    Hello
I solved the problem by trying something that solved my speed problem. At the stage where you have to cut the wires and leave them aside, on the contrary you have to tie them together! it works perfectly!
    see you soon

About the "hiss" noise: I had the same issue after installing the tonearm mod on two turntables. One was working nice the other had this noise issue.
After testing all the parts separately on the working turntable, I found that the issue came from faulty preamp boards.
Jesse sent me first two of them with a button orders and then two others and only one on the four was working without this noise issue.
This particular noise sounds like the belt friction or motor coming into the audio. Is this noise was here before the button mod?
Because I don't want to mess the tonearm mod if the button mod can also bring problem!
All the best, and hope you'll be able to solve these problems. The mods are expensive and it's not really nice that they are not working properly.

You figure this out bro? Got mine to work but it changed the pitch to super high!!!!!!! Tried mad combos to no avail. Gonna normalize the wiring and old switch and hit Jesse D up. I'm running a beat shelter phono preamp so that might be the issue.

ATTENTION:: This is how to do it for model with single 4 port terminal block. I just did this mod. None of the guides are right. So the wires going to the original start stop thing, you need to cut it off the board, and attached the wires together. Then just cut only the red wire from the motor cable, and strip both ends. Put the end coming from 5he motor into 'motor plus' and the end coming from the board into 'power plus'. Put ground cable into power minus, and leave motor minus free. Leave the existing white cable from the motor in tact.

I disconnected the circuit board of the button and connected the motor back on its original wires. everything is back to normal. so we probably got some broken boards...

    Hey there,
I have exactly the same mods installed to the numark. Tonearm is running and also the fader is working. But when installing the start/stop button, I got the same strange noise coming out from the box as well as the mentioned pitch issues. As chris wrote, my start/stop function is working well. But when pushing start the platter rotates much faster than normal!
Before I had another start/stop button installed it was working before I added the JD tonearm. After installing the tonearm the start/stop function was dead. Trying to fix this issue with switching to the JD button. The the mentioned pitch problem and sound noises are now nearly the same as you described in your video!
    Has someone fixed this problem?

      Ja.
Habe alles weitgehend so getestet, wie du beschrieben hast. Dann irgendwann selbst aufgegeben. Habe hier zwei verschiedene Start/Stop Knöpfe.

LED-Lampe...

Your wiring is wrong, if you’re look at the Jesse dean start stop board.
“POWER -“ : black wire that comes with kit screws into “power -“ slot, other end remove screw that is holding spring down next to the preamp board and mount wire there.
“POWER +” : when you cut the motor wire, separate wires on both sides of the cut. Red wire on the board side of the cut goes into “power +”, the white wire will not be used.
“Motor -“ : does not have any wires going into board.
“Motor +” : red wire from motor side of your cut goes into “motor +”.
For the white wire on the motor, use the crimp that comes with the kit and Connect the white wire from the motor and the white wire from the original start / stop board. The red/white wire attached with the white wire will not be used.
You should be good after that.

Check out these instructions www.zendell.uk/LINKS/JDDSSB_install.pdf - there is a schematic at the bottom of the 3rd page that looks different to the wiring you tried. The white cable from the power board to the motor should be crimped together or twist the wire ends and use insulation tape. The red cable from the power board goes to the power + terminal on the switch board and the motor + red cable goes to the motor + terminal. Then connect the power - to the ground spring terminal. I think the labelling on the board is a bit confusing, so it's easy to wire incorrectly. I would like to get one of these kits - could you try rewiring and let us know if it works correctly?
