      it's going to be a ugly stage for the first 1-2 month's not washing your hair. what I did keep a hat or Bennie on and the was it after the 1 month-and-a-half go ahead and wash it with a shampoo called "Jamaica mango & lime Tingle shampoo"

    Yessss!!! My hair is awfully straight and fine. I've wanted dreads forever but never thought my hair could hold them as it can't even hold curls. 😞.
    Unfortunately I couldn't do this to myself due to neck injuries which keep me from holding my arms up for too long.
    I'll have to find someone who could do this. I'm so happy I found this video.
    Thank you!!! ❤

My friend, who started my dreads, is gone and I can't find any good help to get me right! This creator makes it seem so easy to do, but it's really overwhelming. It's not him... He's a really good teacher! It's me... lol! Thanks for the positive directions and you really love what you do... I can see it!! The VIBES!!!

    The light fluff along dread... Get lighter if u don't mind smell.. Quickly run along with lighter.. Singe the fluffy ends down.. Super neat.. A dread don't catch fire. If u accidently catch it alight haha it runs up the sides and again looks nice and neat tho I don't suggest leaving lighter long enough to set on fire... Hawaiins use a hot ember of a stick and run along like comb.

    hello, i have a question please! is it usual that crocheting hurts? i mean sometimes, not all the time.. more in the roots? because i made dreads for somebody, and he seemed kind of really dissapointed about my method, because he was hurt really much. now i think about if it was just him or if i would have been able to do it better. another friend of myne says, she doesn't hurt people when crocheting, but she uses a different method than me and i think its really hard to work like this... i am used to another method, because the people who did mine (professional) also hurt me sometimes while making. and we all use another crochet hook whithout the jaw... i don't know, i am insecure now, even if i used my kind for years..

      BZ then what is it explain pls

    • @BZ1610
      @BZ1610 7 лет назад +20

      z alex depends on the type of loc you're going for. I know for Afro textured hair it's the easiest to form. You can legitimately just coil the hair using a finger or a fine toothed comb. That's how you start your locs. Then you neaten them as time goes on and more hair grows in. I've almost accidentally formed locs myself by leaving my finger coils in too long. I know that method won't work for someone with straight hair though. For people with straight hair, white people specifically, a lot of manipulation and possible damage must occur to achieve the "look" of locs. It also seems to become really matted together and tangled and really...dirty.
      In other cultures and religions, locs have a special meaning instead of just being stylish or trendy and to upkeep them is a lot of work and commitment

    • @raedettmer4013
      @raedettmer4013 3 года назад

      I’m not sure where u got your information from, but you wash your hair with locs , they wouldn’t lock up if the hair is greasy dirty ,unwashed, etc… a loc is knotted up and when the hair isn’t going uniformly one way, to the point where it finally mattes together to make a loc or dreadloc.

      Don't just stop brushing or conditioning your hair, look for a video about dreads. My brother had a mixture of finger coils and two strands twists to form his dreads and used Jamaican locking firm wax. He had touch ups about once every week or 2 weeks to make sure they kept their strength and shine. Also he still washed his hair when needed.

      By Asian, do you mean Indian or Oriental? I've seen Indians with dreads before. Theres a huge Dub & Reggae scene in UK, and one of our local soundsystems (only big in the scene, not big worldwide like Iration or Aba-Shanti) was ran by an Indian Rasta. My dads mate used to run his own Reggae soundsystem around early 90's. He was the selector and his MC was another Indian Rasta. They don't seem to be as common as white-locks but I've seen a few around. Now, if you're talking ORIENTAL, then I've NEVER seen one, not even in the world of fiction, so there you have it!

    • @Crowski
      @Crowski 6 лет назад +1

      Why do people want any hairstyle? Hair type doesn’t matter when it comes to dreads. ALL HAIR DREADS. I don’t get why black people think they own dreads when In fact it started in India and ancient Egypt. Guess what, those people have beautiful sleek hair. 😂😂😂 who cares about skin color or hair texture. Let people live with the hair they feel reflects their personality.

    I have a big question... The Interference of the number of extensions hair depends on the size of the head or in thickness of the dreads? Im going to pay to a girl to put dread on me and I will have to use extensions. The girl who's going to make said me the price and then I said a few days later that I want them not so thick, I want fine dreads, and now she's saying to me that I have to pay more. Why?! If the size of my head is the same?! Why does she want more money if the amount of hair is the same? Or isn't? I'm very confuse and I don't want to be cheated... Please someone can explain..

      teresa gama speak from personal experience... Don't go to this person to get your dreads. I went to many MANY people to feel out their "vibe" and see the work they do before I finally trusted the very person that did the video clip this person put on their video. Her name is Glow and she is co creator of Wired and Stoned. She is absolutely amazing! I am so glad I didn't have anyone else do my dreads and didn't go into the hair style quickly or lightly. I did research and "shopped" around for a whole year before I finally just said ,"screw it", and flew Glow and her partner out to my state to do my hair. What started off as shoulder length hair is now dreads down to my butt. Not only did I get the hair of my dreams, but I also got knowledge of maintenance to do it myself in the future plus a lifelong friendship of two amazing individuals!
