Dumbledore clapped weird in the first movie bc people in positions of authority who are at a long ceremony, like the sorting, basically have to clap constantly, which gets tiring, so they do a very minimal clap with little energy expenditure so they don't get tired by the end. That makes it all the more special when Dumbledore fully clapped for Harry's sorting
I think with the potion in the cave, Dumbledore specifies something about needing the "intent" to drink it - the potion somehow will only let you scoop it up if you intend to drink it and not try to cheat the system. It might also refill if you don't actually drink it
Another way to look at Ron having the deluminator is that it would get the trio back together regardless of how they get separated. Dumbledore didn't necessarily think Ron would bail.
They did change it up slightly. Ben used to ask J the questions and he would have to come up with it on the spot, and then compare the two answers. I guess they changed it to make it more coherent/cohesive, but it takes away the "game" aspect.
@tylarjackson7928 I may be wrong, but by the time they stopped doing it, I do remember it being in this format. Obviously the graphics are different, but I do remember it being this way, and the very first one was - I'm pretty sure - also J by himself. Totally willing to be proven wrong though. 😊

Can you all make a video about why Dumbledore doesn’t have Harry pull his memory of Voldemort returning at the graveyard out and show it to Fudge in the pensive, everything that happened? Seems like that would be a pretty infallible way to always get to the truth…
@aisleelovegreenwood6448 Dumbledore has said with him being a sufficiently accomplished occlumense (not sure on spelling) that he can find the true memory of the person lets him go in to get it. He got the real memories from Hepsiba Smiths house elf and from Morfin Gaunt that Voldemort had altered. So I tend to believe they could have had a prettty good assurance that Harry’s memory was legit. Also, to modify the memory takes high level of skill that Slughorn had, but still did it poorly. Voldemort was powerful and skilled enough to do it as a teen, but I think they’ve shown that modifying memories like that is not easy. You make excellent point tho!
Love to see this make a return. Probably not the first video I ever saw on your channel, but the ones that made me stay and eventually become a fan for many years of all of your projects was the Google Autofill videos.
i think so bcs malfoy was stalling and he stalled long enough for snape to come, and since snape had made the unbreakable vow he wouldve killed him either way
I think Charlie's old wand was third-hand or older. We assume Charlie was in the same class as Tonks (Class of '91) if so, Charlie bought a new wand either; during the later part of his seven years, or just after graduation. (Maybe a summer job with Hagrid before his 7th Year?) If his wand was new when he got it, why buy a new one before the summer after his graduation is even over? It may just be a "Weasley Tradition" that they start with an older family member's wand. It's my own head cannon that Fred & George had Fabian & Gideon's wands, and Ginny used her mother's old wand (or god forbid, Muriel's) her first year. (Both she and Ron getting new wands at the same time, after the CoS incident.) Bill most likely had Arthur's first new wand but, where did Percy's hand-me-down wand come from? If it IS a family tradition, Arthur himself would have used a second-hand wand, maybe his own father's. If so, maybe Bill used his Grandfather's wand and Percy used the wand Arthur bought to replace his father's or vice versa. That would leave the origin of "Charlie's Old Wand" in question. Grandma Weasley's wand is possible, as are both maternal (Prewett) grandparent's wands. Or; What if Arthur had an older brother who fought and died during Voldemort's First Blood War? I mean, both the Prewetts and the Weasleys are known for popping out kids but, Arthur is an only child? Maybe Arthur was the oldest and his siblings and parents were killed by Death Eaters during the school year.
I know that Dumbledore yelling at Harry about his name coming out of the Goblet isn’t book accurate but it’s certainly a very honest and realistic reaction to the situation. If he’d acted that way in the book the other Headmasters probably wouldn’t have been so quick to accusations of Hogwarts cheating, even though that doesn’t really matter. I honestly think it’s just so funny that non of the students trying to cheat the age line didn’t figure out that they could literally just ask an older student to put their name in the Goblet for them or at the very least bribe an older student to do it 😂 I’m sure if Fred and George had figured it out they would have maybe even tried to intimidate someone under threat of some sort of awful prank or even a sloo of continues pranks.
People seriously thought Dumbledore sees socks in the Mirror? Harry realizes after a couple pages (and less than an in-universe hour) that he was lying, and this is explicitly brought up once again in Deathly Hallows when Harry recalls that the only personal question he ever asked Dumbledore was one that he was sure wasn't answered truthfully. This isn't even a "the movie tainted our collective memory of the books" thing, the sock question never made it into the film.
Dumbledore didnt know its a basilisk because only harry and Voldemort could tell the snake was speaking. If Dumbledore or anyone else even heard hissing, they could think its something else.
Dumbledore is far too intelligent not to know. Are you telling me he never asked Moaning Myrtle what happened? How she died? And how many creatures can kill you by stare alone. Come on.
I was just assuming that Dumbledore didn't say what it was because he wanted Harry to deal with in in the second year but the reason why it wasn't dealt with before then was because he couldn't find or open the entrance.
Actually, the main theory on why Dumbledore hired Lockhart was: because Lockhart took credit for something someone Dumbledore knew did. And wanted to expose him. Since the DADA position was cursed, he would get exposed as a fraud.
Dumbeldore doesn’t seem like the kind of person to hire a teacher just for the sake of exposing the teacher, especially for one year of learning and especially for the students taking OWLS and NEWTS
@hamster4810 Actually, I can see Dumbledore doing that. Remember, he knew the job was jinxed by voldemort. Lockhart wasn't much of a teacher anyway, he was just an egotistical narcissist. All he mainly did was brag about stuff he claimed to have done in his books. Which I found really annoying. I hate Lockhart second to Umbridge.
Maybe the question about why Dumbledore sounds different is referring to how Jim Dale narrates him in the audiobooks...in the first book he gives him a higher, more nasally voice. For the second book it's lower and sounds more tired. But for the rest of the series it's a calm, low, and measured voice. He just had to find the right voice. In book four, while Harry is at the death eaters trial in the penseive, he gives Bellatrix a very low female voice, but from book five on its high with an accent that really fits the character better.
I had watched almost all your old Google autofill videos, even the one about bagels. Lol. Just seeing the title of this video and seeing it was new, I was like, "yay! 🙂"
Dumbledore 's voice changes in the audiobooks. His voice in the first few books is very different from how it is in the last ones where his presence is much greater.
Albus Dumbledore still loved Gellert Grindelwald and the deluminator would give Albus a way to reach him if ever he spoke is name with love in his heart. The same way Hermione spoke of Ron. This fact makes it even more sad.
My biggest question has always revolved around the removing of memories for the use in a pensieve, cos it doesn't seem like Dumbledore or Slughorn forget anything when they remove them, but when Snape does it he is doing it specifically to keep those memories from Harry. I always thought of it like, you can still remember that you remember that, you just can't bring forth the memory. It's still part of what makes you, you, but Harry would never be able to directly access the memory, and if Snape tried, he would equally be unable to recall anything specific, besides maybe the way he felt, what that lead to, why he was there, etc.
He also played the First Doctor in Doctor Who in recent years. And he played the main character's dementia-ridden dad in After Life. David Bradley is just a great actor.
@@SuperCarlinBrothers after the video I just saw the autofill playlist and saw you did Voldemort already maybe snaps or Ron or hermione, hagrid, malfoy? So many characters from Harry Potter to play around with in these videos. Flood your channel with content of them!😂
I believe that the deluminator was supposed to take them to dumbledore‘s tomb to get the wand. Also, why was Wormtail listening through doors. I believe JK was writing plots around those random things and they were never written in/they were unfinished
So funny story. I set down my book to have dinner and then come watch this, and then I get to the question about the Pensieve, the chapter I happened to be on at that moment. I had a hunch, opened up to my bookmark, looked to the end of the page I was on, and there was that Dumbledore quote, right there. Absolutely perfect timing :D It could only have been better if it had been on Page 394. Alas, it was 597.
Im with dumbedore. one can never have enough socks. I esecially LOVE the feeling of putting on a brand new pair of socks. When they are totally all soft and nice and new without any pilling or anything like that . just feels so nice to put your feet into new socks.
[Clarification] Why does Dumbledore's voice change?: This is most likely referencing the moment in the movie when Albus removes a memory at the pensieve while telling Harry about it. J mentions this in another explanation and noticed that J did not make the connection. Albus' voice changes as he removes the memory for the very reason he is removing the memory. The stress of the memory disappears from his mind as he removes the memory and his voice pattern changes from strained/stressed to relaxed/confident as the memory exits his mind.
My theory, why Dumbledore hires Filch, is that he saved Filch from Death Eaters. Filch has been in Hogwarts since 1970:s and that's when the first wizarding war was at its peak. Death eaters hunted and killed squibs, so Filch seeked savety from the savest place from wizarding world
This is new to me but great. One thing you missed with regard to Lockhart, there was (and maybe still is) an article on Lockhart on Pottermore and JK said one of Dumbledores friends had been the victim of one of Lockharts memory spells and he was hoping to catch him out by having him come teach. I agree with the rest of the answers too though. Why are socks so important?????they are mentioned 76 times throughout the books. Why?????
Was there ever an answer to what happened to Dumbledore's memories in the pensieve after he died? Did they disappear or stay? And if they stayed, were they dumped out so the next Headmaster could use the magical artifact? Does having memories from multiple headmasters in the same pensieve cause problems with its use, such as an inability to differentiate between which memory belongs to which headmaster? Or would the memories bleed together over time? Do memories not contained with a brain or magicsl container stick around or immediately disappear forever? So many questions...
15:14 I like the Idea that he didn't see only socks, rather a nice moment with his brother and sister, maybe knitting socks together. 18:14 He could still be visibly upset and forcing himself to stay calm.
As a nomaj, What does Jacob see while inside of Hogwarts? Is there a point where the illusion no longer affects you? "Why is everyone sitting in the middle of these ruins, eating?"
Have you guys explored the idea that the painting of the fat woman wasnt destroyed by serious at all, but possibly by Lupin? In the movie at least, the tear doesnt look like something a dog would would do but it DOES look like it could be formed by the large claw of a werewolf.
I don't think Filch is a Poltergeist, although I like the idea of it, it can't be true because in Goblet of Fire, Molly Weasley says she took a walk with Arthur late at night one time and Arthur was caught by "Apollyon Pringle" who was the Caretaker back then.
theory! Grindelwald casts a spell at Dumbledore while Dumbledore has like his back turned or no wand, HAGRID steps in between the 2 and takes the hit for Dumbledore. Because as we know in box 5 when Umbridge and them all go to fire Hagrid during the astronomy (i know that not spelled right!) exam that spells bounce off him like Stunning spells! And maybe thats why Dumbledore trusts Hagrid so much! Because he legit was a crucial part in how Grindy gets caught, nothing to do with beasts. Hagrid saves Dumbledore bc Dumbledore as we all know got Hagrid the job as game keeper.
While we’re talking about blasts from the past we want to see more of, PLEEEEEEASE do another J vs. Ben blind drawing challenge! (Also more THESE SOCKS ARE AMAZINGs because I really miss those.)
other fandoms please! I love Harry Potter Google autofills, but can we get some Marvel, Disney, and Pixar? That being said, would love to see an Google autofill about the Golden Trio and ones about magical objects or fantastic beasts in Harry Potter :) I love that Google Autofill is making a comeback though 🥳🥳🥳
18:15 My theory is that Harry literally just embarrassed both Dumbledore and Hogwarts in front of the entire Wizarding World. Made Dumbledore look incompetent, and just jeopardized his entire plan to have Harry take out Voldemort. He's a little upset about the whole situation, so he raises his voice. Yes, the book sais "Calmly" but it also sais that Winky and Peeves exist.. But we didn't get those either. It's not a direct adaptation.
Hearing about Dumbledor's enjoyment of Lemon Drops reminded me of his Office Password which Harry just randomly guessed at one point. This leads to the question: Do you think he gets Sybil to help him with his passwords so students in need can actually guess it?
With the "Did you put your name..." Everyone is quick to point at Michael Gambon for the poor adaptation, but the director had every opportunity to do multiple takes and "correct" him, but chose not to, or to include this take in the movie. So as long as Gambon didn't refuse to do a different take, it's totally on the director.
Oh come on stop with the filch poltergeist theory, he's clearly a regular squib. He recieves a letter and has magic courses ad for squibs in his office. Poltergeists don't receive posts and he clearly wants to perform magic so he's not "the manifestation of following the rules"
What if Dumbledore made the Deluminator to find Grindelwald? What if it was made thinking they still were in love to some extent and it would be the way he could make his way back to him regardless of where he hid. Could be a completely bad theory if the deluminator was made later, not sure when it was, but just an idea.
For the filch employ one i like the theory that says that he is not technically employing FILCH but protecting miss Norris, being in this theory that she was a maledictus that ended up transformed into a cat instead of a snake like nagini and they had a relation (whether husbands, twins or whatever it depends) with filch being the only one that understood her even in that form (probably being that miss norris helped the order of the phoenix in the first war or what you like to think)
Dude, Dumbledore had one loved one left. And if that single person had ever wanted to see him for the rest of the decades of his life, then Albus would have used it in a second. The extinguisher was probably added after its creation, so he could justify carrying it around all the time.
The poltergeist theory is great and all but it falls flat on its face when you remember that there was a caretaker before Filch. He was mentioned by Molly in Goblet of Fire.
She does and in the SCB video that introduced the Filch/poltergeist theory they explain that I believe. I don't remember why but I'm pretty sure they addressed it.

YES! I was so excited to hear it again.
I miss these! Yay. Do hermione
That sounds fun!
The Voldemort one of these was the first SCB video I ever saw, apparently its 9 years old but RUclips must be wrong or I'm getting old! 🤫
@@SuperCarlinBrothers after the video I just saw the autofill playlist and saw you did Voldemort already maybe snaps or Ron or hermione, hagrid, malfoy? So many characters from Harry Potter to play around with in these videos. Flood your channel with content of them!😂
When i hear the sound at the end of the video into the outro I still say out "THESE SOCKS ARE AMAZING!" 😁😃
18:00 HE SAID THE THING!!!
Next time on the Super Carlin show, they might actually reveal what's behind the door!
Absolutely perfect timing :D
It could only have been better if it had been on Page 394. Alas, it was 597.
ahh I'm so happy this is back! looking forward to more google autofills. I love this format
Why?????
I MISSED IT SO MUCH! MY DREAM COME TRUE!
Its taken 75 comments since june of 2022 but here we are...
THEY FINALLY UPLOADED A GOOGLE AUTO FILL VIDEO!
THE SOCKS ARE AMAZING!!!
SCB gave ME amazing socks? I AM FREE!!!!!
RIP Dobby
At the end of EVERY video “these socks are AMAZING” pops into my head. This made my day!
"*Point your* wand right into his mouth, man!" Probably the funniest, out of context thing thats been said on this channel
Have you guys explored the idea that the painting of the fat woman wasnt destroyed by serious at all, but possibly by Lupin? In the movie at least, the tear doesnt look like something a dog would would do but it DOES look like it could be formed by the large claw of a werewolf.
The knitting patterns thing was a heavy-handed way of hinting that Dumbledore was gay.
The long awaited return of Google Autofill. I did my waiting. Six years of it.
Dumbledore making better sweaters than Mrs.Weasley.
That being said, would love to see an Google autofill about the Golden Trio and ones about magical objects or fantastic beasts in Harry Potter :)
I love that Google Autofill is making a comeback though 🥳🥳🥳
With the "Did you put your name..."
Everyone is quick to point at Michael Gambon for the poor adaptation, but the director had every opportunity to do multiple takes and "correct" him, but chose not to, or to include this take in the movie.
Such a fun throwback to see this format of videos again! :)
I’ve always thought if Harry tried to summon water in dumbledore’s mouth he may just accidentally fill his stomach AND lungs with water…
What a throwback!!
Everything about it is a throwback.
Matt Patt from GameTheory just had a throwback video too. I hope this becomes a trend
Guys you should make a video about the Black family tree since it actually connects Draco, Harry, Ron, and Neville and it's really intriguing
Dude, Dumbledore had one loved one left. And if that single person had ever wanted to see him for the rest of the decades of his life, then Albus would have used it in a second. The extinguisher was probably added after its creation, so he could justify carrying it around all the time.
I never understand why how does Dumbledore win the elder wand if you can’t defeat, the owner like shouldn’t have Dumbledore just lost the Grindelwald?
Deluminator = Grindwald tracking device. A pair would be a two way communicator if they both have one and love eachother.
It's back.
(No seriously, I loved this series so much back when y'all did it! I'd love to see more!)
Day 5 of asking scb why none of the portraits in book 2 reported the basilisk! I love y'all's channel!!!!
The poltergeist theory is great and all but it falls flat on its face when you remember that there was a caretaker before Filch. He was mentioned by Molly in Goblet of Fire.
While I love the “Filch is a poltergeist” theory, didn’t Molly mention someone else being the caretaker when she was in school?
She does and in the SCB video that introduced the Filch/poltergeist theory they explain that I believe. I don't remember why but I'm pretty sure they addressed it.
@@khaymengraves I’ll have to rewatch that one, though it also doesn’t fit if the new Hogwarts Legacy game is cannon, but that’s easier to disregard
brothers, why didn't fred become a hogwarts ghost? i feel like he would have chosen to stay and playfully haunt the castle
I don't think Dumbledore ever Google autofilled anything. I doubt he knew what Google was.
Nothing would warm my heart more than seeing Dobby and Dumbledore discuss why they love socks.
First! Happy holidays 😊
Why doesn't the basilisk wound kill the horcruk in Harry? Is it because Fawkes saves him?
What is new in the world? Nothing. What is old in the world? Nothing. Everything has always been and will always be.
THESE SOCKS ARE AMAZING! love this throw back!
If you want more, newer, characters for autofill, I would love to recommend The Owl House
Nooooo, I love this video, but I thought this was going to be a theory on why Dumbledore trusts Hagrid looool
A GOOGLE AUTOFILL!
Thank you, that was fun.
(I miss those socks advertisements of yours.)
GOOGLE AUTOFILL! These socks are amazing too!
