  • jelly fruit cake, the dessert made with agar-agar. This jelly fruit cake recipe is made of three layers, the first layer being the transparent fruit later, then a white coconut milk layer and the last being the palm sugar (dark brown) layer.
    Agar-agar, made from seaweed is a vegetarian substitute for gelatin.Agar-agar is found in the form of strands as well as powder. in this recipe, we will be using the strands form.
    how to handle the agar-agar:
    first soak it in cold water for 10-15minutes before you cook it.
    Fruits:
    The first layer in the recipe is made of fruits. You can use any fruits, any size, fresh or canned fruits for this layer. i've use some yellow and green kiwi, dragon fruit, orange peach and blueberry.
    Unmold:
    using a toothpick, at a spot to push in some air as the jelly gets sucked into the mold without air. So, once you've inserted the toothpicks or anything sharp, tilt the pan onto a plate and the jelly cake will come out nicely.
