Hello Eli. I recently got into the M43 world (from Pentax) and I really enjoy what it offers. Currently I own a set of budget lenses to use with my (also budget) E-M10 Mk. II: Lumix 12-32 pancake, Lumix 12-60 kit, Olympus 40-150 plastic fantastic. I've been looking into getting a prime for streets. I'd like to know how you think about the Lumix 25 1.7 vs the 20 1.7? Thanks!
Hi Eli, I just wanted to add that the distance you are from the subject also greatly influences the depth of field. But I was actually looking into maybe buying a prime 50 equiv. So thanks! Very interesting 👍 Cheers!
For night shooting the depth of field is a strength, while F1.7 is around f3.4 in terms of dof it’s still F1.7 in terms of light gathering. I do love the 25mm F1.7 taken some of my favorite images with that and the GX80 it’s a great street lens. But will upgrade to the panaleica version for weather sealing the rain sets in fast in Manila and is usually epic, not much drizzle just dry or cloud burst
Very true, being able to shoot wide open but still have a lot in focus is handy! And it's great for street photography, I'd be tempted to get the panaleica but if I really need the weather sealing I stick on the 12-60 at 25mm
@@Elifarnhill I did a bit of research recently of 25mm primes, and this lumix one seems to be optically similar to the leica mark 1, other than being a bit slower wide open. Bit of a bargain! Although the leica mark 1 can be had for £150 used it seems.

Very true Mike, I forgot to include that!
It's a great little lens and you can find bargains pretty often!
@@Elifarnhill Cheers Eli - I’ll be on the hunt now!

Think its only the mark 2 version of the panaleica 25mm f1.4 thats weather sealed, and obviously newer so less used bargains!
I see! Thanks for letting me know!
