    How do Gold and Silver Corrupted Skirmishes work?
    Is it worth it to do these battles? Why are there NO SKIRMISHES on Maddening :)?

    That's crazy skirmishes are so rare on maddening. There is like 5 popping up each time you complete a chapter on Hard.

    Sadly most of us fell into donation maddening trap. Ammount of stuff you can buy for 50-70k is staggering compared to what you get from donations.
    And now here I am, chapter 19 with almost no money

    hey I'm also on maddening, have done every paralogue as I've gotten them as well just wanna let you know that the donations apply to ALL missions! Yes this includes story and paralogues. **Any** time there is an post-mission exploration gathering node the yield is increased according to your donation level. I have personally checked the base values on serenesforest and compared it to my actual gathers. The yield tables are a literal multiplier. For example when it's 1->2 on the table you will literally get twice the number of items, for example steel or silver ingots. This is extremely worth it because silver ingots are worth 5k each and are needed for the best weapons. The last thing you forgot to mention is that donating straight up gives you items, for example the early brave axe for Panette is easily worth the gold put in.

    I can confirm even on Hard donating is not worth it. Level 2 is only 1k, not bad, even level 3, 10k, doable, but anything above that is burning money, infinite grind exploit or no.

    tbf, I didn't even use skirmishes in my hard mode run, if you know what your main party will be in late there won't be any problem that sharing exp between a lot of characters causes.

    I have noticed that if you change time to get more skirmishes, you won't get any more when you go back to the "real" time, since the game will only pop more up AFTER your last skirmish, unless you close your file and come back again. I'm not saying this is what's happening to you, but could it be?

  • @Triad_Orion
    @Triad_Orion Год назад +2

    Hell, even on *Normal* it's not worth donating. Dogs provide you a chance at steel or silver ingots and they replenish after completing maps of any sort, special corrupted or not.
    And even if you're investing, the rate of return on investment is extremely poor for anywhere but Elusia, because they focus on Gold Corrupted. The problem is Elusian maps tend to be trickier *and* are often Fog of War when there are skirmishes there. Given skirmishes tend to follow your max level, they get significantly more daunting and dangerous if you're playing on Classic. Moreover, considering Gold Corrupted only drop between 1,000 or 1,500 gold, you have to kill *several* to break even, let alone profit. And with no way to control where skirmishes spawn, you can't force them to land in Elusia either.
    For economy farming on Normal and Hard, you really are better served dumping every stat upgrade you have onto Anna and turning her into a god unit that has a chance of giving you 500 gold every time she kills something.

    The bridge that borders Firene and Brodia is part of Brodia which is probably the only redeeming map. Other than that Brodia is still pretty scarce for skirmishes even in Hard mode.

  • @Kyrathos
    @Kyrathos Год назад +2

    I think unless you play many, many skirmishes, the donations are always a trap. I'm playing on hard, i get ~4 skirmishes per chapter that i... dont... play. The only thing i need is gold, everything else is far above the current level of the story chapters. And doing an entire gold skirmish for ~2k extra gold is just so staggeringly bad against just keeping the money from donations. Just don't donate unless you HAVE to have the achievements for raising it to certain levels...
    Also: brodia has the least missions, true, but it gets by far the most boni from donations to multipliers compared to other regions

    Not sure if was map rng or not but my 1 skirmish map was way harder than any other map I've done so far despite the recommended level being low.
    I donated a ton myself as I'm big on upfront costs that pay off in the long run but like you said it seems to be a trap where I actually looked up if I was doing something wrong with getting no skirmishes

    From what i've early leveling brodia is an efficient way to get alot of craft material if you can surive the early gold loss. Someone made a thread that 2-3 level bought immediatly after the first brodia chapter give a massive return on investment crafting material wise. V.s buying the same mats at flea market later in the game.

  • @theolong6689
    @theolong6689 Год назад +1

    The donation is more for the resources than anything. Which is why brodia and solm are actually pretty good because you have higher chance of getting silver and iron after a battle. With higher donation you can get large amounts of silver and steal. So on a hard or normal plsythrough I think its worth going up one or two levels at least. Probably not too early and definitely not max out donation. But in the end game when you want to farm up silver for weapon crafting its nice to have high donation. It will save you tons of time and money.

    • @IcedCoffeeGaming
      @IcedCoffeeGaming  Год назад +1

      I just did a skirmish in Brodia at donation level 4 and the only drops I got were: 300 bond fragments and 371 Iron Fragments. In theory you are correct, but in practice you can miss out on getting big silver drops due to RNG even with good donation levels.

      I'd say do donations early, but yeah only to 1 or 2. You get a ton of money early on that doesn't get used for too much, and with the first levels just being 5k and 10k each, they're easily affordable, and can pay off big if you get them before doing many of the story/paralogues in the zone.

    I don't know why there are so many skirmishes in this game. I always press the start button because I don't care about them. At the end of the day, the final chapters are recommended for advanced classes 18 or something like that on Hard, and many of my characters were 20/20/1 through 20/20/5, probably from doing all the paralogues. I was probably 7 levels over the recommended level as it was. They just don't seem necessary to me. I was playing blind and did a load of stuff sub-optimally and I still had no trouble beating it. So if you can't use them on maddening and you don't need them on hard, why are they there? :/

    • @Ryodraco
      @Ryodraco Год назад +6

      Perhaps to give more freedom to play around, level all the characters, give an out for people who are just plain bad at the game but don't want to lower the difficulty, etc.

    • @Katie-hb8iq
      @Katie-hb8iq Год назад

      @@Ryodraco Yeah, I'd probably just use those characters on a new playthrough and favour them properly. Would be a lot more satisfying then leveling them up on the side. This game has so much replayability, it seems silly to waste it in skirmishes, but that's just me.

    • @SH1NK1R01
      @SH1NK1R01 Год назад +1

      This game was designed without a new game plus mode. So without skirmishes and donations then your save file dies after clearing the game. Also the tower of trials requires that you level your characters up to complete the 40 difficulty maps. This system does also help people catch up. You say you did things “sub optimally” but I bet if looking in to it, it wasn’t that bad. I’ve seen people completely pivot to a different team because they weren’t having fun with their current characters. Or force a character in to a role they ended up sucking at but not changing for 15 levels. Skirmishes eliminate the strictness of a playthrough. Otherwise there would be a very specific amount of xp available per run. 3h for instance had this issue. Where you basically couldn’t pivot after a certain point to other students as there simply wasn’t enough time.
