I been using the dread sponge for about 5 months just wondering when can I stop using the sponge and get a retwist or interlocking them to lay them down. I am thinking about just letting my hair do what ever it wants and what is a better retwist or interlocking?

For the micro fabric towel when you do it is the dreadlocks permanent or you have to do it everyday to get the dreads? And does the micro fabric towel work on straight hair?
So i have questions i had locks but never really kept mantaince on them they werent tagled but i notcied my hair getting thinner in the front and i cut them how could i avoid that this time

I used to use the sponge for over a year maybe 2 with the sponge the dreads won’t lock up they’re gonna stick up like free form dreads
