Don’t you want to use flex conduit to electric line?

TPR Valve Drain tube missing is a code violation as well. Exposed romex wire is a code violation. This is unsafe and should be corrected.

yea codes want to much whats unsafe about romex its insulated just like a extension cord is should have drain tho it that pops off your home is flooded

Well, that's because any permananetly installed electrical wire is considered a fire hazard, and should be enclosed within a fire enclosure, i.e. an electrical box, or a flex conduit. A fire enclosure has very limited to no airflow, so if any electrical fire breaks out it is put out immediately due to the lack of oxygen. If the exposed romes causes a fire that fire won't be contained and will propagate.
As for the extension cables, the code limits them to non permanent installation. You can't have an extension cable powering your water heater, just like the exposed romex.

    Bro...bro....what are you thinking....
You CANNOT have romex exposed like that. From wall to the water heater conductors must be in flex conduit or sealtite. Connections must be done inside the box on the waterheater. And any 220/240 white conductor used as a hot must be phased red in a single phase panel like yours. Lastly the entry to the panel requires a bushing or a chase nipple

Adding additional wire protection is definitely a good Idea to prevent animals from nibbling, I would only argue that many homes have romex not in conduit, most 110 outlets also have no conduit and can equally be a fire hazard. if you recall me stating I am not a professional and video is for entertainment.

I agree about the connections being in the box but the exposed romex isn't as big of a deal since this is in a closet containing just the heater not open in a basement or area where the wires may get snagged. .

You leave to much wire exposed at your breaker

Wires have to go inside the box of the water heater not expose damnn you do need some classes

Say what you want, six months later and still works just fine, and I did stick wires under the box

What if there was water spewing up and the wires burned. Cut wires, dried out and redoing. I dont want to lay them back in box. This is just until we can go with truck to get a new one. Question why would exposed wrapped wires be an issue. In box or out?

Wiring is absolutely a code violation!
