  • Théo de Blic's tutorials is a free web serie where I give a few usefull tips on various aspect of paragliding. The tips I give are coming from an already long career as a professional pilot in acro paragliding.
    Since the beginning of the tutorial series I have been asked to do a SAT tutorial, it has taken me many years but here we go, here is the how to do a sat tutorial.
    In this tutorial I am going through the method to do sat as well as the common mistakes and possible issues you might encounter.
    BE CAREFUL : Some gliders do not do SAT, the outside tip refuses to stay inflated. It is not dangerous at all but it is not working beautifully.
    Afraid to learn it on your own ? Check our school at www.riseparagliding.com to learn with me.

    I would add something about always keep an eye on your height: if you do SAT you need to stop the SAT high enough for the spiral exit. Because spiral can consume a lot of height.

    cool stuff, I like the 'negative' scenarios being covered especially 🙃 At the same time I wish the video focused more on what is the right time to pull the break, cause that seems to be the core of SAT and the hardest thing to get right. Also maybe the explanation on how to safely manage unwanted negative spin could be expanded

      @theoflies  8 месяцев назад +5

      That’s the thing about the SAT it is pretty straight forward. When the glider is in front of you you pull. The window is huge. It is really the easiest of maneuvers.
      Exiting the spin though would take a whole tutorial on itself 😂

      @@theoflies Hands up on a spin and catching it is a no-go in that situation ?

    • @theoflies
      @theoflies  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@MyAdventureLog on a normal spin it the best way to exit yes, mainly because in many cases people spin when they don’t want to and have no skills in stalls. but on a sat-spin going hands up might results in a hard shoot. And also on a sat if you spin you know exactly what happened as you are supposed to expect it and also you are supposed to have done stalls already so a backfly exit is supposed to be mastered already.

      I would realy like to se more of resolutions from back flight and similar, I'm not acro but would like to solve things if they happen.

    Thanks so much Theo, followed your wingover guide and it helped my confidence and my wingovers improved a lot.
    I love doing spirals and have always wanted to do a SAT. Now with this video and some good weather I can try. Thanks!

      At organya there are strong and wide thermals, I've seen people climbing while doing helis on small wings.

    Salut Theo,
    Juste une petite question : est-ce que tu aurais une astuce pour faire une SAT propre avec un Beta 6 ? J'ai essayé par mal de bidouilles mais j'ai systématiquement l'extérieur qui flappe...

    • @5ty717
      @5ty717 8 месяцев назад

      Try pull more or less to minimize flap but sometimes the wing n your weight make it flap too

      Hello, Les sous titres sont dispo en français. Mais à la base ces tutos sont censé être plutôt pour les personnes qui n’ont pas accès à des infos sur le parapente comme les pays arabes, du moyen orient ou de l’Asie. En France on a accès à une pléthore d’information sur le parapente et de moniteur donc pas forcément besoin de mes tutos ;)

      @theoflies question : quand tu dis que la voile doit passer devant toi pour le bon timing, qu’est-ce que ca signifie ? Est-ce le moment ou la voile arrive au neutre (face planete) ?

      Sat spiral like WO can be done in any air. Heli mysti n twists need calmer air. If your better like TdB then its relative.

      C'est déjà bien que tu au moins répondu, pour le reste tu dois avoir tes raisons
