I remember watching this at school along with look & read picture box words & pictures also stop look & listen brings back some nice memories

I sing this theme song out of the blue on a daily basis. Suddenly I'm back in primary school, cross legged and watching the TV high up on the trolley. Wouldn't have missed it for the world, best time to grow up.

I concur with your first sentence . I'm not sure why I haven't youtube the theme prior to new (as I have for every other nostalgic show from childhood) I guess I've randomly sung it once too often not to search for it :)

RIP Keith and Lis, and also Andrew Burt, who sometimes presented this, they were all brilliant. Amazing to see this again, I remember that theme song.
One afternoon almost forty years ago I was watching this show with a younger cousin. I think I was about 6 and he was about 4. A few minutes afterwards we were eating sandwiches at the kitchen table. He took alternative bites out of his sandwich at ninety degrees so that the sandwich vaguely resembled a staircase. He then proudly held up the staircase-shaped sandwich and declared: "Look - stepping stones!"

i have a really old faded audio tape of this that i recorded off the tv, so nice to see it again. I had no idea that Keith Barron or Liz Sladen were the presenters being a kid at the time. would be nice if some full episodes could be found. hope they weren't wiped.

Thanks for this, I just couldn't remember but funny enough, now I think I do. When we look so far back, what we think it was and what it really was is sometimes very different. Wish I was small again. Much appreciated!!!.

I remember seeing Stepping Stones in about 1983-84 and I think it would have been a repeated by then. I remember Vicky Ireland being the presenter at that point and she had a sock puppet called Stiggy. I can't remember what animal Stiggy was supposed to be
