What are good places to find brown mushrooms

This def seems like a fair trade off to slime chunk farming, but for me i like the dissociation i get from mining a chunk it's pretty relaxing

@@samwiseplaysyt485 just go mining in a huge cave, you'll occasionally see slime spawnning and just mark that chunk out

How high is your afk spot from the ground of your farm and what is your ground block? I’m having terrible spawn rates and built this is the mangrove with mushrooms. Only got about 3 stacks in an hour.
@@Dikwili should be 38 blocks up(from the floor), make sure though that its all glass!
@@markdillon8269 I’m at the same distance away and my ceiling is deep slate right now. No slabs, torches covering roof. Ground is mud since that’s how I found it. Currently trying to farm enough amethyst to replace the ceiling. I’m getting spawns, just not the rates I had hoped for.
@@Dikwili oh im sorry, im not sure what the issue could be, if youre using mushrooms maybe double check you didnt miss any, its quite easy to do.
@@markdillon8269 I’ve tripled checked and all mushroom are in place. My only thought now is to replace all the mud with whole blocks and replace the roof with tinted glass to see what’s really going on. I’ve also light up the entire surrounding area. For what it’s worth, sometimes I get a couple stacks and last night, I got not one slime after an hour or so of AFK. Something just isn’t right and I can’t seem to pinpoint what it is just yet. Thanks for your replies.
Just made it on my bedrock server and it works great, the mushrooms are a bit of a daunting task but well worth it
Literally gathered the resources for the old farm last night 😂 would very much like to see your improvements on the swamp based farms. I dabbled with this in creative when ilmango released his so it’s great to see a proper bedrock version!
i’ll put glow lichen a number of blocks above the spawn platform, on the ceiling, so that light level 1 reaches the platform, and that way i think that should give full rates without requiring mushrooms
yeah that works but youd need a much larger farm, and then you couldn't stack it or have multi layers

Java edition has a mechanic called pack spawning so just by adding a lower slab around the farm significantly increases their rate

@@DhaarmicK basically the game tries to spawn mobs at a random x y z coordinates but if theres unspawnable block it fails and the game reattempts to spawn mobs but in larger groups.
I don't know how that exactly happens but these is basically just my own assumption 😁

This works really well. If you're using an afk platform 38 blocks up, make sure your sim distance is only 4.

After some testing:
It seems slimes can spawn in block light level 1, but not 7.
As a consequence, building the farm as presented in this video, with the mushrooms, will:
- not work (or work painfully slowly) on Bedrock edition in regular swamps, where slime spawning seems to be badly botched due to a bug.
- work on Bedrock in mangrove swamps. HOWEVER, you don't even need the mushrooms in mangrove swamps in the first place, since NO MOBS BUT SLIME will spawn in mangrove swamps in any block light level, due to another bug.

This is not true at all. All mobs absolutely spawn in this biome
In mangrove swamps? Only slime can spawn there. I just tested again in 1.20.30 to confirm. In regular swamps all mobs can spawn.@@Dikwili
i had a creeper blow up on my while building this in a mangrove swamp. could he of wandered over from a biome border? yes but highly unlikely. additionally, i built it with mushrooms and without really spawn proofing much around i got what seemed like increased rates compared to what's stated in the video.@@oaretv
@@ItzRedz I have tested this over several hours. Your creeper must have walked from another biome.

@oaretv yea, maybe I had some wanderers as well. I did check the wiki, and it also said all mobs can spawn. However, this farm sucked so bad that I tore it down and went to a slime chunk. Got more from just building the slime chunk farm than several hours of AFK in the mangrove. Wish I could get that wasted time back. Not to mention farming all the amethyst crystals for the tinted glass.

Was Lucky and Found a Large Mushroom Island with Lots of Brown mushroom. Gathered 20 stacks of brown mushrooms and cleared a 5 chunk radius circle area in a Mangrove Swamp. Ready to build this thing tonight :) Thanks Silent for the epic tutorials as always.

Hey silence theres only one problem i had with your slime chunk farm and that was its huge but your world eater need a lot of slime too so when i made this farm i thought i would get a lot but i ended up getting nothing after multiple tried and repairs its even in a mangrove swamp with the brown mushrooms yet it didnt work do you know any ways to fix it?

before there was a bug which meant spawns in mangrove swamps was at they cap with slimes since other mob couldnt spawn

If you are doing a slime chunk version then a good idea is to go to chunk base and search for 4 slime chunks in a 2x2 chunk this might take a while but it is worth it

Hi Silent, I am new to your community. I just tried building this farm, but I am getting hostile mobs spawning in the farm. I tried putting some jackolanterns, as from some sources it does not affect spawning so much, but the rate dropped drastically, I am not even getting a stack of slime an hour. It feels as more slimes are being spawned outside of my farm, on the torch light than inside. Just to mention, I used deepslate blocks for ceiling, not the tempered glass. Would the use of redstone torches or glowing lychens help out, instead of brown much rooms?
I built it on Java, my personal server on Paper 1.20
its gotta be built as shown. you cant have any other light sources in there, only mushrooms or lichen. make sure every spot has a muchroom or the lichen layout is exactly as shown so everything in the farm is light level 1 or above. use f3 to find if there is any light level 0

It does work on bedrock ps5. Just be sure to light up the area around and have simulating distance 4 chunks. I got 2 stacks in 10min. And i biuld in mengrow swamp. I also recommend to put the diffuculty on hard

If u are in Java u can replace the magma cube kill chamber with a nether portal,u will build a chunkloader(there is so many tutorials online)and cover 1 part of the portal in the nether,in the other side u can build a hole who go down for many blocks(best 23)and place magma.

Dont use glow lichen. I made a slime farm using it. The rates were terrible. Tho i admit i did not completely understood the mechanics of it while making the farm then.
As for the spawning, the light level needs to be below 7. So u can use redstone torches i think too. It has got light level less than of lichen

Works in 1.20.51 realm if anyone was wondering. Had to tunnel in nether cause 8k blocks away from a mangrove swamp, used netherack for floor works fine. Start with glow lichen. Bring some materials to make a cheap mushroom farm and a stack of bone blocks to break to bone meal was more than plenty. Build the mushroom farm at afk platform, one minecraft day i had enogh mushrooms to fill farm. Now i have enough slime for the new tree farm that was released this week!
Edit: make a water stream to a bubble elevator. Build the elevator about 5 blocks above afk y level and drop it down to a few double chests/shulkers, where you can access it from your afk spot. Now you have no reason to go anywhere but the afk spot. Slap a nether portal on afk y level and you're good. Also at afk spot put an item frame and clock. So you know which moon it is. (Moon wasn't showing in that biome for me)
I don't think the slimes spawn in day with lichens. When I put brown mushrooms they started spawning in day. First hour test (brown mushrooms no slabs on roof (frogs were spawning) 16 stacks of slime blocks plus 3 or 1027 slime balls. Which is 114 blocks of slime plus one. The first 30 minutes was 620 slimes. The second half of the hour wasn't too good. Rng is wierd. I built this to make multiple layers but don't see the need. Way easier than carving chunks
This works fine, if you are willing to spend the time to understand the mechanics and troubleshoot it to make the farm the best it can be. Just wanna share my findings from doing that. Bedrock players, 100% go for the snow golem from the start, forget the iron golem. I didnt understand why until I did it. I thought it would stop the patrols from spawning but it doesnt. However, they will only pay attention to the iron golem and break your farm by killing the iron golem. With the snow golem, they will still spawn but they dont care about the snow golem and within a few mins will automatically despawn. For increased slime rates, even in normal swamp biomes, put the glow liken (sp?) On the ceiling instead of the floor, this will lower the light level by the time it gets to the ground. You may have to adjust the positioning of them though or add a few more. Cause this will cause small areas of the farm to have 0 light level if you are not careful. When you make your afk spot. Make it out of glass and the top of the farm out of tinted glass. This way you can spend a few mins and watch the farm before you afk to make sure it's working fine. After troubleshooting everything. A rl night of afking had no problem filling a double chest.
The problem I find with some of these negitive comments saying this farm sucks, is I bet they expect all tutorials to work 100% of the time, even if you build it block by block. It's not always gonna be the case. It doesn't necessarily make a farm bad, if you need to do a few adjustments on it. Some people are just lazy.
my iron golem doesnt fit in the fences what do i do as a solution? could i just use a snow man since im on bedrock?
Built a whole farm before discovering it doesn't work for bedrock. I'm going to have to tear it down and start over with this one, but I'm hopeful that it'll work!!

I recently saw the same farm for java but that one includes portals and the slimes go to your afk zone where you can kill them using a sword with looting which increases the amount of slime you can get. It is possible to modify this farm with portals? Or does this only work in java edition?
That only works in Java. In Bedrock the other side of the portal will only load if a player goes through so the mobs will not come back to the overworld unless you have a player afk in both the nether and the overworld.

I don't think I have found a mangrove swamp yet even after significant exploration. If I didn't have a regular slime farm I would definitely be hopping on chunkbase

I just built this farm in my 1.20 world - and just after finishing a very crude afk spot, and afk'ing for a few minutes a patrol spawned in.. Flew far enough away for them to despawn - and came back to almost 5 stacks of slimeballs... \m/O_o\m/
Just a quick question though - would it be useful to pop some trapdoors to cover the golems head so patrols can't hit him??, or would that make the slimes ignore it??
Just tried it, and the bigger slimes don't fall down.. =)
Maybe extend the killing floor by 1 block all around and try that - I'll let you know if it works ;)

Ok the trapdoors caused the slimes to ignore the golem - so I tried with glassblocks instead, and that worked.. (Hadn't replaced the fences at this point, so ofc it worked :p )..
I'll try with glasspanes instead though - and also replace the fence posts with panes. Then any patrols can't hit it anyway ;)
Fully enclosed in glasspanes = slimes ignoring the golem.. Better mess with it another day =)

I’d probably use soul campfires and hoppers underneath for higher efficiency
those emit light and would prevent slimes from spawning in certain spots and reduce rates in other spots
I may have found a glitch in bedrock edition, place a double chest put your cursor in the middle, and you can access a chest behind it.
1.20.4 java edition when 121 blocks up doesnt work am i too high?
You don't really want that much slime but still cool to bulid better version that give you more slime in swamp biome
My industrial district doesn't have a slime chunk in it but it's in a swamp right next to my witch hut
