- Опубликовано: 3 июн 2024
- In this video I show you how to build my Slime Farm for Minecraft 1.20 and up. This farm is fully automatic and super easy to build. This design requires almost no digging too! This farm works off of the new Minecraft 1.18+ mob spawning mechanics requiring hostile mobs to have full darkness to spawn, whereas slime do not. This farm was designed for Minecraft Java edition but will work on Minecraft Bedrock Edition too!

Happy thanksgiving friends!! im super thankful for all of you & i hope your day is the best!
Happy Thanksgiving
I smelted a Raw Chicken today to celebrate
British lad celebrates turkey day? 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 🤔 hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Turkey or ham? I prefer pork. Lol
Happy Thanksgiving!
Great farm, worked a charm. For a single module I found placing my afk platform 115 blocks above the roof of the farm, and setting my render/simulation distance to 8, removed the need for doing any work to the surrounding area. Got a full single chest of slimes in about 30 minutes of AFKing.
I just used your advice and now its working so much better, thank you so much
Your entity render distance or normal?
@@theevilpleb9719entity i assume, i dont see why render would make a difference
@@ignDart regular render distance not entity
entity render distance just stops the entites from being rendered (they are still processed)
to stop them from even being processed the regular render/simulation distance needs to be reduced
Wattles! If you don't like the idea of accessing the chest underground at all you can make the hopper line go into a dropper with a repeating signal and have it dispense into a bubble column where it is then collected by a hopper and chest at the desired elevation 😁
Or a minecart with a hopper going in and out
what? no bouncing it into the Nether???
@@EL70CINE yeah so i used to use this but the hoppers stop when you leave the chunk so its incredibly inefficient, ive found that a water stream is sm better, dispenser powered by a redstone clock shoots the items, place water down a single lane then place signs and ice so it keeps going however long you need end on a hopper!
I find it easier and faster to just use flint and steel to burn the trees versus cutting them down. This build has a chest/hopper system that is underground. You could use ice and water to slide the items away from the dropper/dispenser if you don't do anything to heat and melt the ice. I used this type of transport system once several years ago to avoid rebuilding a system that would otherwise require me to recreate everything a few Y coordinates lower, and I'm assuming it still works. What I hate about so many tutorials from Wattles and others is they are built in a perfect environment, and one tiny thing can go wrong and break the entire villager farm, and there's no information on troubleshooting, and the work becomes a waste.
Thanks for this farm.
thank you!! 💞💞
With just one module, not lighting up the surrounding area or clearing any trees I got a over a row of slime balls in just 20 minutes. Slime farms have always screwed me over so thank you for making a simple and effective one. (1.19.3)
Edit: the farm stops working if you go to sleep on the afk platform. If this happens just unload the chunk and save and quit to title. After this it should work as new after about a minute or so
I found the perfect location for this in my Realm (very landless swamp, so very concentrated spawns) and it works perfectly! Thank you!
YES I needed this so bad, TY! I look forward to your videos everyday!
actually might use this, thank you wattles 🙏
fire upload as always
Great farm, cheap, easy build and still works a treat, really adaptable if u dont have the exact materials. Keep those tutorials coming
Your tutorial is really easy to follow for a newbie like me! Thanks for that
thank you!! I’m glad :)
I have a bubble elevator up to the build height limit and a tunnel underground that goes to bedrock. I plan to get a bunch of slime blocks to fill in the bottom of the tunnel and have a crazy fun trampoline. And breed frogs! Thanks for the tutorial!!
9:11
By adding candles, it looks like a ritual set by a witch😂 love it
Hi wattles! You are amazing 👏, thank you for your videos!
Found redstone torches works great to light the area instead of the candles as I had no string and 119 blocks up for the AFK point. Nice and easy!
such a lifesaver for big redstone builds, and very easy to follow, thank you for sharing!!
if you go the right height above spawning platform, only it will be active - you don't need to place lights
If you're on a server, you will probably need to try putting the afk spot higher, considering settings can change on every server
Also, cover the roof with water to avoid slimes spawning on top (or build the spawn slime area at y 68, so the roof will be naturally slime spawn proof
Cant you also use torches instead of water
Brilliant farm works very well very easy to follow tutorial not the best drops but for what it is it’s extremely good 10/10 ( I put trap doors closed on the trap part at the top to help)
tysm!!! first slime farm i've ever gotten all the way through
This is so great, thank you soo much 🙃
love your tutorials, they are so easy to follow
Prob the best and most simple slime farm I have seen. You have outdone yourself wattles!
thank ya!!
Just built in under 1.20.4. Used redstone torches in the candle locations. Built the AFK platform at 115 above the roof as advised in another comment. AFK’d for just over three hours and it filled a double chest and was backed up along the hopper line out.
thats good to know, havent been able to find a good enough slime farm recently.
i made this and it works flawless, clearing up the trees around the area and lighting it up made a huge difference
Perfect timing my good Sir. I needed one of these.
This is so helpful, thanks.
Another simple way to increase the rates is to set your game difficulty to hard so that you get more large slime spawns.
Thanks
I need this thank you so much!!!
You've made every farm I need.
running decent on my world, thanks ! i recommend to remove land instead of lighting it tho
thanks for the tutorial. It works great
Been building an epic build for a while… happens to be in a slim chunk. Got some golems and frogs running around killing them all lol so much slime
Worked fantastic, thanks!
thank you 💞
I was just looking for a slime farm tutorial and stumbled onto this; coincidence, I think not
Also could you make a tutorial for a mob grinder or creeper farm, it would be greatly appreciated. Love your vids keep up the good work
He actually has one for a creeper farm in his playlist. He might have one for a mob grinder as well, but I haven't checked.
ive got a creeper one in my mob farm playlist!! i can make a mob grinder one too :)
@@wattlesplays i actually found the creeper farm a few hours later🤣🤣 but a mob grinder tutorial will be really helpful
this is so easy i might end up building this also happy thanksgiving
you don't need 14 hoppers, you can just make a water path into a hopper
Plop!
Giving this a test now. ^.^ will update once i see how it goes.
Update: somehow lost a couple candles and iron golem got killed by a skeleton, and i apparently cant count and was afking at 70. Once i fixed both of those, rates are awesome. Thank you!
Slick design! I really like it!
thank ya!!
for anyone struggling with their farm not producing any slimes. I found the best thing that worked was adjusting my height of the afk platform. Went from getting like 4 slimes a minecraft day to getting 3 stacks in just one minecraft night.
to what y level?
What y level, tell us!
@@usipussi6647 saw another comment and they said to build 115 above roof of farm, I did this and the farm seems to be working really well
Edit I was on a server however so the rates may not increase for you
@@null6554read the other comment I made
great design but i used glow lichen instead of candles works just as great
this farm is actually insane, i made 1 module, and the afk platform 115 blocks above the roof, and got like 6 stacks of slime balls in 5 minutes
Plop 😊 also i just built this farm, thank you! It works grat, i made 4 together
This is probably the simplest slime farm I have ever seen
its so easy!
Does it work on bedrock
@@mazenahmad8658 Yes it does, check the description
So it would seem..
@@dragolectron9351 Have a like for that reference.
Still works though I couldn't get it to work with the exact candle placement so I just popped some brown mushrooms not fully in the tile space and it works.
it works nice thanks
Just built in 1.20.4, I would recommend using Redstone torches to replace candles and moving spawning platform up 115 blocks from the roof of the farm.
So simple, thank you! I'm about to build a world eater so perfect timing 😀. Are the spawn rates less on a new moon? Does the current phase of the moon affect the rates during day time?
yes and no
can you use torches or other blocks that produce light instead of candles?
good for begginers, wouldnt recommend for the more advanced players, candles themselves and the massive collection system greatly reduce the spawnable area, aswell as the higher light level that will also create areas of lowered spawn rates.
you might be right, but for my first survival game in hardcore this farm was just amazing.
thank you so much i really needed it, my server doent have a single slime ball 😂
1.20.2 i just built the farm if your using 1 farm 115 blocks above the roof is best spot to sit watering the box is also brilliant to do also this farm is possible to make into a looting sword farm with bubble columns 10/10
Thanks for the farm, but next time can you add how much rates one module produces per hour pls?
Can’t wait for another survival episode
You’re voice is so calming I always want to sleep right after watching a video 😅😅😅
Ty for this
works great just need some sticky pistons so its perfect
Very nice farm. The only detail I did not understand is why the AFK platform is only 80 blocks up. Shouldn't it be around 120ish so the 128 bubble around the player only concentrates on the farm itself?
you can do that, or just lower render distance
Maybe he said only 80 so in case you expand the farm all the modules still work, but yeah, if you are doing 1 module only, 120 blocks is probably fine. This way, you don't have yo light up the area around or the caves underneath
I've tested it myself and 116 blocks is the perfect amount. Leaves a couple blocks of dirt under the farm, and you can easly light up the upper space (i'd say around 15 block per side around th efarm) so it works at nigtht aswell.
For everyone building this farm. I will say it works amazing! After about 5 mins I got about a stack and some. But if you are building this I have one minor tweak. The lava doesn't kill the big slime and the aren't 100% on the magma blocks so they wont die from that. The solution I have come up with is adding an extra row of magma blocks around the pre-existing ones.
probably you dont oppened the fence gate
There is a small problem in the spawner the candle shaving is to far apart that skeletons can spawn in a few blocks. I recommend amending this farm build
Will slime still spawn on the outside area even if there are torches at night? or do i have to remove all of the land
Don't need a slim farm but watching the wattles video because wattles video
I love these vids
yea wattles you know your garding farm u made will it work in 1.19 also if so can u do a tutorial on it to please
Does this have to be in a swamp or can i build it somewhere else because i dont have any swamps nearby.
A recent uodate this farm still works amazing 7 months later
Hey man, my farm doesnt spawn mobs at all with the candles. They're all the correct amounts of candles, and it has nothing to do with my render distance. It only works without candles obv but my iron golem dies. Could you send a pic or tell me the Y level of your slime spawning area and the height of your AFK platform?
@@xojayce584I AFK 115 blocks above the roof of the farm I didn't mess with my render/simulation distance some comments say to turn both to 6 chunks so maybe try that and I built my farm on y level 63 I took every extra step like removing the layer of dirt all around the farm so it's just water I slightly lit up larger areas and removed all the trees if there was land under them
Is it necessary to build this in a slime chunk? Or is it enough to build it in a swamp?
ty so much
this could work with slime chunks right?
This actually is a really simple slime farm. Once I get my phone fixed, I'll try this in Bedrock edition. Will update when it really works.
Did it work?
@@nach0699 I haven't done it already, my phone's getting bonkers nowadays. I'm still gathering materials though. will update if it works on Bedrock.
@@cleryfrey did it work for you
@@lightningshock4378 it didn't. sadly, I tried.
@@cleryfrey yeah i managed to fix it, if you just afk 25-30 blocks above it’ll work
This video makes me wana play Minecraft again.
dooo it!
@@wattlesplays It's still school days😂. Maybe on vacation, I'll have more time playing.
Hi there, is there any reason why no slimes are spawning inside the farm theyre spawning outside lol. ty
Hi wattles! Happy Thanksgiving!
happy thanksgiving!!
The AFK platform will need to be adjusted on Bedrock edition.
Spawn max range/automatic despawn range is based on your simulation distance.
if you use a simulation distance of 4, mobs will not spawn and will automatically dispawn at a distance of 44, so you you are 80 block in the air you will not get any slimes to spawn.
the distance is euclidean (so not as easy as count x block to the side and y block up)
I find that Ideally you will want your afk spot to be just under the automatic despawn distance to the furthest block in your farm, that way you get a much lower chance that things will spawn under your farm.
brilliant addition
So if I use a simulation distance of 10 how high should I go up? I noticed I got 0 spawns after waiting a whole hour.
I also did the optional stuff beforehand 💀
@@no_u_420 I would refer you to the minecraft wiki on fandom and the Simulation Distance page for a good amount of details
but I will try to quickly answer your questions
it is also good to make sure that you where not waiting during a new moon (no slimes will spawn during a new moon), but it would not be a new moon for a whole hour.
With a Simulation distance of 8 -12, spawning range is 24-128, with random despawns between range 34-128 (should not despawn if damaged within the last 30 seconds, and instant despawn at range greater than 128 (or in a chuck on the edge of the simulation distance, this should not be an issue since you are AFKing up and not to the side)
Throwing some numbers into a euclidean distance calculator, being "centered" (8 block from the north and east of the chunk) at a height of 127 (if you are standing on y 64 for the spawning platform, you would stand on y 191 for you AFK spot)
you could lower that a few block and not affect your spawn rates too much.
example
theoretical slime chunk is from x=0 to x=15, z=0 to z= 15
your spawning platform (0,64,0) to (15,64,15)
your AFK spot (8,191,8)
The problem with having it only 80ish blocks above the spawning plaform like wattles did, with a simulation distance of 10, you have 47ish block below, and out to 90ish block to the side of the far corners of you spawn platform that can spawn mobs.
If there is a cave below that you don't light up as well as the surface within a 99ish block Radius of the center of your spawn platform, hostile spawns could and hang around and drop your slime spawn rates.
Fortunately you don't have to worry about filling or lighting up any deeper water areas, since drowned do not spawn in Swamps, If you are close to a river or ocean, then you would have to address those water area.
while I was setting a different slime farm myself (basically a cleared spawning platform, no auto killing) I found it helpful to cycle between peaceful and what ever game difficulty I wanted the slimes to spawn at. cycling through peacefull will automatically despawn all hostile mobs, and then when you go back to easy/normal/hard, there will be no mobs hold your mob cap, NOT recommended if you have a pet hostile mob, say a zombie you use to turn your villagers to improve your trades.
Sorry I got a bit long winded, but I hope that helps
Do yk how high up I should be for sim 4? I used an addon to tell me where mobs spawn, I put the afk platform in correct area but they still aren’t spawning.
@@joe-cm4lz if you’re on bedrock don’t even bother, I’ve done extensive testing and this farm straight sucks on bedrock edition.
Regardless of moon phase, afk spot or simulation distance you’ll only get like 5 slime balls every 10 minutes.
It really needs to be updated in the video so bedrock players like myself don’t need to waste time on pointless builds.
lol i buildet yesterday your 1.16 slime farm this is perfect timing 😂😂😂
ayy nice but also f in the chat because this is easier!
I love how this single block is responsible for tnt bombers in mc
Can we use torch instead of candles?
seems alot easier than going out in the ocean and finding a slime square to make a farm in
Going to build and see recommendation
Best slime farm is sneezing pandas
10/10 adorable
@@wattlesplays does this work in 1.16?
@@nilamkarmakar5935 as long as there are sneezing pandas, then it would work
@@wattlesplays its not working man its in bedrock and its not working for some reason
Tru bro
what obout the caves, do we need to light them
will a chunkloader work with this farm if i build the loader 80 blocks up?
When you say that you have to be 80 blocks high, can you also be 80 blocks away horizontally?
This design is stackable, with the first layer at Y-51 7th layer at Y-69, and 5 iron golems stacked over the same kill chamber. this farm is insanely good.
What are the rates for this farm, how many slimballs per hour do you get? Is it more or less than building the traditional big hole in the ground farm?
if you tile this equal to the amount of platforms that you’d build underground id say its about the same. the plus of this one is no need for slime chunks or big digging operations!
@@wattlesplays awesome, I'm currently digging out two slime chunks right now and was wondering if it would be better to just build your design, I'll think I'll go with your since it's so simple, thanks 😊
@@wattlesplays Since the rates will be drastically reduced if you have a mob farm nearby, can you build it far away and AFK with a chunk loader and have both farms running at the same time?
In other words, does the mob cap apply to just a 128 block radius, or to all loaded chunks?
@@wattlesplays but what is the exact rate of slime balls
@@octopuszombie8744 I assume all loaded chunks but I am not certain; I am basing this assumption off of the fact farms built at spawn are always running.
Skeletons and creepers still spawn inside the farm with this candle set up (1.19.3). Not sure if it's bugged or if something needs to be fixed. Possible fix is getting all block light as close to 6 as possible.
Did you light up the candles though
The last one slime chunk farm is op i have done it in my realm
If you dont have honeycombs to make candles you can use redstone torches instead
all use it because the rates when i tested it were amazing
will definitely be using this in the future.....
shouldn't a thanksgiving episode been about Chickens though? like how to make chicken farms?? ;)
good point 😳
the best slime farm!
plop! what is the method using mushrooms? never heard of that one
check out ilmango on youtube! its another great method
hi, new to mc. Do you need to be in slime chunk or just swamp? :)
just finishied building it, you dont need to be in a chunk, i built it in just a swamp and it works perfectly well
bro is it can we make in every where place or just on
frog swamp
Does it have to be in a swamp biome?
Could you make a bedrock village breeder tutorial?
Check Silent whispers design, his is the best villager hall/breeder design on bedrock
If you're farm wont work, try too look under the farm, ther could be a cave under it, if that is the case light it up with torches!
I LITERALLY SPENT ALL OF YESTERDAY DIGGING OUT HALF A CHUNK TO MAKE A SLIME FARM AND NOW YOU RELEASE THIS 🙂 i see how it is watty 😞😔😕☹️
SORRY
Will it work if I put thorces on the roof. Because a lot of mobs spawn on the roof during night
For bedrock I did the afk platform 27 blocks above the farm and that seems to work, Im doing it in a realm with simulation distance 4. Built farm exactly as shown in video, only produced 8 slime balls so far seems like it does 1 per min.
Overall not very efficient for bedrock at least I recommend looking for a different farm more efficient one (again, for bedrock).
is this applicable to any biome's slime chunk or like particular biome's slime chunk?
i need to kno too
