I love Platinum Egoíste, is my signature since 2008. Is fresh and metalized at same time, like sterilized steel, "zero sugar". Very masculine, for a powerful and confident man.

Totally agree. EdP is way overhyped online. The Parfum is 🔥🔥🔥 My go to fragrance. It’s funny cause in a few videos she says Parfum is better and then others she says EdP is better 😂
Great Video! Talking of Eau Sauvage, I think a Video focusing on the line would be interesting. Esp. the Parfum and the Cologne definitely deserve more attention. I can’t really agree on Eau Sauvage EDT being an alternative to Egoiste, Platinum Egoiste and Antaeus, though. The style of Platinum Egoiste is comparable (fougère), yes, but Egoiste has a spiciness to it and Antaeus has a „dirty“/animalistic 80s touch - it can be offensive nowadays.
Platinum Egoiste is the easiest of the vintage ones. Next is classic Egoiste, (Champagne smell) then Antaeus, (Extremely heavy chypre and smoke, phenolic castoreum smell) and Pour Monsieur (Ultravintage chypre cologne smell) are the hardest ones to wear of the maison by far. My signatures are now Polo Green (Similar to Antaeus) and Givenchy Gentleman 1974 (Extremely animalic one) The one i own by Chanel is Egoiste classic, however i don't know if it is clever to wear it on a date in a while... Mine too, since the mid 90s, a bit disappointed in the latest version, it’s very similar, but it misses something from the original. Can’t put my finger on it, but its sort of lighter and lasts not as long (although still long enough). But despite the change, it’s still my absolute favourite.
I had Egoïste and Platinum Egoïste, and with Anteus and Pour Monsieur are the 4 Horsemen of apokalypse, Bleu and the Allure's are great, both can't compare with the 4 Horsemen
Have BDC, very happy with him, but yesterday smelt a Platinum Egoiste .. damn such a powerful fragrance even better then BDC imo, so strong and masculane 😊
Platinum Egoiste is timeless. The classiest fresh scent imo. My all time favorite fresh along with the 2012 Eau Sauvage Parfum. Allure Homme and Bleu are also very nice and elegant. Antaeus is so vintage. Great in cooler/cold climates.. nightmare in warmer/hot climates. Not versatile. Egoiste and Allure Sport line are ok..

I bought my first chanel men perfume after watching video thanks for your review, i bought allure homme blanche .. it's a very underrated perfume, and it's not lemon pie like some reviews on youtube, it starts with lemon mist note and settles sandalwood creamy note , i use it for work/office, lasts about 3 hours with 3-4 sprays so your colleagues will not get overwhelmed, must try for office use.
A good way of thinking about the Eau Extreme and Edition Blanche flankers it's that they are flankers of Allure Homme Sport and Allure Homme, two fairly different fragrances. As far as the name change they should just change cuir to peau. Actually, if Tom Ford made a leather/barbershop scent and called it Peau de Jour I would 100% buy it!
You could of gone into a bit more depth on egoiste and platinum egoiste not just say skip them 🤣 they are 2 of the best from chanel and way better than eau savauge line in my opinion
“Cuir de Russie” is a smell that all perfumers have tried to produce due its legendary history. They indeed try to reproduce the the smell of Cossack boot leather, waterproofed with birch bark before the troops engaged into battle. It is an iconic classic smell in the fragrance world whose name cannot be changed !
I own them all and they all have their time and place. To make things even more complicated their scent profile changes in seasons as well as their performance. The last and final kicker is that the dry down scent will be different, dependant on your body chemistry. Wearing perfume is an art all by itself.
Very true. I haven’t tested BDC in warmer weather yet but in cooler weather Parfum is far superior to EdP on my skin and I bought a full bottle. The EdP while the opening is great, the citrus goes away way faster, turns powdery and almost no woodiness. The Parfum stays citrus longer. And the dry down is much creamier and sophisticated, much more pronounced woodiness. We’ll see in the spring/ summer!
To me Allure homme sport is much better then the extreme version i like the freshness of it the extreme losses the freschnes and added much more tonka which in this case i do not care about that much and Coromandel fits more man than women it is green erathey patchouli that many times women do not liek. It is unisex but more linning to men

Then I walked round for a couple hours and the homme sport lasted longer. And that CREAMINESS, ozonic, metallic(?).. cool scent.. omfg. 20 minutes after spraying, it’s smells so don good

Platinum Egoiste is super easy to pull off in any weather and on anyone. It’s really not a vintage fragrance at all, it’s pretty timeless. I don’t think that someone your age won’t be able to pull it off. People could wear this in high school or college just as easily as a workplace.
If someone wants a better more refined less meatalic and smoother fragrance at the same category - try L'Humaniste EDP by Frapin. To me it is much less metalic better blended smoother and non harsh niche vesrsion of Platinum egoist . Some say L'Humanist is comparable to allure homme adition blanche because the citrus but it is more comparable to Platinum egoiste.

Égoïste and platinum égoïste share the name but they are totally different. Platinum égoïste is not dated at all it smell really good and modern. Egoist is not that good. And eau sauvage is good but totally different for me.
Exactly my reaction, they really just share the name - really misleading, lol. I‘d say it’s possible to swap Platinum Egoiste for Eau Sauvage EDT (same style) but there are miles between Eau Sauavage EDT and Egoiste and galaxies between Eau Sauvage EDT and Antaeus in terms of differences, not quality.
It's good to have clones and the real deal of the clones therefore you wouldn't have to use all of the real deal. Like I'm not going to use my creed aventus or green irish tweed instead I use CDNIM EDT and Tres Nuit my creed are my Souvenirs just for show just to have in my collection because I'm not buying them again

The Allures from my point of view are so much better than the Bleu line. Egoiste and Antaeus are way better performance and uniqueness wise in relationship to the Allure and Bleu lines.

I had the BDC edp really liked it but when I smelled the parfum it quickly became my favorite it's just a bit deeper and richer fragrance to me.
The parfum is by far the superior flanker of BDC

I sampled Edition Blanche, but it smelled too much like Pledge furniture polish to me. Shame, I am a huge fan of Bleu & Eau Extreme.

Égoïste and platinum égoïste share the name but they are totally different. Platinum égoïste is not dated at all it smell really good and modern. Egoist is not that good. And eau sauvage is good but totally different for me.
Exactly my reaction, they really just share the name - really misleading, lol. I‘d say it’s possible to swap Platinum Egoiste for Eau Sauvage EDT (same style) but there are miles between Eau Sauavage EDT and Egoiste and galaxies between Eau Sauvage EDT and Antaeus in terms of differences, not quality.

It's good to have clones and the real deal of the clones therefore you wouldn't have to use all of the real deal. Like I'm not going to use my creed aventus or green irish tweed instead I use CDNIM EDT and Tres Nuit my creed are my Souvenirs just for show just to have in my collection because I'm not buying them again
My God. Chanel antaeus and Chanel pour monsieur are the best Chanel fragrance out there. Or try yves Laurent kouros or Gucci nobile. If you want an updatet Chanel fragrance try Chanel allure homme

The Allures from my point of view are so much better than the Bleu line. Egoiste and Antaeus are way better performance and uniqueness wise in relationship to the Allure and Bleu lines.

Upon first sniff ((👃🏾)), it didn't seem to smell like lemon. (Kinda reminded me of a weaker version of SMW or Mephisto)🤔

I have 30 fragrances. Smelled BDC for the first time last week. It was ok. Very linear, pretty boring. Just a generic "good" smell.
Sorry but Égoïste is definitely not fresh and a completely different style of fragrance than Eau Sauvage!
I just got the BDC edp and I already had the Sauvage edp, and I find Sauvage much better smelling. Idc BDC is overrated

Blue chanel wears everybody, you just use the fragrance of somebody else. Allure is nothing special, just buy hugo soul and get more value. Eau savague is old, for older men, if you want to feel like being on the rest, just go for it:) I hope u do not want feel like an egoiste, so what is remaning in the rich chanel offer?
