      I carry a CRKT C/K Dragon in a backhand draw position. I'm not really capable of attacking anymore, but I can block with the blade. Eventually they'll get sick of the wet squishy sound and go away... which is all I'm after anyway.

    Looks good in the studio, but frankly, all too often, a person with a knife is slashing, thrusting, slashing, thrusting, continuously and rapidly. Best to just flee, or shoot.

    No martial artist recommends getting in a knife fight, plus you never know the skill of your attacker or the determination. 5x more people killed with knives then with rifles,

    Knife attack victims usually think they're being punched, then later see the blood (if they are alive) to realize they've been stabbed. What is this knife fighting BS?

I was hoping you could do a video of what a law-enforcement officer is supposed to do when something happens like in San Francisco when you have 80 people robbing a store what would be your suggestion of how to go about dealing with the situation???? Please help

      You should not be getting legal and professional advice from RUclips comments, especially when you're already in training. Your training cadre will instruct you in the manner that is consistent with your agency, your local and state laws. Your questions should be directed to your instructors.

    Compromise is a bad word when it comes to self defense. Adapt the the imperfect nature of combat, but never get into the habit of compromising your defenses. Adapt. Adjust, but compromise is not the word or idea you should have when your safety is on the line. We get far too much of that in this world now days, especially on things where compromise should never happen. Its why the world is as screwed up as it is now days. Giving ground on things that should never be moved on. There are consequences.

    Looks and sounds great when demonstrating with a compliant dance partner. In reality, with a full force and full speed adrenaline charged situation, you are 100% guaranteed to get cut. Training might only reduce the extent of your injuries. Never get into a knife fight if possible. The wounds inflicted by a 4” blade are often far worse than a GSW.

    • @Ajesen
      @Ajesen Год назад

      If we would to go from this comment, there would be no training done, in any type of self defense really... Ofcourse real life attack will be different but he cant Just go pick a fight with someone on the streets and record that

    Okay, but what if the guy that's trying to slash at you does more than a single slash and then stands like a statue? I get the first counter slash, but beyond that you're assuming your attacker will just stand still.

    • @Scooter1980
      @Scooter1980 2 года назад +3

      Agreed. This method is nonsense. I’ve seen several knife attacks. Not one of them was anything like what he demonstrated.

    • @hotdogman5214
      @hotdogman5214 2 года назад +2

      @@Scooter1980 I feel like a safer alternative would be to first have a knife that's as sharp as possible, that way you don't need much pressure to slice flesh or even clothing. One of my Benchmade folders sliced lengthwise down my forearm as I was cutting cardboard boxes, and it was so sharp that I didn't feel it through my hoodie's sleeve at first (luckily it wasn't deep but I still needed 17 stitches). Second, in this scenario a moderately forceful counter slash onto the attacker's forearm should slice through to the tendons without much effort. The immediate feeling and realization that they've received a very deep, possibly life threatening cut would be enough to make them momentarily consider retreating unless they were hopped up on something. Lastly, immediately after the counter slash, a swift kick to their side to create more distance, or just a fast break for it would be best to get out of this unscathed. I highly doubt your attacker would follow you if they had an inch deep, 4 to 5 inch long slash in their forearm and had no more control of their fingers, but if they did, they'd be at a severe disadvantage with the use of only one hand.
      But that's all assuming your attacker is coming at you with a very telegraphed cross-slash as in this video. I'd think if a knife wielding attacker wanted to harm you, they'd go for stabs.

      @@hotdogman5214 I recently came across a story of a woman who tried to defend herself from an abusive partner by slashing his arm.
      He instantly grabbed the knife and took it from her.
      So no you can't trust a inch deep cut down the attackers arm to stop them.

      @@Scooter1980 I CANNOT AGREE MORE THAN THIS!!!!!!!! THE WORST WAY TO DEAL WITH A "real" KNIFE DEFENSE/ATTACK IS TO TRAIN HOURS AND HOURS, DAYS AND DAYS, MONTHS AND MONTHS, YEARS AND YEARS, PRE-CONSTITUTED TECHNIQUES!?! EVERY STREET SITUATION IS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT FROM THE GYM!!!!! THE FACTOR THAT CAN SAVE OUR LIFE IS ONLY ONE: PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY!!!!! THE REST IS GAME, MYTHOLOGY, ILLUSION !!!!!! PS: GENERALLY THOSE WHO TEACH COURSES 99% OF THE TIME HAVE NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER DEAL WITH A REAL SITUATION!!!!!! IF THE GENTLEMEN WANT, I WILL TAKE THEM FOR A "TOUR" IN SOUTH AMERICA OR ASIA..................
