    My father also had the 141(V8) model, he was an international truck driver, I always made the first start when I was little. I liked the smell of smoke coming from the exhaust..My father died in 2010 and I miss him so much..

      ALL Scania engines of this era (mid sixties up to.... now??) are TOP quality.... but the V8 is the nicest....

    SCANIA 142 log truck was the first western car that I got to know after Gaz, Kamaz and zil trucks. Volvo F12 was also seen, but Scania was the first to sit in the cabin. And left an indelible impression on how such a truck should look, sound and drive.

    i may be from the United States but damn those scania v8s from that era sound absolutely top notch they sound very familiar to a catapillar 3408 with a similar idle and overall engine revs

    I drove this truck seven years and about six hundred thousand kilometres..Well,mine was six cylinder with 360 horses..Changed just oil,tyres and belts..Always started imidiatelly I never doubt a second ,that it will start as well again!!!

    I'm 60 now lost licence due to health probs,I spent many years running to Stranraer in these fantastic motors ,just the sound gives me goose bumps and great memories of the a75 old road ,thru Dumfries ,gate house of fleet ,glenluce bridge stopped a few !!!. Crazy times at 70 + miles an hour with inches between you and the oncoming trucks,it sorted the drivers from the screw drivers , best wishes to all the old boys ,first one to the moss cafe wins 50 quid ha hah

    Der beste LKW der jemals gebaut wurde. Ich fuhr dieses Fahrzeug über 2 Millionen km ohne Reparaturen. Er hätte sicher die gleiche Strecke nochmal ohne Probleme hingelegt. Ich musste mich wegen den verrückten Abgasnormen von ihm trennen. Mir tut das Herz weh, wenn ich an ihn denke. Ich konnte mich immer auf ihn verlassen. Mit den heutigen Fahrzeugen ist das undenkbar. Egal welche Marke.

    Impressive the fact of starting the engine in such a sort time as well the air pressure level.... although it is so many years out of service the air pressure reached 9 bars

    the 142 v8 was a drivers dream back when you had to change gears and use the clutch loved the trailer brake handle myself saved me a few times that scania will always be the best tool on the road

      Trailer brake is good when you are in a tight spot and you can stop trailer wheels when reversing

    It seems from videos I've seen that most vehicles, cars and trucks, if they've been sitting for five years or less, it's not hard to get them started. As with the truck in this video. I agree that the sound of the V8 diesel engine of the truck in this video is beautiful.

    All V-8s sounded great:. Ran heavy equipment; 3408 , 8V-71 Detroit and my favourite is the E9-500 Mack. All were powerhouses

      Aqui, na Argentina, um dos caminhões mais queridos é o Mercedes-Benz MB-1114 e o Scania 112/114H. O MB 1114 também foi amplamente utilizado como ônibus de passageiros.

      I have several uncles who are loggers here in the USA. They have trucks 🚚 much larger than this one. Here in Upper Michigan they can gross out to 180,000 pounds 😮😊

    The truck simply still it works! even after so long, it still works. Flexiny simply got in, started the engine and was on his way. Not considering the problems with the exchange rate, of course.
