It works even better with ice. grain the saffron to the powder and add it to ice as and let the ice melt. This way it will have stronger scent and color.
Hello. For every one cup of rice, add 1.5 cups of water/stock. That way you don't need to top it up. Put the lid on and don't take it off, and it will be done in max 25 mins.
You should definitely try biryani I'm sure you will love it It's almost the same like this dish you just made but with a bit of indian flavor Next you want to make something like this make sure to try biryani Love you
As Arabian from Saudi Arabia we have our famous dish which called "kabsah", similar to this dish, every Saudi family eats it at least one time in 3 days It's normal to eat it every day
Hey Lisa really really like your videos.... you have inspired me a teenagers to get into the kitchen....I love your positivity thanks for everything you have done🥰🥰🥰
She literally just maid arroz con poillo but in her own way…im Haitian/Dominican so I know a dish when I see it well done Lisa you get an A+ in my book
Good tip for rice. With 1 cup of rice always use 2 cups of liquid wether it’s water or broth. Cover and within 20-25 mins you will have perfectly cooked rice. I love this recipe and will 100% try it ❤️ love you and your videos Lisa they always cheer me up when I’m having a bad day
Denise Armstrong I ruin SO much rice before I figured it out too. There is always a learning curve with cooking rice on the stove top. It’s a talent lol
I just recently discovered The Golden Balance, he has some great recipes. Plus he's a fellow Michigander. 🙂 I've been making rice pilaf (Armenian) for close to 30 years, I always have to add more liquid. Instead of 2:1, I'm more of a 2.25:1...
So if you really want to utilize saffron rub it between your fingers to release the oils and then add it to some hot water like a good 4 tablespoon and stir it around and let it sit for 2 minutes and add all that to the mix, saffron is a great aromatic but when you just throw it in like that you'll have parts that taste more saffron that the other parts and you'll get a deeper reddish yellow color
Rather than directly adding saffron, you can use saffron water, it is even better presentation wise, I think, when you have plain rice and pour that saffron coloured water over it, then the vegeatbles, cooked seperately and then the cooked meat
We call it chicken pulav at our home in India and it tastes just fabulous. I would like to give you a tip to eat this recipe with Raita that is plain curd mixed with some chopped cucumber, tomatoes and onions and some salt and as you love spicy food some chilli powder. It just doubles up the taste when used as a dip. Surely try it once 😁😁😁
Hii Lisa I recommend if u want a better experience to rice try cooking so that it doesn't become that soggy and wet and basmati basically should be long and the grain should quite sturdy make sure it doesn't easily break when u mix
Hey Lisa. The right way to use saffron is to soak it in warm milk (6-7 spoon full) for 4-5 hours. Once the dish is ready just pour it on it making sure it's in the circular motion covering the rice.
Hey can i give you a suggestion make a salad like this when u make it next time it will go good with the rice and chicken so the recipe is take yogurt mix it well make it smooth by whisking few seconds and add raw onion green chilli and salt as you want and mix everything well if u like and pinch if sugar too it will taste amazing try it and give me feedback waiting for it ❤
Grind saffron into fine powder and mix with coconut milk or warm water and add to chicken u will see great difference. This method will extract every inch of flavour and colour. Adding undiluted saffron is kinda waste.
Would you try this?
Definitely!
Maybe

Instead of paprika + liquid smoke I recommend using smoked paprika.
It makes EVERYTHING taste better!
Thanks for the tip!
I will try too 😋
Try smoke + liquid paprika. It make it taste way better.

Hey Lisa, whenever you want to add saffron to your food add it to some water/milk and drizzle it over your food almost towards the end of cooking.
It works even better with ice. grain the saffron to the powder and add it to ice as and let the ice melt. This way it will have stronger scent and color.

I wonder how much the saffron contributed to the flavor of the overall dish. Definitely trying... cant handle soggy chicken skin though lol...
Saffron doesn't contribute much to the flavour. It's mainly for colour.
Saffron is an amazing spice 😍
Beautifies skin and most probably used in cooking for aroma nd beneficial
You can pan fry the chicken at last😋😋
@@prachi1112 the right amount of saffron can take the rice to a whole another level👌
