Donna, this brought tears to my eyes. You are the model example of a great bird owner who is so knowledgeable, loving, caring and and responsible. It hurts so much to find out that one of your bird have this virus and the possibility of losing your whole flock to it. You have done all the right things afterwards and even making sure Fantasy goes to a home with bird experience and no existing birds. You can’t do more than what you have already done. I thank you for sharing this with us bird owners and bird owners wannabes. Your message is so crucial and must be taken seriously. Being a good bird owner comes with a ton of responsibilities. If only all bird breeders/sellers’ heart is with the birds and people and not in their pockets. Bless you and your flock. May each and every one of them have longevity. Again, thank you for all you do for your birds and for all domestic birds around the world because of your knowledge sharing.
I am so very sorry Donna. It's obvious how much you love all of your birds. I'm broken hearted for you but I know you did the right thing. I'm sure your boy will be taken good care of and his new owner will keep you updated. Love Linda from Scotland 🏴 x
That's great news 😊. You made the responsible decision. An uncaring owner would probably have taken the easy way out by having him put to sleep. You on the other hand searched for the best home you could find for him to let the beautiful wee boy live a happy life. You are a lovely lady and all of your pets are fortunate to have an owner like you x
I’m glad he has a new home and can have a normal life. I feared for the worst after reading the title. Still tough to say goodbye to your bird but atleast you will have comfort knowing he’s safe and cant harm other birds. Respect for the dedication you give to your birds.
Your watery eyes show how cute and strong your bond is with birds. I'm s happy that she is doing great now! I'm praying for her speedy recovery. May God bless u and your whole flock. Lots of love from India. :)
I am so sorry to hear about Fantasy. Im crying watching this vlog. Donna, i know this is really hard for you, but Fantasy will have a good life. Try to stay strong and i will be praying for you. You are such a good bird mom!
Awww I am truly sorry for you & Fantasy…Poor Baby😢Thank Goodness your others birds weren’t infected! Praying Fantasy finds a Loving, Caring, Family that will take care of him the way you did🙏❤️🙏I Wish Fantasy the Best Sweet Baby🥰🙏💚🦜❤️😘
You are such a responsible and caring owner. It is sad that Fantasy has the virus but you are wonderful to have paid for all the tests and for finding her a new home with an experienced owner. I really admire you for that and your video with all the information in it as well as your honesty will help other bird owners so much. Thank you for sharing your experience with Fantasy.
Oh no I’m truly sorry for this devastating news. I’m so glad you had him tested and took all the precautions ahead of time so this wouldn’t affect the rest of your flock. Sending you love and strength during this difficult time ❤️
I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I remember when you lost Rio. Thank you for sharing the importance of quarantine of all new birds. I made the mistake of not doing this years ago and brought in a pair of lovebirds unknown to me they had an aspergillus infection that spread to my flock. I lost all my babies and about half of the flock and ended up with a vet bill of about 9000 this was in 1998. It was a painful and costly experience. I now quarantine any new animals that come into my house birds rabbits and especially fish.
I´m really sorry for you, I can imagine how hard it is to rehome a pet. You´ve made the right option, even though it´s not easy. We can see how much you love him, you´ll be in his heart forever! I´m sure you found the right place for him! Don´t be upset...We love you Fantasy!
So sorry Donna.. You take such good care of your birds, in doing so, you diverted a potential disaster, and in hoping the next group test is negative, which surely it will be, Fantasy gets to live a good life, and your birds carry on in their wonderful life and home. All the best.
Awwww I'm so sorry for thia loss. I've been following you for a long while now and you waited solo long to get another IRN.... Awwww I'm crying with you....

Awww Donna, I’m so sorry he’s ill. You did the right thing - but I can only imagine how difficult that was to hand him over to his new person. You did a great job in training him well as a young bird and setting him up for success going forward. #hug
I’m so very sorry, I can only imagine how hard this must be for you. At least Fantasy has gone to a good home and all of your other birds are safe. It could have been a very different outcome. Thank goodness you quarantine and test for diseases before introducing new birds in to your flock. x
Oh, dear, you were so happy about having him, I'm so sorry it has to come to this. At least your birds are safe and Fantasy will have a good forever home. That’s so scary and terrible, and I’m so sorry. I hope that Fantasy will be happy with his new home and that your birds are all safe and healthy.
I'm so sorry Donna. I'm holding the tears in watching this. Do you think you will eventually get another Ringneck? They are just such cool birds! You are doing what is best for Fantasy and hopefully he can continue with his life in the new home. Donna, check your PayPal; you've been through a lot with this and I want to assist here.

Aww Donna 😢 I’m sorry this happened…you seem to have no luck with the ring necks 🙁. I’m currently in a similar situation but mine is with an owl finch…I have 3 of them but only one has issues…I’ve had him at the vet and they had no idea what it could be and after hearing what your vet did I’m sitting here thinking why didn’t you test my birds poop 😳 they did nothing, they didn’t want to do anything to him because he’s so small…surprisingly he’s not spread it to any of the other birds but now he’s at a point where I don’t think he’s gonna bounce back 😢 and I’m sooo worried and wish I could help him 🙁. It really sucks having to loose one of our birdies 😔

Hi Donna , Iam soo sorry to hear about Fantasy.I can relate about dishonest breeders. My little a Quaker had Bornavirvus. The pet store where I got her said she was in excellent condition but unfortunately they never had her parents tested.I had her around my Timneh but they were not together. She died at my vet hospital at only 6 yrs of age and in the last day of her little life she suffered for a couple of hrs having a big seizure.I never quarantined her, but thank God my Stormy never got it as I had him tested for Bornavirvus and he was negitive.Stormy though was tested by his breeder in No. Carolina who is very responsible. He was tested for polyoma virvus and I believe I have a certificate showing he has been vaccinated for it and Iam going to check now. Iam glad you do not have to put Fantasy down. My son has to put their poor 18 dog down mon. at their home but I will not be there for that. She has so many health issues , but my son is falling apart over it.I hope Fantasy will be able to have a good life.Bye for now , take care.
That's too bad about your Quaker. Glad Stormy is okay. 18 years is a nice long life for a Dog. It's hard to say goodbye but sometimes it's the kindest thing to do.
@@Loveofpets That’s so true.A vet is coming mon to put poor Spirit to sleep .I was told the first shot put her into a deep sleep and the second one is the one that will end her little life. The whole family will be there, except me.I will say goodby to her with hugs on Sunday. She lost her hearing , has some kind of dementia, she has arthritis and can not hardly walk. She started getting seizures and they think she had brain cancer and tumors are breaking out on her leg.My son finially realized that it’s cruel to keep her alive when her vet spoke to him. I knew you would understand as I know you have been through sad moments like this yourself.. I do value all the info you give us many thanks.Take care
So sorry for you and Fantasy. I lost my Timneh because of pdd. He was only 3 years old. You can test your birds yourself, it cost a lot less than the vet doing it
Thank you. Sorry for your loss. The only test we can do ourselves is a dna test on genders. The rest has to be done by veterinarians. I have searched for a place were I can do the tests myself but can't fine any in Canada
He does look heathly. That's why it's best to do testing because they may not show any symptoms but one day he could drop dead or get ill or lead a normal life. So far he is doing well. If I never did the testing I would of thought he was a healthy bird.
I’m sorry to hear that but I have a question. If I only have one bird does it really matter? Could the disease effect me or any other humans? Another question is that isnt fantasy a female Indian ring neck? Also does fantasy have his wings cut off? Did you want him to be incapable of flying or did u buy him that way and did his wings grow back? I have an Indian ringneck and her wing feathers were cut off very badly and nothing is left from them so I’m wondering if they can grow back. I hope thats not too many questions.
If you only have the one bird that's okay. It's not transmitted to humans. His flight feathers were trimmed when I got him. He was dna testes as a male. He is just a baby so his neck ring has not developed yet and that's why he looks like a female. Flight feathers grow back
@@Loveofpets oh I knew he looked young from his beak but I still thought he could be a female. Anyways thank you for answering my questions and I’m really sorry u had to part with fantasy. I really enjoy your videos by the way and think they are helpful for me as a bird owner.

So sorry :(
Fantasy seems like such a good boy. I am so sorry 💔❤️🩹
Latent is pronounced like ‘late’ and ‘tent’.
@@Loveofpets oh ok, in France we can do tests for deseases ourselves and send to labs
😭🥺
I am so sorry you have to go through this. I hope he has a great life in his new home. Is there any chance you can sue his breeders?
Thank you. I don't want to sue, it's too costly and time consuming.
Awww this is horrible. Hopefully he is a latent (lay-tint is how it’s pronounced) case and thrives in his new home.
Awww no
💔
You scared me!!!
Sorry. Fantasy is doing well in his new home.
Sorry to hear that but looks so healthy to me
He does look heathly. That's why it's best to do testing because they may not show any symptoms but one day he could drop dead or get ill or lead a normal life. So far he is doing well. If I never did the testing I would of thought he was a healthy bird.

💔💔💔💔💔😭😭😭😭
This video was hard to watch I keep and raise pigeons and know all to well the polyomavirus and the toll it takes on birds
It was hard for me to make but wanted to spread awareness. Quarantine is the best way to help our flocks.
I really enjoy your videos by the way and think they are helpful for me as a bird owner.
did you get him from a breeder or a pet store?
مرحبا.... انا من مصر رجاء أخبرني هل تم إيجاد علاج لهذا المرض أم لا.... أرجوك تواصلي معي
Not that I am aware of.
How do you tell if your birds are male or female being so young?
Fantasy was dna'd to tell his gender.
