I would read the manufacturer’s instructions, but I don’t personally think there’s any safety risk. The ink doesn’t come off of the towel, and you can wash and dry it after waiting for it to set. I use the towels more for decoration.
Love this tutorial. The step by step is great! Thanks for the links as well. Ill be making about 20 tea towels for Christmas and now feel confident they will come out wonderful!!
No problem. There are no dumb questions. You need to cut out the image because otherwise, you’ll transfer all the white parts of the paper onto your material. It’s not like sublimation where it only transfers the ink. Hope this helps!
I personally wouldn’t wash them again before gifting because I imagine they might want to wash them whenever they plan to use them. You might want to include the instructions for washing them with your gift, though. They definitely shouldn’t iron directly on top of the design. Enjoy!
@@FirstDayofHome thank you for your quick response. Making them today and giving for Christmas. I did hand written recipes 😍. Your video was super helpful💕
I just bought them at Hobby Lobby I think. They were in the craft section. I think I linked similar ones above in the description box under the video, but I’m not sure.
I use mine mainly as decorative towels, but I’ve laundered them several times. They’ve held up pretty well! I’d wash them on a delicate cycle and either hang them to dry or tumble dry low.
It is a special photo transfer paper. It’s slightly different than sublimation. I have it linked in the description box if you want to take a look: amzn.to/3MXDuUU
@@FirstDayofHome thank you so much! Do you think This would work on larger towels ?? It’s my daughters birthday and I’m trying to write something on them
How sweet! I think as long as the fabric is fairly smooth, it should work. I don’t think it would work well on terry cloth. It works for shirts and tote bags too. There’s more info in the product description of fabric types.

I mean is the ink that transfers to the towel safe to use for wiping dishes, etc. Thanks

Such a fun project! The buffalo check ribbon is perfect! Thanks Crissy!
Thanks so much, Cindy! I appreciate you stopping by! ❤️
Your tea towels turned out perfect for fall. Happy Fall, Kippi
Thanks so much, Kippi!
Stupid question but why do I have to cut the image out...can't I just iron the image on while on the sheet of transfer paper??

Thank you. Should I was them again before giving as gifts?

Can’t wait to try these! Thank you!
I’m so glad you’re giving it a try. Have fun!
which towel brand(s) do you use?
I just bought them at Hobby Lobby I think. They were in the craft section. I think I linked similar ones above in the description box under the video, but I’m not sure.
How do these hold up after washing?
I use mine mainly as decorative towels, but I’ve laundered them several times. They’ve held up pretty well! I’d wash them on a delicate cycle and either hang them to dry or tumble dry low.
They are so cute!!!
Thanks so much, Linda! I’m enjoying them in my kitchen. 😊
Is the transfer safe?
I’m not sure what aspect of it you’re asking about. It’s a product sold in craft stores that does not require special safety gear.
This is perfect. Thanks for sharing it
I’m glad it was helpful. Thanks, Kebaya!
is that sublimation paper?

What’s the paper I can find the link ?
If you click "show more" under the description, it has the product links. Here's the link to everything you need, including the paper: amzn.to/3lxZadv
