicians and composers are usually very aware of these things, so were you back then!!!
Aha, and contrapunctual thing going on on Shadowplay at the beginning, love it
