The Kubelwagen was my very first Tamiya kit that I built way back in 1968 or 1969!! I always go thru the Op Shops here, but I've never come across ANY model kits, in the box or otherwise. Great find Pete!!
Damn. I though I was the only old person round here 😅 Always loved the Kubelwagen one of my Tamiya favourites. It is rare to find models kits in Op shops, but I think that's because the workers get to them first, like my brother. He sees them every now and then, and always adds them to his stash, even though he hasn't built anything for years. That's why finding these two was super lucky. I think they thought the "Falcon" was a toy rather than a model. The Gods were on my side for that one. Keep looking mate. Your time will come! Cheers!
Thanks. They are a rarity. That's why I thought I'd share these, as finding one kit is pure luck, but finding these two kits....think I may have used up all my luck for the next decade! Cheers!
Lovely kits Pete but an even nicer copy of the art of war! It was part of the obligatory litterature in business school and he has helped me overcome the struggle of keeping up with the dishes among other things. Its fantastic how thousand years old reflections about the nature of war can be applied on every aspect of human life. Beautiful copy and a great piece of litterature.

Agreed. I find part of the enjoyment of our hobby, is finding successful ways to overcome those challenges put forth by some "less than perfectly designed" kits....😉
Some great finds Pete. I'm always nosing around in charity shops and the only models I've ever seen are Airfix 1/72 Spitfires but I don't do "things with wings".
Thanks mate. Yeah, I don't do Star Wars stuff. Enjoy the movies, but the kits just don't do it for me, although I don't mind some other Sci Fi stuff. But that Millenium Falcon was too good to pass. I've got 8 charity shops within 8km of home, so guess I have a new "interest". Cheers!
@@PetesKits I'm more of a Trekkie but I'd have bought the MF too. I was in a charity shop a few years ago and a someone brought in half a dozen kits of Babylon 5 spaceships. I was hoping to get a look at them but one of the women that worked there announced to the other staff member that she was going to have them for her grandson. Likely story as this lady didn't really look old enough to have a grandson over the age of about five, I'll bet she put them on ebay when she got home. I know nothing about Babylon 5 as I've never watched it but if those kits had been put up for sale they would have been leaving with me.
@@martinoconnor4314 Yep. Bet you're right there. They would have gone straight on Ebay. I would have scooped them up like you would have, even though, like you, I know next to zero about Babylon 5. Watched it when it first aired, way back when, but never took to it. Now Star Trek....every episode from the beginning, at least 3 times. "Trouble with Tribbles" is still one of my fav's. But, you never know. You just got to be in the right place at the right time... Cheers mate!
@@PetesKits I've never seen a single episode of Babylon 5 but Star Trek TOS is just about on full time repeat on UK tv but I'll still watch it when I get the chance.
@@martinoconnor4314 Star Trek TOS comes on every now and then, down here in Oz. Usually in the wee small hours, or early mornings, especially on weekends. Like you, still catch it when I can!

Excellent find!. I don't think I've ever even seen a kit at an Op Shop! Nice vid.

Thanks. Yes, The Art of War is one of those books that seems to always be relevant in some way, no matter what the task.
Great show and tell mate , a little jealous 🇦🇺👍🏻
Must admit, it's been a while since I scored like this. finding these 3 bargains probably used up my "luck" for the next few years ... Cheers mate!
$2 awesome!!😮💯 good decision i wouldn't make it either definitely a collectable now
Oh yeah. And now I have a new "bad habit". Checking out every charity shop I pass....😉Cheers!
