Great stories. I love "Not For The Season." as well. Top tier Wilco. Super cool you got to see Loose Fur. Then you follow it with a Tweedy/Bennett show. Damn. I don't remember them touring alone together. Must not have come to Minneapolis. Loved that you mentioned Bennett the dog as well.
I found my ticket stubs in a crate in my garage about 10 years back. They were all stuck together because of the cold and head over the years. They must have been in there for about 15 years or so. There was one show that I did go to that I do not have a ticket stub. I never had a ticket stub for this show. Me and my best friend were in 6th grade and his older brother took us to see the Clash at the Palladium in NYC in Sept 1979. He worked the lights at the Palladium and we watched it from one of the spotlight rigs with him as he worked. It was my third concert. The first was Kiss in '77 and the second was Queen in '78 ... both at MSG in NYC and both with my parents who were big fans.
Hey Chris, hope you are doing well. Great stories. I have always regretted simply throwing out most, if not all, of my ticket stubs from both music shows and sporting events. I can't remember a great deal of them now and I know it would be so much easier with a ticket stub. Oh well... Btw, I'm so sorry to hear about Bennett. I figured something may have happened because on the last few videos you didn't hear his nails tick-tacking across your floor. I have always been a dog person and I know it's tough to get over. I'm sure he was a great friend and that you must miss him terribly. Again, my condolences. Take care of yourself, John
Hilarious the first one you picked, you didn’t go to. I went to the Isbell show at The Ryman the night before that one. I saw them the first time they played The Ryman (at least as a headliner) the year before.
Am I seeing a Joe Henry Short Man's Room cd on the top shelf? Man what I wouldn't give to see that get a vinyl press. Music on Vinyl did such a killer job with Shuffletown I was really hoping for more of the back catalog to get the treatment.
I stopped by Third Man Records during a trip to Nashville in September, and while I didn’t have a Jack White encounter, I can confirm that the staff that was working the record store was the absolute best. Just really nice and super helpful. It was noticeable enough that I actually complimented them about it to their faces. It didn’t come across as trained or forced behavior either. I think they just hire the right people to best represent the store and brand.
Completely agree with your opinion on the Jay Bennett Wilco years being peak Wilco. Jay''s story is utterly tragic. Seeing them on the Being There tour at the Fillmore SF is burned into my memory plus I just played that record to death in the 90s. Jay never being able to tour in support of YHF still bothers me to this day.
PLEASE do more of these type of videos, Chris! I enjoy your stories very much.
Absolutely LOVED this style of video! Please consider doing more, I love hearing your stories about the show!

Kid Congo is a legendary punk artist, a former member of The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds as well as a long-time solo artist.
Just came across your channel from this video! So great to see a fellow collector.

Great, great memories there. The Clash - wow!

Maybe I’ll change it to the potpourri thing 🙄😵💫😎
Hi Chris! Nice video as always 👌

How come you and Lane didn't pick the Giants or Jets?
I honestly have no idea! He made the rules - I just followed :).
Sorry for the multiple comments. After they gave me the photo back, I wouldn’t return to the coffee shop. Just too awkward.
Every person I’ve ever been friends with that’s originally from NJ/NY never was a Giants or Jets fan.
