    • @novriltataki
      @novriltataki  3 года назад +13

      @@t.r.c8306 From the little I know, and this is just for pure execution:
      I-No: 5K JI HCL 6FRC6 is very hard and important for her combos. There's a big damage gap between using FB Sultry Performance in a compromise combo, and doing this.
      Chipp: Instant air alpha blade relaunches are hard pretty important for his corner mixup converts. Combos are char specific and tight. If you screw up the beta blade FRC you get punished hard.
      Johnny: Requires good consistency in many areas. You screw up the FRC divine blade and you get punished. Mist cancel in blockstrings and combos requires different cancel timings depending not only on which normal you cancel, and if it's on block/hit/counter hit but also which mist finer level you are sitting on. Same with Jackhounds which sometimes may also require a long fast input for mist stance dash Jackhound. 1 hit Ensenga enders require char specific and sometimes tight routes. And coins are a limited resource so every Mist Finer combo or oki setup needs to count.

      Unless you are hitting the skill ceiling or your character (which basically never happens even at a near pro or pro level) Just picking the easier character is gonna be better. The thing is, if other characters can do their optimal combos and moves and you cant, your at a massive disadvantage. Faust having no frc alone gives him an enoumous advantage vs almost every other character unless they have almost perfect frcs, and almost no one does

Even the cpu seems difficult at times even if you already have played 15h or more with your character at times (yes I'm pretty bad I know), but at least in my experience that is what makes the experience rewarding getting to consistly defeat the cpus and eventually some online players and then eventually defeating boss I-no :^]

    This is guilty gear in a nutshell:
    For heavy executions: i-no
    For strategy and tactics (you need a bachelor atleast to use this character): venom
    For tricks or stalls (annoying your opponent): Bridget
    For heavy mix-ups: Millia
    For controlling 2 characters at the same time: Eddie
    For abnormally huge dmg/ finishing your opponent with 2 touches with minimal brain usage: Sol badguy
    RED LINES:
    BAIKEN will never grant you turns, it's her game, find out for yourself...
    ZAPPA is a multi stance character, and if used correctly, is the strongest character in the game (once you Raou up)
    TESTAMENT is the only character that can rival the two above him, and is a stupidly good trapper
    Pretty much the rest of the characters are gorillas in their own rights, with the exception of ky maybe (he came from street fighters i believe)

    Cool video. Hopefully BlazBlue Central Fiction also will get a tutorial that's just as informative and as well edited as this one, since BBCF is a game that's just as complex as Guilty Gear XRD Revelator, with the game like Revelator having legacy skill, meaning if you haven't stuck with the game since the original back in 2008 you have a MASSIVE hill to climb in learning frame data for each character's normals, gatlings, and overall mobility options that can be used on offense and neutral. Then there are the game's plentiful system mechanics, such as having a half a dozen options on defense that you need to master such as having four ways to block based on specific scenarios for example, and the game having a multitude of wake up options with each having a specific use, and that's not even going into the Drive mechanic, which is a unique action for each character, which there are OVER 35 of, which MOST of the cast plays VASTLY DIFFERENT from each other. All of this is wrapped up by a solid tutorial that not only goes over the mechanics of the game, but give you a general idea of how each character functions as well. Mainline BlazBlue games were HUGE in japan, with it being popular in many Japanese arcades, and as popular Guilty Gear content creator Obama stated in a podcast with Blasted Salami that the series had at one point been up there even with the almighty Tekken in terms of popularity. With many veterans like Dogura ( who is one of the best players in Guilty Gear who uses Slayer) and Fenrich ( who is arguably the best BB player, and currently one the best in DBFZ) representing the series for a long time . Sadly, The series just never took off over here in the west. However, the lack of popularity nationwide doesn't equate to the game's quality.The fact that is arguably the most unique AND complex 2D fighter on the market, but isn't talked about hardly at all in the west was always baffling to me. Especially when I read comments, and watch videos of people in the FGC complaining about how boring fighting games have gotten recently, or how easy it has become and yet will refuse to give the game a try. Thankfully, that seems to be changing, for instance Lord Knight, a tournament player who plays a variety of different fighting games recently made a fighting game tier list and put BBCF near the top, as well as popular Guilty Gear content creators like Obama saying on a podcast that BBCF is arguably just as hard as GG. For those who want to see high level game play in order to get a grasp of how hype this game can potentially be for you, I'd recommend a video titled "BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Grand Finals - Evo 2014" on youtube, and while the game represented there is not Central Fiction, I think it works, since Central Fiction is more of an evolution of Chrono Phantasma any way. Other channel's include "Burst Recap" and "Jourdal" for more high level Japanese play.

    • @lapis3965
      @lapis3965 3 года назад +2

      @@calb6109 "Blazblue looks too animey for me."
      Mind explaining what you mean by anime because in my opinion both "BlazBlue Central Fiction" and "Guilty Gear XRD REV" are similar in that regard. For example, Both games have characters their wear clothes with unnecessary accessories, such as the belts on Sol and Ragna. Additionally, both games also have character stereotypes seen in many other anime , which again, look at Sol and Ragna to see what I mean, since both characters are delinquents with foul mouths that have red as their theme. Next is the fact that both games have convoluted story lines with retcons and plotholes. Finally, both games feature a hefty amount of fanservice, with MANY of the female cast being heavily sexualized. Examples include but are not limited to: Baiken, who has has an outfit that highlights her cleavage and has a walking animation where she puffs out her huge breasts proudly.Then there's I-no, who is a character with another provocative character design who has a win animation where she takes her top off. The last example I'll five on the GG side is Elphelt, who is a character who shows cleavage and has a win animation where she pulls out a document in between her huge breasts. In the case of BlazBlue, theirs Makoto stripper outfit, and whatever Mu-12 turns into during a match lol. Overall, any criticism in regards to BlazBlue being to anime can ALSO be applied to Guilty Gear IMO.
      The only thing GG has that sets it apart from many anime and games is more unique character designs, but just because a design is unique doesn't automatically make it good, at least in my opinion. For instance, Bedman is a unique character design not seen in any fighting game prior, but at the end of the day it's just a slim dude in a bed, which to me is kind of lame. In the end, what you consider to be good character design all boils down to personal preference, so there really is no right or wrong here.

    dustloop is an AMAZING resource. It has a section on every major system mechanic in the game, guides to every character, and some goofy jokes mixed in as well. My advise is to start with the general overview of your normals/specials/etc, then later on check out the combo section, and adjust the combos into ones that you personally are able to do. People can split combos into beginner/intermediate/advanced, but only through your own experimentation will you figure out what you can land consistently.

    • @novriltataki
      @novriltataki  3 года назад +2

      1. You need to combine the 44 input inside the special move motion.
      2. The special move motion should be a tiger knee so you'll cancel the backdash into a jump attempt, and then cancel the jump preframes into the special move.
      I just learned this by google searching "Slayer BDC"
      www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/10774-bdc-tutorials/&do=findComment&comment=911587

    • @maxcar7298
      @maxcar7298 3 года назад

      Just a quick update on how I finally figured out:
      Backdash then do the special input and jump as fast as you can, it works ending with a straight (8) or diagonal jump(9), you just have to press jump right when you hit the normal button(let's say P or K for mappa for example)
      So the inputs are:
      44/66(dash) > 236 > P > 8/9(jump)
      The timing between the jump and normal is tricky, it's almost the same time, just a matter of practice.
      This also works for any character air special(without the dash, which is a slayer thing) just do the same input after the dash, for example:
      Anji air 214p, if you do it correctly the air special should come as close to the ground as possible.

  • @hickknight
    @hickknight 3 года назад

    Well, I know I want Anji... But I need to find some combos to get an idea of things at least. Hey, maybe that's an idea? A sort of trial video? Where you make combos that aren't exactly optimal, but give you the tools needed to further understand how to structure them.
    That said, I think this mentality should honestly be applied to ALL fighting games. You have to work out what buttons do what, how your specials factor into your gameplan and on which hits you can do what kind of combo. On top of knowing how other characters play.
    This is why it's important to understand that you should start anywhere, no matter how much you get bodied.
    and above all, it's a game. Have fun learning how to deal with what the other player can throw at you.

      @@brycerichardson3687 There's a pro/con, it's about 15 USD right now, so it's much cheaper if you only want to try out a GG game. On the other hand, Strive is looking to be more beginner friendly if you're worried more about your experience. Strive isn't out yet, so I can't say that it'll be good, but +R is really good, if hard. +R has really good rollback, and Strive is also releasing with it, so it'll hopefully function well too. I would say it's worth it to play +R, but if you're hesitant, wait for a sale (last time it went on sale was for like $3). You can always go back and forth, as I do with +R and Xrd.

    I hope Strive doesn't have this"Manage your expectations" bullshit. My main's combos should work the same way on any character. Doesn't add anything to the game besides frustration.

      Eh, I don't know about that. I feel like if they did a major overhaul to all characters kits and made them play more or less the same, instead of similarly to previous titles, it would create A LOT of frustration among veterans.

    "Faust is slightly easier at lower levels compared to slayer"
    Yeah people dont like to say stuff like this but im calling bullshit here. Faust is very hard and also not overly strong while faust is one of the best characters in the game and braindead easy. Faust doesnt require execution in a game that is very execution heavy, which is default a massive advantage for all but the most veteran of players. Execution is the single most important thing in fighting games, so a high tier character with easy execution will almost always be the best character unless your a pro.

    This video and the reputation for Guilty Gear probably steer more people away from the series than the game itself. You have a lot of options at any given time compared to a game like Street Fighter, but that doesn't make it harder to learn; it just gives it a lot of potential decisions to make once you understand the game better. This game is easier to learn than Street Fighter, in my opinion. Chains and universal options like faultless defense mean that there's less memorization than learning links and frame traps for every character in the game. Every fighting game is about getting destroyed when you're first learning...because only like three or four of them have enough other new players to consistently put you up against someone as bad as you.
    I don't know why people want to keep saying, "This game is so hard, dude" when you should be telling them how easy it is to learn due to universal mechanics that take a lot of memorization out of the early-goings of the game.

      Because most people find the game hard to learn.
