This reminds a bit AboutOliver's blind minecraft playthrough. An astrophysicist, the only thing he knew about minecraft before he started his videos was that there is a mob in minecraft who blows himself up. Watching that guy figuring out redstone mechanisms, nether portals, the dangers of beds and respawn anchors, seeing every structure in the game for the first time reallly made me look at minecraft differently. Mojang did a good job chainging minecraft the way it could teach its players how to play itself.
It feels original with no "100 day" challenges, mob farms, cheating and stuff, just a guy trying to beat minecraft after not playing for 5 years I love it

Glowing lichen was made in 1.17 to make caves a bit brighter so you can see anything. They don't glow without a reason. And moss at the surface means that there was a lush cave biome directly under it as you can see a lush cave at 22:20. Moss at the surface is just a generation bug

Fun Fact In the update where they changed the caves, they changed how diamonds spawn. Veins are much more common, but the veins exposed to air have way less diamonds per vein than ones that are not exposed to air. Also, since water ≠ air, water caves are actually a little useful for finding diamonds. However the hassle of not being able to breathe underwater means it’s probably still not worth it
I'm glad I got to this one early. It's so entertaining and relatable watching someone who's rusty play this game, but not so rusty that they don't even know the basics. It's the perfect mix between skill and childlike wonder, I'm lookin forward to seeing some more.
The only thing about this series I don’t like is that it‘s played in hardcore. Knowing that every episode could be the last makes me sad already. I would love to see you experience all the new features that have been added the last few years because right now, you only scratched the surface.
13:22 Deepslate coal does exist, but they are one of the rarest ones in the NEW ore distributions spawning at around higher levels of deepslate (Y=8 to 0). So if you want to get more coals i'd recommend finding a mountain cause that's where all the big coal veins spawn. Also series lookin good, hoping to see more in the future ^^
3:31 Yep. You can still do that. And the villager is called librarian. But I recommend you probably not doing that because it's too easy and boring. You can do whatever you want of course, but villagers are super op and idk how interesting will it be to play like that. Just staying at home and grinding lots of crops or sticks for emeralds and then getting all enchantments and top instruments and gear with ease

By the way, they changed the way ore generation works: -Coal gets rarer the lower down you are, its incredibly rare to get coal at deepslate level. -Also they made diamonds more common, but they made the size of veins smaller on average. It evens it out a bit that way

17:20 that's only if you don't engage first, mobs focus on their first attacker 20:20 you need an anvil to rename the tag, _then_ you can name _any_ mob 20:50 it is actually! ... Though you need to find a specific mob from the savanna and use a brush on it 25:22 it's technically a _very_ old block that was planned to be used to set your spawn and then beds were added instead but hey, neat decorational block that lights up! Also it can't be used to make portals
4:40 coal barely generates in deepslate. When you run out torch and have no coal, you need to go up to stone. The higher you are more coal you will find.
Here is a helpful tip:mobs only spawn in complete darkness. They used to be able to spawn in low light levels but this was changed . Now you can use your torches more sparingly

The F3 menu shouldn't show anything that wouldn't be okay, but based on how you seem to like to play the game it's probably gonna be more fun for you to use it sparingly or not at all anyway. The villager thing still works like you mentioned doing in your previous hardcore world. The crying obi is meant to be worn, and can be used to craft a vaulabled item: the respawn anchor. Hey! I love your content! It’s hilarious to see you paranoid about everything in the caves. And just a little tip for your signs. Those glowy octopuses you saw in the first episode, when you kill them you get glow ink sacs, and when you place them on a sign it makes the text glow so you can see them in the dark!
6:15 I do not reccomend destroying mob spawners. You can deactivate them with torches but they are very hard to find and can be very useful if you need mob drops. You can even make automated machines out of them once you are skilled enough that automatically generate the drops. Especially do not destroy skeleton spawners like this one and blaze spawners because they are very useful Magma cube and silverfish spawners are okay to destroy You technically CAN make your own arrows but I personally find it easier to just kill skeletons because the recipe is a little annoying
“Did they add sharks?” Fun fact: any hostile mob will NOT be from something that exists real life. Only neutral mobs are the only real life mobs that could attack a player.

man, i watched minecraft grow since 1.7 version. I saw a lot of changes and new things and never see nothing like this videos. a guy discovering the new minecraft is so satisfying
Tip: Mojang changed how caves generate. Bedrock now spawns at y = -64 instead of y = 0, making caves go deeper. When you reach y = 0, caves stop using stone and instead use deepslate. Coal can only spawn above y = 0, while diamond only spawns below that. The only places you're gonna find coal in your cave is chests.
14:29 since 1.18 lapis can spawn much higher; however at this high up you won’t see any exposed to air but it can spawn exposed to water. It’s also rarer than diamond this close to the surface.
Potatoes are one of the best foods in game, they grow INSANELY fast, and when they're fully grown they gkve like 3x the crops, you end up with like 20 on hand after replating everything
13:40 yeah they add it, some people are creating farms of shark teeth to make more shark swords which are strong as Iron Sword but add poison after hitting for 2 seconds
1. The golden barbie doll is called a totem of undying, which allows the player to cheat death. They can be acquired in a Woodland Mansion or Pillager Raid from evokers. 2. Skeletons will not start attacking each other if they are already provoked by a player. 3. Axes have a DPS almost as high as a sword, and they can be used for more than one thing. You should use these as your weapon. 4. You missed an amethyst geode in your mine. Whenever you find a grey block that looks different than deepslate underground, it means you found one. I forgot the name of the grey block.
Only use axes until you get an enchanted diamond sword or higher tho. then the axes rebound time makes it obsolete against the sword (in singleplayer java. for bedrock, always use sword) also, raids can be SUPER hard to fight (specially in hardcore), so be prepared with enchanted diamond armour and weapons at least

The reason for so many diamonds is the new generation, while diamonds do spawn more commonly, they spawn in smaller veins usually. While old generation you'd typically find 5-8 veins but pretty rarely, with the new generation you'll find plenty of 1-4 veins scattered around everywhere
3:24 This is just glowing vines or some type of it. 4:36 Yes, rapidly jumping like that makes you faster. 18:13 Only one can, but you haven't seen it. And about dog armor. You need to find savanna biome to craft it.
a good tip to not get lost in caves is to place torches only on your right or left side, this way you know the correct way out is when you walk with torches on the opposite side to the one you placed them at

You can do whatever you want of course, but villagers are super op and idk how interesting will it be to play like that. By the way, they changed the way ore generation works:
-Coal gets rarer the lower down you are, its incredibly rare to get coal at deepslate level.
-Also they made diamonds more common, but they made the size of veins smaller on average. It evens it out a bit that way

Honestly I totally understand your opinions on the mods and shaders and stuff. I don't personally use default brightness, but I get what you mean about the vibe and I can respect that lol. The F3 menu shouldn't show anything that wouldn't be okay, but based on how you seem to like to play the game it's probably gonna be more fun for you to use it sparingly or not at all anyway.
I feel like you got really lucky with the diamond spawns this episode, and the lapis on the surface was insane generation, I've never seen that before. The villager thing still works like you mentioned doing in your previous hardcore world. The "Barbie doll" totems are pretty dangerous to acquire, not gonna be specific about the method but I wouldn't worry about it until you're pretty kitted up.

Those glowy octopuses you saw in the first episode, when you kill them you get glow ink sacs, and when you place them on a sign it makes the text glow so you can see them in the dark!

6:15 I do not reccomend destroying mob spawners. You can deactivate them with torches but they are very hard to find and can be very useful if you need mob drops. You can even make automated machines out of them once you are skilled enough that automatically generate the drops. Especially do not destroy skeleton spawners like this one and blaze spawners because they are very useful
Magma cube and silverfish spawners are okay to destroy
You technically CAN make your own arrows but I personally find it easier to just kill skeletons because the recipe is a little annoying
“Did they add sharks?” Fun fact: any hostile mob will NOT be from something that exists real life. Only neutral mobs are the only real life mobs that could attack a player.

man, i watched minecraft grow since 1.7 version. I saw a lot of changes and new things and never see nothing like this videos. a guy discovering the new minecraft is so satisfying
Tip: Mojang changed how caves generate. Bedrock now spawns at y = -64 instead of y = 0, making caves go deeper. When you reach y = 0, caves stop using stone and instead use deepslate. Coal can only spawn above y = 0, while diamond only spawns below that. The only places you're gonna find coal in your cave is chests.

Potatoes are one of the best foods in game, they grow INSANELY fast, and when they're fully grown they gkve like 3x the crops, you end up with like 20 on hand after replating everything
And cooked poots actually give a decent hunger bar restoration

1. The golden barbie doll is called a totem of undying, which allows the player to cheat death. They can be acquired in a Woodland Mansion or Pillager Raid from evokers.
2. Skeletons will not start attacking each other if they are already provoked by a player.
3. Axes have a DPS almost as high as a sword, and they can be used for more than one thing. You should use these as your weapon.
4. You missed an amethyst geode in your mine. Whenever you find a grey block that looks different than deepslate underground, it means you found one. I forgot the name of the grey block.

Only use axes until you get an enchanted diamond sword or higher tho. then the axes rebound time makes it obsolete against the sword (in singleplayer java. for bedrock, always use sword)
also, raids can be SUPER hard to fight (specially in hardcore), so be prepared with enchanted diamond armour and weapons at least

The reason for so many diamonds is the new generation, while diamonds do spawn more commonly, they spawn in smaller veins usually. While old generation you'd typically find 5-8 veins but pretty rarely, with the new generation you'll find plenty of 1-4 veins scattered around everywhere

yes, there is dog armor now made with armadillo scoots, you get armadillo scoots from brushing armadillos, armadillos are found in accasia biomes.
