This was actually very straight forward and easy to do! I did this after installing the fader, but this was the only electronics work I’ve ever done. Thanks for the video! I have the newer preamp, so the linked video helped a lot. Thanks!
Absolutely no sound coming from an y headphone Jack or the built in speaker. I’ve gone over the instructions all day and everything is as it should be according to them. Any advice, I think I have some faulty boards!
I would love to know if Jesse Dean can had a solve for the sound only coming out of the left channel issue that so many seem to be having. Its unfortunate that he hasn't had any sort of solution after this long and with so many people having had the same issue. I actually got two tonearms. Both are having identical issues. And one of them also has a bad buzz that I haven't been able to get rid of. I really hope you can offer me/us some sort of solution to this problem. I'm as portable of a dj as they come and have been nothing but extremely excited to buy and use your products, and obviously this is becoming a huge disappointment. And I know not just for myself. Can you please help @jesse dean?
. I bought a crossfader from jddx2r and all it makes me believe is that it's broken. so I have a numark pt01 scratch and I can't mix with it because nothing is heard. Do I need an external speaker for this? you could also do an installation tutorial on how the connected cables come.
Hi. I just installed a tonearm and the latest @jessiedean preamp, works great but my line in volume became really low and the gain knob doesn’t seem to work anymore.. what could be the issue?
Apologies for my lack of knowledge, but would this tone arm be suitable for an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge or a similar one? Appreciate your guidance. Thanks!
after sitting on this for a year I finally did it. There was another video that i followed for an older model and even this video doesnt have the same kind of pcb. now the audio from the speakers is significantly quieter, any suggestions to fix?
Hi, i forgot the very last step with black cable and turned Pt 01 on... no Reaktion. i connected it afterwards but the turntable wont Start. Did i burn smt By forgeting the Last step?
The instructions for early non-USB models are here: jessedeancustoms.com/pages/installation-guides-2. It is a more complex process requiring soldering. Will be following these soon. Will update when I have done (or failed).
I installed this in my Ion the other day and I only seem to have audio from the left channel. I will double check my connections soon. I noticed my preamp is different to the one in this video as it has two power terminals. What is the purpose of the second power terminal? Many Thanks.
@@thcpills I did. Turned out the ribbon wire was a bit twisted and caught. I re routed it somewhere where it wouldn't be and all is well. Stereo sound!
Which ribbon cable are you talking about? I'm having the same issue with left channel. Reinstalled and traced every wire for proper routing and no crimps. Still no left channel sound.
@@thomashuntsman113 That sucks. When I say the ribbon cable I mean the JST cable between the preamp and the preamp breakout board. Have you had another look at your cartridge connections? Triple check everything I guess and if no joy email Jesse Dean Designs. I hope you get it sorted!
Mr @Jesse Dean I just ordered the JDDPTA-PCB tone arm kit today and the first comment kinda made me weary im not gonna have audio from the left, other than that im very excited to receive it and install in my pt01usb, but I don't have a cartridge and their looking expensive, and I have no idea what to look for I want to only spend $50 on a cartridge?stylus which ones cheap?? will a Ortofon proS om series work off bhphoto for $49??
Jesse...Dude you completely skipped the cartridge install??? I've got four different colour plugs/wires and I've got no idea on the configuration? 🤔 can anyone help?...what goes where??
I believe my power breakout board is a dud.. everything powers up fine when things are plugged in normally, but as soon as I rout everything through the breakout board to go to the pre amp. It no longer will turn on. Could there be something farther down the chain causing the PT01 to not power on? if not It HAS to be the power breakout board..
I'm trying to fit this to a NT-1 without USB how do you fit it as it says on the internet it fits both decks ! Help needed i have e mailed the website Jesse Dean and sent photos of the problem !
Hi, I'm also having the issue of know sound coming through the left channel. I've checked the cable connecting the preamp break out board (seems to be no longer a ribbon cable on recent versions), and my supplier gave me a replacement preamp kit, but still no good anyone find any other solutions please? Thanks!
Hi Jesse Dean !!! Weeked tutorial well explained !!! is it compatible with a Pt01Usb and the start-stop 16 mm ? because if it is the case I think I'm going shopping in your shop! because other things interest me that I do not find anywhere else hehe Thank you in advance Peace
Yo, I respect and appreciate the mods you guys create, but I have gone through 3, yes 3 numark Pt-01(thank god for guitar centers coverage) trying to install this tone arm. And each time it is always a power issue. I have done everything step by step perfect on this. No breaking, no wires touching etc etc. and this still kills my numarks. Like what the fuck. There should be an updated video on this.
@Jesse Dean Right channel (headphone) issue here as well. Nice and stereo for the first 2 minutes before the right channel dropped by 95%. Any suggestions? I have the m44-7 mounted.

Found the problem
@@ArturMINIMAL oh what did you find?
@@akyerit Straighten the cable going from preamp to preamp break out board. Mine was bent and twisted at first and that caused the problem.

Great install video but I'm having the same issue as some regarding not having left channel audio output from the tonearm. Any suggestions?
I have this issue? Any ideas?
What's the difference between this tonearm (JDDPCB) and the JDDPTA tonearm.
i believe the JDDPTA PCB is the newest model that doesn't require soldering.
This instructions work for the numark pt01 USB ?

Thinking bout picking one of these up but my tonearm clip is broken and i may have lost it. will i still be able to affix the pcb tonearm for transit?

The sound only comes through the speaker when the fader is open

I've got the same problem and I wonder if you got the solution
is there a way to fit cart angled? i know straight mount improve tracking but it also wear vinyl more and it sound worse.
Nice im interested in purchasing new tone arm but not sure if i should buy this one or your other one. What are the differences?
What's the tight track?
this does not work for NT-1 without USB. The pre-amp is also not the one send with the tonearm. An updated video for all models would be welcome!
Yer new parts needed and a new video as folk are buying these to fit to PT 1 Mk1 !

Just got one of these my pre amp is different? Have you changed it since this vid
Not as of now
My pre amp is different too
Yep and mine
Also need some information about moving the weight at the back of the tonearm how was it done ?
LOOSEN THE WEIGHT BY TWISTING TOP AND BOTTOM WEIGHT. SLIDE TO DESIRED WEIGHT THEN TWIST TIGHT.
Just installed now I have a unpleasant sound coming from the speaker
i have the same issue. you fixed that?
Im only getting sound from one side

Did you find solution I believe I read that it's converted to mono somewhere in the pto1 main board not sure if it was the pt01 tho
I did everything about the video. But I have ground noise. I grab the arm and it sounds louder. what is the problem?
Same problem.. any solutions for this?
I also removed capacitors C8 & C18 to get this to work properly.
Why ?
Last question lol : the adjustment of weight is done with the wheels at the end of the tone arm Thanks Big up
