This breath control thing so fundamnetal but gets underestimated by a lot of novices: "just breathing out -easy!" I think people envisage exhalation like squeezing a accordion or bagpipes, but lungs are an irregular shape and and airflow/effort is super non linear. When walking i do breath hold exhale using parked cars pr lamposts as markers -finding that last bit of air just a few more paces. Rock On!
Hi Brendan, the breath holding and slow exhalation work you are doing is GREAT exercise, and will TOTALLY make your air control (and therefore, vocals) so much stronger - well done! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
I love this content it helps me alot practicing for my free time at home because I'm planning on becoming a rock singer like my inspirational rock singer Ashley Costello once I graduate school and college keep these up! 🤘🏻 Thank you for the free tips ❤️🖤
Good vid, def good advice I used to warn up in like 5 mins then I started over doing it like 25-40 mins & I noticed my voice would crap out more. I’m back to a short vocal warm up & stretches & feel like I have my voice back
That's awesome to hear! Different warmups work for different people, which is why I am a proponent of "do what works for you" Michael Jackson would warm up about 3hrs in total on show days, and Corey Taylor warms up for only about 30seconds!!! Keep doing what works for your voice, and trust yourself to know your own body! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
@@RockYourBestVocals I just did! Was kinda scared at first because let's be honest... The chorus notes are high but this warmup really helped!! Thank you
Of course, it is possible but the requirement for warmups varies from person to person and depends on how much they sing normally and also on WHAT you are about to sing... it varies by so many factors, but simply put - yes, it's possible
Thank you Thiago, I believe there are too many coaches telling people what to warm up with and I've always believed that it varies between students, and it MUST be enjoyable to the student otherwise they won't do it! So, I take a very much "whatever works for you" approach - that's why I get RESULTS with my students, and that's what matters MOST, right? Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
Hi Peter, you're welcome! And yes! I'm a baritone also and I've taught/conditioned myself to get to G5 with some very specific exercises. Too much detail to explain here, but that kind of range extension is one of the many things that you would get from my Master Vocal Program course (or private lessons). As 'salesy' as that sounds, it would be an insult to the many who've paid me for these results if I just gave it away for free.... PLUS, we don't value what we get for free. (if you're like most people, you've probably gotten tons of free stuff and never used it or valued it) Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!!! 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
that's a tough question, because it varies from person to person.... I suggest just warm up until your voice feels capable of singing whatever you need to sing
As a rock singer who grew up with choral training, this is what I needed to hear 🤣
Hey Emma, so glad to hear it helped!!! Maybe you could share some of your choral tips with me so I can get a good balance 😊👍🙏

Is it possible to sing without warm up but sing correctly?
