I have no doubt that the reason you got the job was not just drumming ability but your general approach to it and demeanour.
Your humbleness and appreciation of the sheer volume of experience around you and your desire to learn from it should be a 101 lesson for any aspiring musician.
Also, it is rare for me to want to watch 15 minutes of someone talking about themselves, but I was delighted to watch this because you were so humble, and so open and honest and absolutely zero ego. So I have subbed in case you happen to vlog again. In the meantime, have a great break and holiday.

Agree 100% A solid down to earth drummer is a good drummer. Look at Phil Rudd. It's all about holding that perfect beat. Everything I've seen on Elia is on point. The infectious way she approaches it is fantastic.

Thank you for V-logging and telling your story. You are inspiring! I've been drumming for 40 years now and my dream was always to make it to the arena level and feel the energy of a crowd of this capacity. Biggest crowd I ever played was 10,000 and that was amazing but you've done it at the beginning of your life. Wow, 19 years old when you auditioned and you got it. That's so amazing. I can envision that first show and being so nervous to even sit behind the kit and hit that first note but you did it successfully and got the thumbs up from Shania. I can just picture that. Thank you for being you and showing the world that females can rock behind the kit on a professional level. You now have a new fan. Take care.

Elia hasn't played for Twain since September of 2022. Twain's entire band is no longer there. Elia has a side business and currently not on tour. If Rush had thought to reform, Elia would have been my first pick. Her Outta Here video cements that opinion. Utilizes the same outside dual crash cymbal attack Peart used. While Teddy Lamson had improved, every Twain song had to be dumbed down as the skill set just isn't there.

You are currently one of the drummers I study when it comes to technique and stage presence. I've been drumming for 30+ years and still can't stand to watch myself play. I hope to come away with just a little slice of the presence, joy and movement that appears to come very naturally to you. This vlog, btw, was really good. If people think what you're doing is simple just because of the time signature, they have a thing or two yet to learn. I'm glad to hear the humble appreciation from you regarding this gig. It really is a once in a lifetime thing for most.

I won’t lie, I almost never post on these things…but in this case I feel I must. You are an absolutely phenomenal musician. Hands down, without debate. But I wanted to comment more on the amazing person behind this vlog. Words like humble, and thoughtful come to mind, yet I don’t feel they do you any justice. There is a genuine, honest, brave, and super sweet person behind that rockin exterior. I really like your music but I am a super fan of you as a person. Im not sure married 40 year olds with PhDs in religion are your typical musical or personal fan base, but you definitely have both me and my wife over. Keep doing you, and everyone will keep loving it!

Some people are molded, formed even for what you do. It's not for everyone. You obviously were meant for this! The amount of dedication that tour musicians put into the music is remarkable. Unless you do it, you'll never know. I'm a drummer and primarily a guitar player in a regional band. I did about 80 shows a year between March and November for 6 years. I get it. I've been watching your videos from the sidelines and have always loved your glow as a person and your tenacity as a musician. Great stuff! Glad to see your excitement and how humble you are. You are great at this by the way and will inspire a large amount of people, especially girls, to follow their dreams. That is one of the main reasons you got where you are. Congratulations!

Your attitude during the tryout process was superb!! Very impressive. Musicians want to play with other cool musicians that are pleasant to be around. That’s obviously you. Love the video!

Thanks for sharing Elijah, your one of my favorite drummers. It was interesting to hear about your injurie and how you manage it. I have some leg and knee issue who give some limitations who have made me thinking if starting up again with drumming is a waste but i decided to go for it and are currently setting up a simple home studio for my drumming. Looking forward to more vlogs.

Thank you, Elia, for sharing. One of the things I really like is you playing the drums and having a great time doing it while sharing the experience with the audience. Way cool!

Elijah, brilliant vlog! As a drummer and Shania fan when i went to see her in Birmingham UK I was not expecting an amazing drummer. The first thing I did when I got home was found you. You are amazing and this vlog is brilliant.
I wonder if you could include more about your personal journey through life and potential challenges you have had along the way.

Elia - this is an amazing vlog - a mentor journey story that is grounded, humble, real and from your heart!!! The opportunity that you have been given (and worked hard at) and never took it for granted and still don't!!! Your character and attitude shine through and this would most definitely resonate with Shania (E) as a woman to woman - supporting women but beyond this, a break that is few and far between especially for women - E saw right through that... to your heart and natural gifted talent (to further develop and build on) and that my dear is priceless in women leadership!!! You are amazing and play from a place deep in your soul - educating yourself on self-care as well and sharing this is so important for those who wish to follow or dream of one day playing in a band and tour of Shania's scale - Keep being you and sharing you cause this journey thus far from 19 to 25 is so inspiring for those aspiring!!! Well Done!!! Keep up the great work!!!
