I want to organize a meeting for people who are strangers to each other, and they don't want to be recognized by each other. I'd like myself to be the main focus, so that when students watch the recording they only see me. I tried turning the focus feature on, but it's not working. What am I doing wrong? Thanks!!
What is recorded varies depending on if you record to the cloud or your computer. There are also multiple recording settings in your Zoom account. My suggestion is to experiment with those options to see what works the best, You can set up test calls with yourself by joining from different devices. that's how I filmed this video.
I will be doing a Zoom meeting with 100 participants and I don't want there to be a gallery at all. In fact, I just participated in a zoom meeting where there was no visible gallery view and yet there were many people on the call. I didn't even see me. Do you know how this was done?

Your videos are very well organized and useful! I want to do a conference with 4 speakers and 4 conference staff (including myself) there will be about 70 - 80 attendees. I plan to start the meeting in Focus Mode with a waiting room. I will enter the waiting room to spotlight my four speakers and the 3 staff so we can all see our videos. (Attendees will not be spotlighted). I will set the screen share for "all participants" and set chat to "allow everyone" to see that chat feed. Am I correct then in assuming that I and my four speakers will be able to share their PowerPoint presentations with all attendees and all attendees will be able to submit questions about the presentations via chat? Simply, will this approach work? Thanks. BTW I watched your video again (for the 4th time! 😀)and had another question. What is the difference between "spotlighting" a participant versus making them a "co-host" -- looks like they are kind of equivalent?
Thank you! My suggestion is to do a trial run with this idea - using multiple devices and maybe a few friends or family members. You'll get more comfortable with the controls and also find any potential issues.

@@Mandolin1944 It sounds like you are figuring out a plan that works for you. A couple of things - If you set screen sharing to all participants, everyone will be able to share their screen. Is that what you want? Spotlightling and co-host are different. Spotlighting is about visibility on the screen. The Co-host role gives additional abilities to the person. Ma'm what version is your zoom? I am using windows 10 in my laptop but when i click the more there was no focus and spotlight. What kind of zoom version are you using . thanks so much
Thanks for providing your great information. My goal is to have all participants anonymous, with their Chat only visible to me and my Chat defaulting to visible only to a single addressee unless I elect to send a msg to "All". My video (as Host) can be visible, or not. I plan to share my desktop (outlined portion only). The purpose of this setup is to hold an auction with participant privacy with bids submitted by chat visible only to me as the host. Participants will be able to see the bids via my shared desktop. I don't want to spend $50 / month for the Webinar add-on for this occasional use for well under my Pro account limit of participants. Can do?

After further investigation, it looks like I can set my end to "hide participants with no video" (telling participants to leave their video off for privacy) and set the chat to operate between participants & host only. It looks like in this case there would be no video, no photo, & no name displayed to the other participants. I need to test this, but I can use the webinar functionality after all if what I described doesn't work. Your thoughts? Thanks, Terry
@@terryhunter1749 Setting up the chat in that way would work the way you are looking for. Hide Participants with No Video is a control that each person sets for themself. You as the host can't control that setting for all of the participants - only yourself.

Can a host have 20 attendees, but each attendee only sees the host video and their own video, not knowing that there are 19 others watching at the same time?

I want to use it for online workshops about anxiety and some other mental health issues. So it is very important they feel safe in their own bubble.

Hi, when I put my meeting in focus mode, I don't have the option to Spotlight anybody else. That option isn't there in the menu at all. Please help.

This is not something that you can do with Zoom meetings.

If you've set things up as shown in the video and a participant is seeing the video turned on for another participant, that sounds like a Zoom bug.
Can a host have 20 attendees, but each attendee only sees the host video and their own video, not knowing that there are 19 others watching at the same time?
If the ideas in this video don't do what you want, you may want to explore using Zoom webinar.
